    Wow what a touching story. Young man make your father proud.
    I Got to watch my son LT Commander Dan Denton walk across the stage and graduate from USNA in tge class of 2010. Thar was a very emotional moment watching his cross that stage.
    I had blown my naval academy appointment back in 1982 so seeing my son graduate from USNA in May of 2010 was a very special moment in time for both of us.

    I am so sorry Paul. I know what it’s like to lose a dad. I lost mine in 1999 on Father’s Day. But your perseverance and strength is a fresh breath air.

      Yes, as officers in their respective branches. They can get waivers if they are drafted into the NFL, though.

      Deep Dave two questions if you don’t mind me asking do they get deployed to other countries and I’m just getting into navy air force and army rivalry I saw cheerleaders at the game is the cheerleaders also students or whatever

      @@josh70812 Any active duty military personnel can be sent overseas. After graduation, they get assigned to a base. That base could be stateside, overseas permanent bases (Germany, Korea, etc), or to a deployment area like Afghanistan or other areas.
      I think all of the academies have cheer squads, dance teams, drill teams, etc.

      @@josh70812 yeah, all the students would graduate and become officers and deployed all around the world. LT Col Gadson (you might remember him from the movie Battleship) played for West Point before being commission as officer and served oversea.

      Yes. I k keep for the Navy you have to do 6 years in the Navy, I dont k k if it's the same for the other branches as well. But to my understanding if you go to the Navy, Marines, Army or Air Force college you have to enlist in that branch of service. After graduation, you are an actual, full time serviceman or woman. They get deployed, stationed overseas and everything any other soldier faces.
