  • In this video, I show you how to apply organic seaweed liquid to your lawn using a knapsack sprayer. You can use a watering can if desired.
The seaweed I am using is from a brand called Multi Mite and is very inexpensive. You can order yours from Amazon here: amzn.to/3NSdD0D (affiliate link)
If you'd like to see all the products and tools I am using I have a free PDF download. You can grab it free of charge by joining my email newsletter here: lawnright.co.uk/diy/freebies/...
This video is part of a series. I actually purchased a load of lawn care products from Amazon and documented the buying process. The idea is that I will buy them and use them on my own lawn and explain how you can do the same.
The first video is called Lawn care shopping list
The 2nd video is called setting up your knapsack sprayer
The 3rd video is called how to apply lawn weedkiller to your lawn (this video)
The 4th video is called how to apply seaweed to your lawn
The 5th video is called how to apply fertiliser to your lawn
The full playlist for these is here: • SHOPPING LIST
All the above videos have been made with the idea of helping YOU improve your lawn. We do it together then I can help you through it.
If you've enjoyed this video I'd love a thumbs up on the like button and a subscribe if you found it to be of value.
    Thanks!

I buy fertiliser from this lawn company and usually has seaweed in the spring and summer fertiliser range. My lawn usually looks good in summer.
Just recently brought a liquid seaweed and was music to my ears that I can apply regularly even in winter (obviously when not frozen) now can have my summer lawn all year round haha well chuffed. Glad to hear it's good on clay soils!

I do this a few times a year with wormtea and with muck (is that the correct word in English) ratio between 1:10 and 1:15.
Will appy more often after seeing your video and see how the lawn reacts to it.

Hi thanks... Im not too bothered/loyal to any brand (I do like stihl for their reliability and ability to handle a lot of work) but a decent engine is key (briggs and stratton or honda).. as for stripes, any mower with a rear roller will put stripes in... if youve got a flat lawn you may invest in a cylinder mower (Mine is an old antiquated model I got of facebook marketplace for £40)

The application rate should be 10ml liquid seaweed per litre of water *per sq.m* of lawn.
The recommended dosage for a 50 sq.m lawn like this would be least 10ml x 50 = 500ml liquid seaweed in 50 litres of water. The ratio of seaweed to water can be increased as stated for established lawns but should be reduced for seedlings.
It only appears to be inexpensive because only 10% of the required product has been applied!

Shaun, a bit premature but I have a question to ask about fertilizing my lawn next spring.
I reseeded in early September with a mixture of dwarf rye and fescues. The fescues are still taking a time to come through so it is looking a bit sparce in areas.
I have just applied preseed again and am about to give a second dose of seaweed before the cold weather starts.
Next spring I shall be overseeding after lightly scarifying and top dressing.
Sorry about the long winded question but...what fertilizer should I use after overseeding? The original grass will be about 7 months old when I overseed but of course there will be new grass coming through.

    • @LawnRight

Hi it should be fine. What if suggest is walk it with just water first a few times to get used to spraying and see if you get any on the pavers. Then you can go for it.. also leave a bit unsprayed at one end.. wipe your feet on it, step off, then spray that.. keep well off till dry
If its windy dont do it.. you could also tilt your spraying hand a bit so so the one side of your spray that's closest to the edging is angled down a bit.. practice practice first using just water. Iron s awful to remove
