We are Madurai Mani Bakhts. Superb rendition. The raga and song required slow paced rendition and MMI immaculately performs it. The accompanying artists what can we say. Simply melodious.

and the speed . Gifted Musician. Had the Blessings of Sarguru Thiyagaraja. God must give a Rebirth to the Legends of this concert.

Each concert of MMI feels like his brest! This concert is probably better than best because of accompanists, Chowdiah & Pazhani anna. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! Enna valantalai & toppi!
Yes... Wonder how they catch the sound perfectly at that time where only single mic was mostly used to record main artist and accompanists.
Also wonder.... how it would have been to experience the sound live

Superb Recording! Deva Gaanam by Madurai Mani Iyer. We could understand why he was one of the greatest vidwans in swaraprasthara. Impeccable control of Sruthi & Laya and what a speed and accuracy! Just try maintaining the thaalam for Manasunilpa to enjoy his original manodharma in Swaras!

Thanks Mr Raju for sharing one of the Gems of concert . Could you please upload the balance of the concert . Long ago in 1970 , I had the fortune of listening to this concert in one of my relatives house . It had RTP in Lathangi , another gem in this concert . Hence the request. Regards
You had long back uploaded a great concert of MMI,Chowdiah,Palghat Mani Iyer.I do not see it nowadays.Could you pl again upload it again.
He has sung the Muthuswami Deekshithar's kriti 'Angaraham' in a pedestrian manner, although the swarams are good. Compare it with the rendering of the same krithi . by Dr.S.Ramanathan who brought out the beauty of the krithi.
Come on man...MMI is beyond comparison. If you hear brindas kriti rendition, everybody else will pale. It's not just kriti but the overall experience that matters. MMI music has no parallels
Madurai mani iyers sangitham cannot be compared with others especially Dr. S. Ramanathan.
It is belittling the Widwans to compare with one another. Everyone has/had his/her own manodharma in rendering krithis. One has just to enjoy the music.
