    You know what I would love to see? A breakdown of each one of these homes… With photos of the interiors. You could narrate and tell us things about each one. What I’ve learned about being a CZcams influencer is that you can always break down topics further and further into more detail for your viewers. I, for one, would absolutely love to see the interiors of each of these castles palaces and homes. Thank you for all you do!

      It’s a lot of homes. BUT the question is who actually owns them. Simple: Balmoral and Sandringham privately owned be the King. Same goes for Highgrove. Buckingham palace, Windsor, St James’ and Kensington as well as I think Clarence house, may be royal residences but they are owned by the Crown, not the King or a member of the royal family. It is like with the crowns. The Imperial StateCrown, not to mention St Edward’s crown and the scepter and orb do not belong to the monarch. The monarch gets to wear them, or live in the palaces but it is part of the job. It isn’t his personal possession. On the other hand there are properties like Balmoral, that are his personal holiday home and a fabulous collection of jewels and paintings that are part of the royal collection. Crown and royal family, two distinct things not always easy to untangle.

      England? Why do Americans always say England when the video is about the whole United Kingdom . The UK comprises Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, not just England. The monarch is not, as so many Americans seem to think, the Queen or King "of England ", but monarch of the whole of the UK.

    Breathtaking. I'm always fascinated by the cash to maintain (staff, upkeep of its physical structures) and whether all that is private or British tax payers foot much of the bill but get none of the benefits. At a human level, I'm also just in awe how many homes a family needs! My 1800 square foot rambler is a normal American 1950's home and just fine. It's hard to emotionally grasp someone calling several places "home" and whether you buy many of the same item for those creature comforts you want when you're in somewhere you call home (vs staying a hotel.) Of course, this fascination is one reason I fell in love with your show and now your CZcams channel! :)

    My favorite is and easy one. Llwynywermod, King Charles' home in Wales. The palaces are grand and I would love to tour them and even be able to stay a night or two, but Llwynywermod is a home I would happily live in. The renovations they made to the place are lovely, environmentally friendly, respect the history of the house and give it cozy, country charm. I think it's probably Charles' favorite residence to visit.

Do not give up this dream that in some grand way it will all come back. It is not really asking too much.
    Thank you for this interesting and very educational information about the 30 -plus Royal Homes of the royals. The only thing is moving that much or just trying to stay in so many homes throughout the year could be quite confusing and pulling up your roots in that way is not always stabilizing the family.. But sharing it with your grown family and making sure extended and close family, all have places to live, is highly regarded.

    Sorry to correct you , Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle are Not owned by the royals , the Queen had just two private propertys , Balmoral estate and Sandringham, everything inside royal residences is old handed down or gifted .

  • @paintedpilgrim
    @paintedpilgrim Před 21 dnem

    Just a couple of slight corrections if I may, the Royal Family only own Balmoral House and Sandringham outright and those pass down the line through Charles and William, after being "bought" back by George VI from the Edward when he abdicated etc, the majority of other properties you mention are controlled/owned by one of two entities, one being the Crown Estates, which manage the likes of Buckingham Palace and Clarence House and secondly the Historic Royal Palaces which control and manage the likes of Hampton Court Palace and the Tower of London.
    The exceptions being the likes of Gatcombe Park, Barnwell and Thatched House Lodge which were privately owned, by their royal inhabitants.
    As for Hampton Court, that was originally built for Cardinal Wolsey and "gifted" (taken from him) to Henry VIII before he died, and massively expanded by Henry VIII and by later Monarchs until the whole new wing was built by William and Mary following the Restoration.
    Llwynwermod is also available to rent through the Duchy of Cornwall.

      And we haven't even talked about the houses they own overseas, commercial property or London properties they own and manage or lease.

    Major Omission - She failed to say that St.James's Palace is the senior palace, and that foreign missions are accredited to the Court of St James's

    I wonder how much it would cost to pay all of the Admission Fees to tour all of these Royal residences that are open for tours. I've toured only Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.

    I think I would like to visit Sandringham House or the Castle of Mey. Also Highgrove is just beautiful and I would love to see Birkhall as well.
