one thing I can say about the Bourne trilogy: it did pave they way for some of the most poorly-made, incomprehensible action films of the 2010's, but at least it had a compelling narrative.

@@SamyulDavis Not what I said at all. In my experience it’s way easier to get a job if someone you know is working somewhere with an opening and thinks to recommend you or tells you you should apply. Management can determine your qualifications and somebody at the job that that they know and like vouches for you to be a good energy around the workplace. Making connections and networking are at least half the battle

Yeah, the original lore is he got major injury during the war that cost him his face and vocal cord.

Its like Darth Maul got the story Snake Eyes was supposed to get.
After watching Black Noir's backstory from The Boys Season 3, it's the closest way how Snake Eyes should've been

The only time I’ve enjoyed shaky cam was in the hunger games because it really gave you like the panicky nauseating feel of when they were reaping the kids names but anytime I see other than that it just annoys me
Snakes eyes straight up ruined that man's life after everything he did for him.
and then he didn't even kill his fathers murderer...like even if it was just a job for the murderer, he still could have finished his goal, instead of wasting his whole time and ruining the Arashikage clan.
@@haroonp8842 I know! The POS had no problem just handing a WMD to a murderous villain, yet won't go through with killing his father's murderer, whose location was traded with handing over said WMD. Also, Snake Eyes could've done some investigating by himself or asked the Arashikage clan for help to find the murderer's location. Instead, the clan nonchalantly welcomes him back after all the terrible things he had done.
@@KnarfStein Ye its really annoying, this film pissed me off - mainly because i saw potential with its good cast and good initial premise but it fails at the story and writing the motives of characters, every decision they made felt so sudden and random at times.
He really did.

So great to see Warrior get a mention. It's such an amazing martial arts series. The fight choreography & action is so incredible. So under appreciated. Glad HBO Max renewed it for a third season!

I was very pleased to see that this movie did justice to Storm Shadow, because it seemed like everyone else except the writers of the original comics made him just a straight up villain. But I'm disappointed that Skake-Eyes' redemption arc did not, in fact, have any redemption. Hindsight is not remorse.

Snake eyes got away with his crimes way too easily.
Plus storm shadow wasn't a complete villain in the last 2 movies.

I was so excited when I saw that they got Iko Uwais. Been a huge fan since I saw the Raid films. He's so awesome. But they wasted him, again! Just like that Mark Wahlberg movie a while back

Snake eyes has an awesome back story... unfortunately it is that he is a disabled veteran that lost his family to a drunk driver but also a white male so not "current" day.
Nope, he was our mute G.I.Jonin from the start. We did get a few flashbacks, through.

Shaky cam is a euphemism for “Why bother spending the time and money necessary to create a spectacular scene, when we can fake out the audience by jostling the cameras during filming? No one will notice our low brow, crappy distraction tactics!”
The problem is that the cast had the potential to get awesome martial arts action scenes but they were wasted by using that shaky cam bull

they had the right people. If they focused without shaky cam for 2 scenes, that gets people talking about the movie, you would have a better chance at saving it. I don't understand why studios do shaky cam anyway. its been proven from the hallway scene in daredevil, The Protector, and many others.

Same here. I was looking forward to it until I heard that it uses Shaky cam. I hate that ish so much. It's so nauseating to watch. The actually got actors who can perform martial arts & a good choreographer but they still went with Shaky cam.

Stormshadow has always been my favorite. Unfortunately he always live in the shadow of Snakeye, even though he's far more complex and interesting. Plus, he joined the JOES once and I have the toy to prove it.
I had all of those GI Joe’s. Slice and dice were brothers in my toy sessions. Dojo was always the grand master. And nunchuck usually died 😂

I went to ninja school and even I managed to pass, despite falling in a river 3x because I can't water walk.
The 2 or 3 flashbacks from the first movie were all the back story I needed for Snake Eyes, not this nonsense that makes me feel bad for Storm Shadow.

The Honest trailer title should've been "shake eyes"
They knew the movie didn't have enough Snake eyes or Storm Shadow that they actually included the ending in the trailer.
also the original 80's Snake Eyes figure was like the cheapest to produce because the thing was only molded in a single color thus saving the paint budget.
Which is great way to show how great things are created by accident: saving paint made them call him commando, then Hamma made him a ninja to balanse storm Shadow, and gave him awasome back story.

In the original GI Joe movies, and the cartoon, Snake Eyes is akin to Batman. He always is in the right place at the right time, he knows exactly what he’s doing, and he has unwavering focus and precision. This movie made him a thug who could box, and then turned into a ninja in like 3 days.
