This house is so gorgeous, I adore the original colors. I once had cart blanche to paint a dreadful old rental and wow, did I, just using old scraps of paint, all sorts of colors and it was fabulous, quite muted colors except for a very vibrant, pale green, which made it all sing and I did one, all grey ceiling, which was fabulous, people loved it. This is such a warm, lived in House, truly lovely. One thing I have noticed in most of these wonderful old homes, is a lack of potted plants, no greenery. The Victorians had their favorites, like ferns and aspidistras. Is there a particular reason not to have potted plants, mildew, watering damages, etc? Oh, there are lovely discreet potted plants and of course no house is complete without flowers, this is just so beautiful.

What a wonderful old kitchen space, so brilliant that the main features will be preserved. A lot of British people are very petite even now. Oh, I love the connection to Jane Austen.

Thanks once again Julie - excellent episode. I came for the globes, but stayed for the shell bed, fabulously bonkers.

The Princess of Wales now has a fourth tiara at her disposal. She wore the Strathmore Rose tiara for the first time at a state banquet on 21 November 2023. The only person to have worn it before was Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.

I watch a lot of British history documentaries and this is one of the most unique and fascinating ones bc of the unique situation of this family. Utterly amazing to hear about their Catholic roots and the family stories through the centuries. Absolutely fascinating thank you so much and cheers to the Stoner family for preserving this history and continuing on so well. Thx again, just the best tale!

Another masterful presentation of a historic building and family.. This property in particular was in the early years of its opening subject to a lot of nonsense, particularly about the house, so I really appreciated the straightforward explanation of what it really represents.

This, along with a love of history and a fascination with great families and great houses, has made me spend countless hours going down CZcams "rabbit holes". Yours is one of my favorites. This has been by far my favorite AV episode!! As a Catholic, this particularly resonated as I have a son named after Edmund Campion. The family history of this historic house is amazing!! The home and gardens are stunning and the family is so gracious and welcoming!
