- Combat the scorching summer heat on your lawn this summer with this natural solution. Introducing a powerful organic fertilizer derived from dried and processed seaweed extract, this product is rich in essential nutrients that promote robust plant growth, enhance soil structure, and foster the growth of beneficial soil microbes. As extreme droughts become increasingly prevalent, this solution is an absolute necessity for ensuring your lawn's health and resilience. Discover the secrets to protecting your lawn from the challenges of summer heat in this informative video, where we delve into the benefits, application methods, and remarkable outcomes of this exceptional organic fertilizer.
When used as a lawn fertilizer, sea kelp offers a multitude of advantages. It stimulates root growth, enhances nutrient uptake, aids in stress management, and increases water-holding capacity. Moreover, being 100% organic, sea kelp is safe for both pets and humans. If you prioritize the well-being of your loved ones and seek a natural solution for your lawn, organic sea kelp is the ideal choice.
In scorching temperatures, grass can suffer from dehydration and struggle to absorb nutrients effectively. Sea kelp, however, contains natural plant hormones and compounds that help grass cope with environmental stressors. It improves the grass's ability to absorb water and nutrients, ensuring optimal health even in challenging conditions.
Impressed with the remarkable results, the video creator has personally tested sea kelp on a dedicated area of their lawn. In a region plagued by high temperatures and scarce rainfall, the difference between the treated and untreated areas is striking. To apply sea kelp to your lawn, a foliar application is recommended, wherein the liquid form of sea kelp is sprayed directly onto the grass blades. It is crucial to allow the application to settle on the grass leaves for at least four hours without rain or irrigation before watering it in, ensuring the nutrients are thoroughly absorbed through the soil.
For those seeking a quality sea kelp product, GS Plant Foods offers an excellent option. Their highly affordable sea kelp product covers an impressive area of 64,000 square feet and has received rave reviews. Additionally, the company's website introduces another remarkable product called "Green Envy." This unique blend of humic acid, fulvic acid, kelp, microbes, hormones, and vitamins provides a comprehensive solution for enhancing your lawn's health. While the specific details of the proprietary blend remain undisclosed, this product has garnered interest due to its potential benefits.
To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to combine 2 oz of sea kelp, 4 oz of Green Envy, and 1 gallon of water per 1000 square feet in a foliar application. Adding a small amount of dish soap as a surfactant ensures proper adhesion to the grass blades. Applying this mixture every week to week and a half over the past month has yielded impressive outcomes in the test area. It is essential to time the application correctly, aiming for morning or evening when the stomata of the plant are open to maximize absorption. Midday applications are less effective in this regard.
Take advantage of the remarkable benefits of sea kelp and transform your lawn into a vibrant, healthy oasis. With its organic nature and proven results, sea kelp is the go-to choice for promoting optimal plant growth and combating stress in your lawn. Try sea kelp today and witness the incredible difference it can make for your outdoor space.

A couple things to note about Sea Kelp.
#1. Sea Kelp still NEEDS water and other nutrients to assist with effects. Sea kelp by itself is not a lawn remedy. It is one tool in your belt that will help with your lawn and should be treated as such. It will not transform your lawn by itself.
#2. Do not apply Sea Kelp to dormant grass. If your grass is already dormant, it's too late to apply it. This is to help your grass before it reaches dormancy.
#3. Sea Kelp will not burn your lawn and you cannot over apply it. That being said, it's ok to go over the recommended rate but you don't need to go crazy.

Thank you man! It sucks waiting months to create content sometimes but most of the time it's worth it.

@@LAWNLIFE hey man i know you talk about weekly nitrogen blitz in fall. Why is it for so many years lawn care gurus say will say only treat 4 times a year. Any more will "over stress" the lawn. You see it commonly in big box lawn care services they only recommend 4 times a year otherwise it can hurt your lawn. Whats your take on that?
I really enjoy watching a variety of channels talk about very similar products or the same product because I like to hear the different ways of explaining it to make Sure I fully understand the product. Your explanations have been wonderful
Love this video. The first one I have seen that does an actual test of sea kelp w/visual results. Great explanation.
The results are obvious. Good, simple, and straight to the point video. I assume since you're in Minnesota, you have some cool season grass going there. It looks like fescue that has been cut at about 2 inches. You're lawn might look even greener if you cut it higher. I'm speaking as a lawn care guy from the transition zone in NC and our TTTF lawns could not survive the brutal heat at 2 inches. With that being said, I'm gonna head over to Amazon and get some of this to try on some of my fescue lawns. I think it will improve them a great deal, THANKS!
Good product and well said. Humic on it's own does a great job and the kelp really improves the root structure. You can mirror their "proprietary" blend with a teaspoon of Superthrive and a 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid added per 1K.
@lawnlife - thanks a ton for demonstrating the test patch results. I am facing a similar near drought situation in central Maryland and would follow suit. Good day!
If it's already dormant, it's too late to apply, but if it's still green definitely put it down!
@@LAWNLIFE yes I will apply only in the active regions. Just ordered.
Nice results bro!
Never tried kelp, gonna have to check it out!
Definitely do it. Can't wait to finally put it on the rest of my lawn!
Great video. I am interested in whether the color of the kelp spray played a role in the darker color or if it is the nutrients. I am thinking the only way to test might be doing a follow up when one area has gone completely dormant.
Another great video. To the point and great information. I did my second dose of Kelp + Humic this morning. So far so good.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the content!
Just started watching you and your approach is awesome. Keep up the good work
Thanks brother. I appreciate it!
Loving that Sea Kelp! New for me but I can really tell a difference as I head into the heat in central CA.
Glad it's working! Thanks for watching!
I've read in many places that it is better for the grass to let it grow taller, e.g. 2.5" - 3". In another video, you said that you mow your Kentucky Bluegrass down to 5/8". It would be awesome if you could do a test area to compare the pros and cons of shorter vs taller grass height. My wife actually wants me to cut our grass shorter, but for now I'm siding with taller in belief that it requires less water, fertilizer and weed killer to stay healthy. While my neighbors do mow shorter, it's not a valid comparison, because everyone has different practices in addition to the height. E.g., some water every morning and I only water when it's starting to go dormant. (I've had dormant areas actually die completely in the past, so I think it's cheaper/easier to water enough to keep it healthy.)
Sold! Just purchased a backpack sprayer and ordered the liquid kelp. Excited to see the results.
Definitely apply it every week to get the best results. Good luck!
Hey cousin! How did the Ryobi backpack sprayer workout for you?
Very interesting 🤔
Thanks 👍🏽
I'm sorry for the drought starting so early for so many. I'm very pleased, southern NH is having a great spring for grass. We've had cool nights, getting plenty of rain and sunny days. My grass is looking better every day, I'm, trying hard not to screw it up. Seems like I always make some mistake.
In Massachusetts and I made a mistake. I now have leaf spot/melting out on my TTTF. Set my water times too long and with the rain we’ve been getting caused my problem. Ow I’m trying to correct it. Neighbors are asking what happened to the best lawn in the neighborhood. 😔
@@myboy051 I had to read about the leaf spot/ melting out pathogen, now I know, thanks. I don't have irrigation yet, otherwise I'm sure my lawn would be melting out & looking terrible. I'm still trying to bring back some areas of winter kill, next winter I'm going to keep the snow plow off the grass, stake it out and snowblow because all the areas of lawn that were plowed off got too cold and froze or something because it's all dead. I seeded those areas but my seed was left over from last year and didn't grow so I think that the grass seed got too cold in the garage or too damp, IDK. Someday I'll get it right and I'll have the best lawn in the neighborhood, even better than the policeman living up the road.
I have a lawn that was laid in October 2022, on hard clay. It had been surviving on the dirt it came with and likely by barely rooting into the hard clay. I think of adding topsoil of some sort to help with growth and too establishing. Would you think it’s a good idea to do that? What type of topsoil would you recommend? Waiting for rain and temps to go down a bit to work on it. Thank you
Like I said before, your videos are on point. Very detailed. Extremely educational. And very well spoken
I appreciate the kind words Kevin. Glad you enjoy the content!
I love your content brother. Subscribed!
I just put the same kelp on my yard last night. I put the kelp down with there humic acid and fulvic acid, and there fish stuff. I'm going to try lighter doses every week and see how that does. I also put in 1 Oz of each product in a gallon jug and watered my plants in the garden.
I wouldn't be scared to throw it down in large amounts if you're doing it every week. Unless you're trying to preserve the product. This is one of the few things you can apply thick in the summer time and see results
I live in Virginia in a new construction home where my developer scraped our topsoil off and shipped it out and never looked back. I’m struggling keeping my grass even alive due to the red clay I’m working with. I’m watering, fertilizing, I’ve aerated, I’ve dethatched. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to cultivate my entire yard (can’t afford the amount of topsoil I would need), and reseed. I’m wondering if the existing grass being turned with the soil would decompose and help release nutrient to the soil and give me a fresh start at having (hopefully) soil that isn’t compacted and struggling to provide any nutrients. Thoughts?
Add The Andersons Biochar, most of our soils are clay and lack carbon, which helps to retain water, nutrients, and all the good stuff. It also has Humic acid. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the recommendation. I have very sandy soil, which would probably help also. Just not last as long
Showing results in the same video 👍👍👍
Those results were from weekly applications for a month. I like to show results whenever possible!
Yes, Green Envy is great. Been using for years and the smell 😅.
I don't smell it at all when applying it. When I cracked open the bottle I got a good whiff 😂
My Lawn Was Thick And Green, Accomplished this By Watching Your Videos. Some Lawn Company Came And Sprayed Urea, Axilo 5, And MSM 60DF Herbicide on A Day When The Temperature Was 94 Degrees. Now My Lawn Looks Yellow, The Next Day. I Had A Bad Feeling About That Too. Should I Apply Those Products Now, Or Wait Until Those Previous Products Wears Out? Columbia SC Weather
🔥 results!
Thanks man! I was surprised. Wish the green up effects lasted longer. But it is what it is!
@@LAWNLIFE can’t win them all
I used that product, you had way better results then me, i didn't see any change, and felt it was a waste of extra money, it's better then nothing, but i would put that extra money and buy hydretain, if you're on a tight budget and don't bother just water your grass
Were you putting it on weekly? I didn't notice anything at first but after a month it was very apparent
Put some down yesterday with humic. It stinks but it works well. Putting down hydretain this year too.
My next video is testing hydretain to see if it's a scam. Ppl swear by it and I'm not sure about it. Gonna do a test plot on part of my lawn and see what happens. My camerman said the kelp stunk, I don't really smell it that much to be honest. Weird.
I've been sitting on a bottle of hydretain for a couple years and haven't put it down yet. We're SO dry down here this year.
Hello soldier, great video.
Hot summer between 38-44C temps.
Water every 7-10 days only with hose ,no sprinklers ,with HOSE,no sprinklers.
Water for 1-2 hours.
No more cutworms,no more problems, grass holds on well this way.
All watering in morning.
Wet grass at night=problems,bugs,cutworms.
Mow at highest setting, once a week.
Worked at a golf club and used these 1.5" hose sprayer attachments that had these huge sea kelp "pucks" inside of them. When we'd spray the fairways with regular water it would just soak in, but when you added the sea kelp, it would act as a surfactant and really help the water stick to the ground and soak in. The affect was like when you go to the beach and see the seafoam stuck to the sand as the tide would pull back.
Personally, i swear by this shit getting turf through the summer.
I didn't realize they made sea kelp pellets. Interesting. Any other tricks of the trade that you can share about working on the golf course?
Oh snap great job bro. Definitely want to check these products out as I already use GS's Humid Acid.
John! Where have you been lately? Hope all is well my friend!
Try the yucca and kelp by gs plant food. I’m a turf grad. Golf course builder and super from massachusetts. It’s a good wetting agent along with kelp and trace micros. Great vids👍 You and the yardbrah. Killin it
They have a lot of interesting products that I want to try. And they're pretty cheap for the most part! I don't know much about Yucca. Might have to dive in and do some research. I'm glad you're enjoying the content bro!
First Aussie 😁. Jesse,a great informative video . 😎
Bro where have you been all year? I think this is the first video you've commented on. Been boycotting my content I see 😂
I use their Root Ruckus, which seems like a mix of the two
They have a lot of interesting stuff. I want to dabble with some more of their products!
Would you apply weed control first or Humic acid ?
@LAWN LIFE could you make a video or a CZcams short about how to use a sprayer properly and how to spray the proper amount and what to to do when you have that little extra left in your tank when your done?
Yes I need to do this. Thank you for the reminder
Would this on new sod and clay?
Can kelp be over applied? I have multiple products that contain sea kelp and didn’t know if I could over do it on the kelp when combining them all. Thanks for your videos, I really enjoy your content 👍🏼
Don't know why I didn't answer this but anything can be over applied if you go way overboard. But I've doubled the rate of kell and had good success to be honest
I been looking at this green envy product, you said you apply it around every week do you have to apply it that often just to keep it green or for it help improve your soil. I don't really want to apply something that often maybe once a month would be ok.
Good video. You cut out all the fluff and focused on shop talk. I like that you also include proof in most of your videos! Keep them coming.
How much more fluff do you want me to cut? And what shop talk do you want? It was only a 5.5 minute video

So if my lawn has started to be light greenish yellowish, im guessing its going dormant? I cant apply anything? Kelp, iron, nitrogen 5-5-5 sprayer?
Trying kelp for the for the first time. Thank you for the idea. Question - after application in the morning as you suggested, do i need to water it in?
No. Let it sit on the leaf blade for at least 4 hours and then you can water it in whenever you want. Keep applying every week. Took around 3 weeks to start getting very noticeable results
Great video. Can we mix it i with our dose of Urea and Feature? Since both are foliage applications too?
Only thing I would worry about is the tank clogging up. As far as being mixed together, I'm sure you're good to go. I don't see any harm in it

Hell yeah bro. I'm glad you're seeing results. Spoon feeding is the best thing you can do for your lawn in my opinion if you have the time!
Good video. Can you apply both the sea kelp and the humic at the same time?
Yes, that was what I was doing in my test plot. Those results were from weekly applications for a month
Does using antibacterial soap vs. a milder soap make any difference? Have always heard to never use antibacterial soaps as surfactants since it counteracts any good microbes being applied or already within the soil.
You should definitely avoid antibacterial if you can. I should've mentioned that.
I’ve started the feature/urea Foliar application, can this be done in conjunction with that plan? Or would that be too much? I figure since these are organic that maybe it can be done? Maybe a week apart? What do you think?
You can do it for sure, I'd just worry about the sprayer getting clogged. I don't think there's any harm in mixing them though
@@LAWNLIFE I am gonna do the Kelp, green envy and yucca wet. Will let you know how that goes

Can this be added qith other fertilizer. For example i just dropped some granular and now saw this. Ideos. So now i wanna do this or do i wait? Thanks
Definitely can put it down at the same time. This doesn't have any nitrogen in it so you don't have to worry about burn
So every week to 2 weeks for application? I have the same sea kelp, going to order the green envy today
Put it down every week for best results

Dude, you think 88 and no rain is bad. That like spring for me when my lawn looks its best. I’m in Northern California and We don’t get rain from May-November. We go 6-8 months with no rain and we get really hot. We get temps up to 115, and with long summer days my lawn sees about 14 hours a day of this intense sizzling direct sun. Try keeping a perfect lawn perfect through this. They say don’t water during the day but I have to. If I only water in the morning my soil will be hard, dry and cracked by the evening. I actually water 4 times a day. I do 4 min every 4 hours.
Ok to apply to new sod installed 2 months ago? Zoysia in Georgia.
Heck yeah. It helps root growth also. Perfect for sod

haha, I like your style....there are a lot of douches out there:). Keep doing your thing...I like your videos. thanks@@LAWNLIFE
I know you said you aren't anti synthetic and neither am I, but consider the acceptance that organics are inherently safer... While some probably are, consider how many patients go to an emergency room for something like a bacterial, fungal or viral infection vs chemical exposure. Things like tetanus are organic bacteria that live in the soil and things that promote bacterial or fungal growth may be beneficial to lawns in some cases, as well as benign to kids and animals, but they also might do the exact opposite by aiding in growth of organic things that are undesirable. Botulism for instance is close to the most deadly toxin known to man and is an organic compound. I just think this shouldn't be boiled down to an ideological simplicity.
He is talking more about stuff like applying 2.4-D vs kelp. Synthetic vs organic is a very general debate
I mean yes, you're right. I could've been a little more detailed on what I meant there, but 95% of the time organic is going to be pretty much harmless compared to synthetic. There's always outliers though
