Fat guy Thor makes no sense!
Endgame began what I call the "Star Wars Sequel Trilogy" approach to Thor in that every movie with him is now undermining the previous one. For that reason I saw no point to even watching Love And Thunder. I loved Ragnarok (before Marvel went woke, Dark World was among the MCU's weaker entries) and Thor as a character peaked in Infinity War.
But Chris, and I cannot stress this enough, you owe us nothing. Anyone disappointed in Love And Thunder does not trust Marvel to do your character justice anymore. I certainly don't.
I don't want to see what Marvel is going to continue to do to Thor. In the first movie Thor turned out good but in the long run a powerful and handsome straight White male can only be degraded at Marvel.
The reason Thor Ragnarok is the only widely beloved out of the Thor movies is beacause it's the only one with a female villain.
It doesn't surprise me that when people talk about female villains they end up talking about how hot they are, ignoring how they are actually written. This is why they are too easily glorified.
Here’s the problem. Every individual superhero in a larger universe often has his or her own microcosm of friends and foes , secondary and tertiary characters, within that universe. MCU Thor has lost all of his. Parents? Dead. Close friends (Heimdal, Warrior’s Three)? Dead. His people? On the brink of extinction. Love interest? Dead. Homelands? Destroyed. Thor’s personal character arc, growing from arrogant and impulsive to the wise and thoughtful eventual king of Asgard? Rendered meaningless when he’s destined to rule the equivalent of a sleepy Scandinavian village and not the grand and beautiful realm from the mind of Kirby. Trying to restore all he lost might be a good place to start, but that’s the main plot of DC’s Infinite Crisis, where That was the exact plan of Alexander Luthor. You know? THE VILLAIN? Just as with Star Wars, Disney pissed away opportunities for Thor to be a great character for sake of woke and jokes.
Yeah thor 5 another stoey about thor having to discover who he is...if he is going to do a final mobie then i would want to see a no gimmick bad ass thor whatever he choses to do
Was excited for Love and Thunder. Thought Ragnarock was 95% right. But L&T was the worst MCU film I have ever seen. It was a 2hr SNL skit that should have only been a 5 minute skit. Watching that ruined my day with the wife. I think using Thor for humor works, but there’s a delicate art to it.
90% of super hero movies are terrible and boring. I’m glad people are finally getting sick of them.
