- Hey everybody, welcome to the end of The Long Drive. We made it boys. We beat the game. The ending cropped up at 5094.4kms. I have no words to describe the feelings I have about this. It has been an adventure that I will remember for a long time. Thank you to everyone who tuned in a watched. To all my supporters, commenters, fans, and even Jacob B and Trevor. Thank you Jacob! Ya know I am so lucky to have bought the long drive about a week after ur first vid came out. I searched for the long drive bc I didn’t know how to turn off my car! I clicked on ur vid and didn’t see how so I clicked off but I wanted to come back and watch so I searched it back up and found u. I believe it was at most 60 subs when I found u maybe if I’m just dumb it was 100 but it wasn’t much. I actually chuckled at it when I saw it and asked why but now I’m glad I stuck around because it’s been a great time. Keep it up Skape. On the drive back u should grab ur original car when u find it and when u get home find that trophy in ur addic. That would be amazing.

I started watching the 1st episode when you had 1K subs, you talked in that video about how the 50 subscribers would be watching and I looked at the sub count and thought to my self, this dude made it... and here we are, you are now at 5.6k subs and I watched all 87 episodes of the Long Drive Season 1....
Can't believe I threw my life away like this ahahahaha. I kid, thank you so much, I enjoyed every one of those episodes It helped me keep sane while I searched for a job that I lost in 2020.
I got the Long Drive myself because of you, I play it time to time, have the same car you finished this game with. However, I have the bus engine and the bus tires. You're right, it's crazy, but I am enjoying the challenge of keeping it upright while I tackle the steering hahaha.

The Long Drive: Homeward bound! It's been such a ride... Very literally. SkapeGote, may you continue to grow - be it one at a time or hundreds at a time - and give smiles and laughter to any and all who seek it. Keep being you, and keep doing what you enjoy so we can enjoy it with you. Thank you for 87 road-lotion filled episodes of devil roads, Karens (the good kind), and many many hours of entertainment.
Things always slow down but I am happy the way things have been going.
In the latest dev update for TLD they mention that multiplayer is suffering from some issues when it comes to the players/objects being synced. Stuff about how the further you move from the "origin"(your house) starting 2.5 KM from said house, everything breaks because you're allotted less and less "resolution" for your car to move(the smoothest being at the center of the origin at a crisp >1mm), so the car essentially shatters when the resolution becomes low enough to cause the car to rip itself apart due to the games engine. Singleplayer fixes this with the auto save mechanic by essentially creating a new car identical to the old one, "This is fixed in singleplayer by just teleporting back everything if the player is above a certain distance (2.5 km) from the origin and keeping track of the distances teleported back in "higher resolution" variables." I think the massive auto-save spikes are caused by 1)your distance from the origin and 2) the amount of stuff it seems the games has to load back in to fix your car.
Or maybe I'm wrong, love the series!

I can't get enough of this game. I bought it myself because of your videos, and though I have only gotten past 1000km so far, I've watched dozens of streamers and Tubers play. I don't know what it is about this simple game... it's so interesting despite the simple concept and repetition. There's something about not knowing what is over the next hill!
I avoided the "end" videos, though, because that was going to be a moment to share with Skapegote. And now I have, so I can watch other people finish it, and eventually do it myself. Grats again and see you on the flip side!

well that was pretty disappointing after 87 episodes, great job on all the videos though your great i just figured they'd have something at the end of the road, will keep watching for the drive home

Thank you Skapegote, and Jacob, and everyone else. This series gave me a bunch of laughs right at the best times. Maybe change the arms to a Stegosaurus with 9 on the LEFT and 8 on the RIGHT, just until you find a bus, okay? Then you can do whatever you like. Use one of the compasses to help you remember which way is back to the bus, and if that's off the road use another one in the bus to remind you which way the road is. Head to the nearest ship, see if it has pure diesel, and use a jerry can to carry some of it back. Repeat as needed.
The return is going to be worse lol
