He also wanted to team-up with Deadpool which he said was his biggest regret before Logan and he's always wanted Wolverine to interact with other Marvel characters and now he can.
I think the only reason Hugh Jackman is doing one last round as Wolverine is because after Logan he mistakenly said he would return to the role if the character were to become part of the MCU. I'm sure he regrets saying that now given the condition of the franchise.
I would bet it had more to do with Ryan. They are buddies and he knew it was going to be a blast. I truly doubt he would have come back with the current dumpster fire that is Disney.

I was 14 when X Men came to theaters and having been a fan of the comics and cartoon, I was dissatisfied with the film and subsequent films, there really hasn’t been a good X Men movie…
The MCU seems to be riding all it's hopes on Deadpool 3. I loved the first two movies and while I cannot stand post-endgame MCU,I desperately hope Deadpool 3 manages to be somewhat good...despite all odds
Ric Flair came back from his "last match" all the time. When the fans didn't back him, he knew to stay down. Hugh is smart enough to do this, but be able to read the room.
Deadpool is expected to make big numbers, I wouldnt be surprised if its the first "only MCU movie" in a long while so they can go; "See, it was a superhero fatigue issue all long" if it does well.
Thank you! we all wanted the X-men movies to be good, but aside from some scenes that visually looked great because we had only seen them in comic panels, or a poorly animated cartoon, they were all a letdown.

The X men films probably have the biggest fall in film history, most people are not even aware that Dark Phoenix and New Mutants even exist. Even Masie Williams (the lead in New Mutants) told people not to go see it. The only other film I know of that pulled off that feat was Leonard Part 6.
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to "Deadpool & Wolverine". Not sure if it'll save the MCU at this point, but I'm still waiting until I see a trailer for their "Fantastic Four" reboot, but if that artwork is anything to go on, it looks like it'll be the Camel that'll break the MCU's back.
Nah. I liked some X-Men movies and hated others. If we make arguments of liberties that the Fox X-Men movies made.....you can argue the same thing with the MCU.

Jackman has always wanted to play in the MCU since it launched, so I'm not that surprised that he'd come back for this. Also he and Reynolds being friends probably had something to do with it. And a truck load of money.
He's in a lot of trouble. Threatened a transsexual journalist/blogger, faked a bomb threat on an airplane while drunk, beat up a girlfriend, has a drug problem and Narcissistic Personality Disorder which make him impossible to work with - and that's just off the top of my head. I'm fine with "Not Domino" not returning. Domino is a serious, no nonsense mercenary who hates Wade's flippant idiocy yet will still work with him because he has the skills to accomplish whatever mission she's on. That Domino relied on her training and skill, with her luck powers coming in clutch to tip the scales in her favor.
