I had heard a lot legendary stories about four pillars of Music Ariyakkudi (new sampradaya) GNB (Brika - sparkling music, striking lightning that brightens the entire sky), (Carnatic music - more popular than any pop music and innovatar par excellance) Semmangudi who showed all these rain bow that appeared are akk part of sons of mother called Carnatic Music. Four out standing pillars of C. M.
Immortal music.....looks like Lalgudi on violin and on mirudhangam it is Iyerwal...and Canjera...not sure but another Jambhavan for sure... wha-re-wha..
Rangachari Raghavachari: Awesome Raga alapana by MMI and equally incredible alapana by Lalgudi on violin. Really Mind Blowing as titled!. Enjoy the legend PMI 's mridhangam just lifting the concert to a higher plane. Just immerse in the flowing musical river and enjoy. Thats what adiyen is doing right now ! Sometimes I feel while listening to MMI singing like this . there is nothing else left in life to long for than listening to MMI 's singing. " Vasa vari sakala deva" what a niraval !! cant stop tears flowing from my eyes

ha ha ha yes. I just saw your comment and realised that i was smiling. Also realised that i always do this when i listen to Shri MM. Especially with Lalgudi. The accompaniment during the Thaara sthayi in the raagam. Magnificent isn't it? Such a great musician. And what an incredible partnership this was. Many times MM echoes what Lalgudi has played. And this is often magical. Later realised how much of this singing and melody (also that of GNB's) got reflected when Shri Lalgudi played solo violin concerts. Hari
This rendition has the whole package. Fantastic neraval, the rhythmic swarams starting 29:15 and vintage MMI at 30:40. The mridangam does not sound like PMI, most likely it is CS Murugaboopathy. Also the Kanjira is excellent, who is the artist/vidwan?
It sad we have forgotten many Kambhoji like Evari mata, Subrrahmanyaya namaste, Maragathavalli etc. Only Oh! Rangasayee. Are we loosing other gems (Navaratna). I hope not.
May legends like Ariyakudi,GNB,Semmangudi,Chembai have sung this song.I have listened live to Ariyakudi and MMI singing this song.Ariyakudi had the reputation that he was the best on this song.I would rate MMI on par with Ariyakudi.I do not see many modern singers not singing Evarimata these days

when we four , determined searchers ,got this with an auditor Vijayaraghavan, we were dumbfounded for a month in 2008.
We are really blessed to hear this wonderful and unique way of singing.
