    It's strange how The Race defending Alonso's penality both in the review video and the podcast when they stated multiple times how wrong it is to penalize a driver based on the outcome rather than the action itself, which is exactly what happened here. If Russel didn't crash this whole thing woudn't even be mentioned and we are talking about a guy who is known to make mistakes under pressure, hell he could have crashed without Alonso doing anything at all like he did in Singapore.

      @fundude365 Před měsícem +1

      I'm not sure that follows, my understanding was that the _severity_ of the penalty should not be informed by the results of the incident.
      Say one driver _tries_ to brake-test another driver, but it backfires and the 2nd driver just evades and passes them. The 1st driver _still_ should be penalised, because they were driving dangerously, even though they were the only one who suffered from their actions.

    I saw it on Jeddah, where Verstappen was the only one without DRS and here, the same for Sainz. Driving in clean air gaves you a massive advantage. De la Rosa said here the DRS was worth 1 sec. With these regs and tires, once you are in front and can manage the tires you have won 90% of the race

    No, sorry gentlemen against all expectations derived from the so called data, nothing indicated a fight for the leading position during the first 3 laps we saw Verstappen and Sainz on track together. We know now that Max was driving a car with the handbrake on, gradually getting worse until the brake gripped firmly at the wheel and finally exploded in the Pitt lane.
    If this slowing down had not happened Verstappen would have raced himself out of the overtake reach and disappeared in the distance.

    Full agreement for Alonso’s penalty against a Merc. SHOCKER!!!!! If Alonso is guilty of the most unsafe thing a driver can do (brake test) then he should be banned for multiple races and fined. But no one actually believes that, because the telemetry matched his story exactly. There’s no grey area for a brake test, either he did or did not. @@alexpeak16great point. Leclerc is not showing anything that says he’s an amazing driver. Talented yes but as you said, Sainz is taking those wins, he’s the one setting the pace at Ferrari and is the one bringing those 1st place trophies to Ferrari not Leclerc. Leclerc could be out qualifying Sainz in every single race but if Sainz is bringing home the win then who’s really the better driver?

    Why am I surprised that just english wanna-be-f1-fans are the only ones who think Alonso's penalty was fair. You're not f1 fans, you're tea and ducks fans.

    max's DNF was weird , unprecented , uncomprehensible and uexplainable , it's like it has been done on purpose , the mechanic who has placed the braking discs should be severely punished and fired asap , because he costed max his 57th race win and has costed redbull a huge money loss

      That’s exactly how I felt! Like ain’t no way! They can see the brakes aren’t cool from the formation lap and didn’t call him in.

      Harsh, you are clearly a passionate Max fan. Wouldn’t want you to be my boss. Next time you make a mistake though and cost your employer money should your pay check be garnished? Or if it is a whopper of a mistake you get axed and feel that is fair. Or if you were not fired would you willingly resign?
      If the answer to the above three questions is yes then you are consistent and apply the same standards to yourself and others. Tough but universal ideals.
      But to err is human. RB will not make the same mistake again. And perhaps it was a faulty part perfectly installed and calibrated? And if that is the case do you advocate that the part manufacturer or RB employee if RB made the part be sh*t canned to?
      Speaking for myself only this is likely a speed bump on the journey to another stellar season for RB and Max.

    max has gotten a dnf 😭 i literally wanna cry for god's sake , god damn it , i really don't understand why the fuck redbull has kept the same braking discs and they didn't change the braking fucking discs , because both max and sergio have complained about braking issues , this is totally uncomprehensible , unexplainable , uncessary and completely uncalled for , this is called negligence and nonchalance , they have costed max his 57 th win , what a dreadful and miserable weekend , it's weekend to forget just like singapore 23
