Randy Orton never was taught the RKO from page..randy just used it without asking.
There has been alot of interviews with ddp and Randy that state this and Randy finally gave his blessing for it.

Ohhhh yeeeeeeeeaaa
Holy SHIT your passion and commitment topro wrestling and making videos for people like me is insanely tippable. A 3 hour video like this is just so impressive, regardless of if its super edited or high quality( which it is!!!)....but wow man, most people couldnt even dream of being this committed to ANYTHING in life. You should be proud of being able to not only think of a video idea like this, and not only starting it with all the research and everything, and not only getting an hour or content, not only getting 2 hours of content and still going, but THREE HOURS?! My goodness my man, youdeserve a trophy lmao. I dont think im over selling this, as a person who has a talent for starting things and NEVER finishing them, I commend you for doing something I could never dream of doing. And whenever I do finish something like this, whether I have a passion for it or not, there is always a noticeable fall off of quality but you never miss a beat. Phenomenal(no AJ) job man, you deserve WAYYYYYYY more subs. Keep at it and the success will come, i promise.
Thank you for your unbelievably nice comment. I have put a lot of work into this and all my videos over the past 4 years, trying to improve and make better content whilst also supporting myself financially. It’s been a tough journey so far but I love that I am lucky enough to call this my everyday job!
@@WrestlePod Wow that was very quick, yet another indicator of your commitment and passion for what you do! Thank you for this reply. This is going to be too long probably but anyways: I am glad you get to call this your job, that is truly a dream! I was a die hard wrestling fan with my father who introduced it to me when i was about 4 years old right in the peak of the Attitude Era. I kinda grew apart from all of it around the end of the Ruthless Aggression Era, in part because of the direction they were going in but mainly because of me feeling like I was "too old" for it (which I feel like a lot of people who love wrestling as a kid does at one point or the other after they learn its "fake". Eventually I realized it is foolish to decide you dislike wrestling because of that and I realized you CAN like UFC (or any "real" combat sports) AND wrestling at the same time and I started watching again around 2012-13ish. I went to college and forgot about it again for a bit and then the other day I saw a random YT short of an Attitude Era moment and I decided to see where AEW, WWE, etc. was at now. It seems to my rusty wrestling critic eyes that the wrestling world has gotten some great things to happen in thepast few years (like Roman actually finally living to his potential everyone knew he could). I found your channel and I have to admit, multiple of them have gotten me back into the thick of things and me and my childhood friend has decided to start having a PPV hang out every chance we can get together (both being married and me being a new father makes that hard sometimes lol). Anyways, I had some free time at work and wanted to tell you this as something you can read and know your passion for this makes a difference. Weird that something most people may find silly and a waste of time (talking about YT and wrestling YT in general) can actually make an impact on peoples' lives. Its not only entertainment, wrestling and the athletes, etc. are just like any other sport in the things they bring to peoples' lives. Probably a silly comment and too long but yeah. THANK YOU!
This is really good stuff man I hope he makes much much more.😊
You know what bro somehow this is one of the best/interesting and detailed comments I’ve ever seen but I also want to tell you I’ve never seen so much glazing in a single comment in my entire history of CZcams and comment surfing in general 😂😂 Great comment overall though brother the ones that create our daily content and entertainment need to hear this kind of praise 🙌🏽 im sure it’s definitely motivating
I've watched 1 minute of this so far and I'M HOOKED. There are few things more important to a wrestler in getting themselves over as a classic devastating finishing move. Some were legendary and protected and thats what made them special unlike today where the guys are kicking out of each others finishes on weekly basis.
Truly. And there's such an easy way to fix this. Start using more serious signature moves for faux finishes. Establish them as devastating moves that can finish a match against job guys, and then PROTECT the actual finishers of these performers.
this is such a calming yet educational topic for me to enjoy, great job.
I’m so glad you can enjoy my work! Thanks for your kind comment
First thing I thought of was he better include the Claw.
Well, did he?
Hogan's leg drop was literally the worst finishing maneuver in the history of the sport. He did it because it took no athletic ability and didn't take any real talent. Summed up his entire career.
He Fd his back up really bad from it too
Mark
The worst finishing move of all time is probably the Irish whip or the Lou thesz press
People's elbow is down there, it doesn't even make sense as he stops so loses the momentum

Great video and being what looks like the first comment in 2022 I've gotta say Rest easy Scott Hall. You'll always be a legend in the wrestling world not to mention your generosity outside of the ring. Theres not a lot of people that can honestly say they beat their demons but you did it my friend. So with a Hey Yo I just want to say again RIP Scott.
This is incredibly well put together and a fun watch! Hope this rockets up in views.
Thanks mate I really appreciate that and think I've improved a lot since this video
Undertaker’s Tombstone Piledriver & Victoria’s Widows Peak are the two that stick out from my childhood that I remember thinking holy hell 😳
Both look scary to take
I love that you mentioned Godzilla's version in the dropkick section 😀 EPIC move..
Love this...watched it all the way through twice already
That is amazing! I'm so glad you found it enjoyable and thanks for the kind comment mate

The triangle choke was used by Mel Gibson way back in 1987 in Lethal Weapon on Gary Busey's character, Mr. Joshua.
Nice info
That's because Rorion Gracie was one of the fight choreographers
Nice thanks mate
The Figure Four Leg Lock, when applied with intent, feels like a sustained kick to the shin. In case anyone was wondering.
How do you not have 100k to 1 million subs?! CRIMINALLY UNERRATED CHANNEL!!
Haha thank you Kyle, that’s kind - just wanna keep making better content and improving and hopefully the subs will come
Probably because he's rude when you have an opinion on his videos lol
I was watching a bunch of old classic wrestling matches of Andre the giant's and I came across several matches where he use that as his finish her.
Good content man
Underrated
Thank you mate
Good shit man huge omnibus of information to buff my mind with
If I were to have a pro wrestling finisher it would probably be a guillotine choke for these 4 reasons.
1: It's a move that can be used on anyone regardless of size because there's no lifting involved.
2: It can be done safely to the opponent despite looking dangerous. (Just hook it so the pressure is across the back and shoulder and not the throat and neck.)
3: It's safe for me, since it's low impact so I'll be able to use it night after night.
4: It's a real choke hold so it has an inherit air of credibility.
You say it can be used on anyone? You’ve clearly never seen how fat my neck is! Unless you are an NBA player with enormous long arms, I am safe from your chokes! Haha
@@WrestlePod I got arms like slenderman XD
Oh sheeeet! Better watch out
@@WrestlePod But in all seriousness I think it’d look cool done on a larger opponent and would lend it’s self well to visual story telling. Like picture this, the larger wrestler lifts the smaller one in order to do a choke slam. Suddenly and without warning the smaller guy wraps his legs around the opponent’s waist and hooks in the guillotine. Now it’s a fight for dominance. With the big guy trying to shake the smaller one off and the smaller one trying to choke the life out of his adversary.
I love it when someone loves pro wrestling as much as you do! It makes me want to keep pushing on and making content. I’m about to head out but I would love to talk on these points further soon if that’s okay
The razors edge and the one winged angel are two of the best finishers ever, rikishis rikishi driver was awesome as well and also farooqs dominator was also a awesome finisher
Great history lesson on our Great sport, Pro wrestling!
I’m glad you liked it
Holy shit good work massive job
Thanks
GREAT VIDEO
Thanks
can't believe you'd talk about the spear without mentioning Edge
He gets his own video!
Very Kool idea for a video well done good sir
Great video. Am just wondering why some moves are missing. Where is Worm? No mention of Hulk Up? How about Ankle Lock? Actually was Angle slam variant of some of those suplex moves we saw here or variant of another slam not seen on this video. Some other slams seem to be missing too. Also audio quality is all over the place. At times it is lower or higher from previous section. Also some parts of video are unenjoyable with good headphones because of some extra sounds or effects (probably coming from low quality mic) so i watched most of this from tablet and mobile phone. But you put a lot of effort and i did enjoy it. Hope to see improvements for future videos.
Oh wow! This seems really interesting to watch.
Booker was world champion five times, five times, five times, five times, five times in WCW, and most of them weren't brief. He was carrying the company extremely well at the time they went under. He was a big reason why people still wanted to buy the company before Time Warner pulled the time slot they were airing on.
He won more world titles throughout the rest of his career. Absolute travesty that WWE didn't give him at least one run with their world title (only winning the World Heavyweight Title once, which had been the WCW title before WWE changed it).
I used to love booker T in WCW I couldn't get with king booker unfortunatly but yeah that was my dude.
@@tupacalypse88Booker was so sick. He just had awesome moves, Olympian athleticism, and always looked badass no matter what ring gear or hairstyle he had.
The Curtain Call (Dustin Rhodes) and the Impaler DDT (Christian). Don't know what it is about those two but they're my faves.
I'm half an hour in and just want to add a few things. The walls of Jericho was invented by Dean Malenko and when you mentioned the stf almost every example thereafter was an Indian deathlock
Thanks for the correction
@@WrestlePod I'd also say that Jericho is more famous for adapting the Boston Crab into the Liontamer with the knee.
Greatest 2 finishers of all time come from the land of the rising sun. At #2 Misawa's Emerald Flowsion and the #1 Finishing move of all time is Kenta Kobashi's BURNING HAMMER.
I'm partial to the Steiner Screwdriver myself.
This is a great video though I hope one day you reupload it with more audio so that way audio listeners are more aware.
Great job
Thank you
Ask Richard Belzer if wrestling holds are effective.
Best finishing move of all time is Da Crusher's 100 Megaton Bolo Punch HANDS DOWN.

How you gonna disrespect RVD saying Shane made the VAN TERMINATOR famous
100000 times this! LOL
Figure 4, sharpshooter, powerbomb, flying headbutt
Who is the first wrestler to jump from the top rope? I know Harley Race was using diving headbutts in the 60's, but I feel like it has to go back further than that. Antonino Rocca comes to mind as someone that I feel like I remember seeing clips of doing sort of an acrobatic variation of Undertaker's Old School, walking the top rope more similarly to a tight rope while, and he's mentioned on a BleacherReport article as a pioneer, for whatever that research is worth.
Need to do some investigating!
@@WrestlePod I'll be waiting.
What was Jerome Young's finisher? Cocaine? RIP to a man who you never knew if he was acting as New Jack or if he was New Jack
just a side note on the "muscle buster" yes samoa joe popularize the move but its not the same move, he just falls back slaming the back. there are a few wrestler who use the same move similar to the anime.. look at Sonjay Dutts Indian Summer and Bestia 666's La Valagueza
dang that tarantula in the looks awesome
The racism, homophobia and non-political-correctness is precisely what made the Attitude Era a golden era. It takes the professionalism of professional wrestling to another level to be able to put on such salacious material and still have the actors stick it out and perform the storyline. It's much, much more original. It's much, much more realistic, dramatically. It puts the elephant in the room and then puts it in the spotlight. Yes, it's a bit of a cartoonish porno version of reality, but porno is big business because of its primordial appeal. Although, the primordial interest in violence and rebelliousness is a slightly different zone, it's a similarly smutty yet delicious form of entertainment.
I mean, you just know there is a locker-room culture within wrestling that is RIFE with homoeroticism and awkward dominance-posturing. It's delightful to bring this insight into the storyline.
There is no good modern wrestling.
The rebirth of the NWA was the last chance.
Billy Corgan spoke of the history and tradition of the NWA.
Then he decided to follow McMahon’s circus example.
Did I hear Zangiefs stage 🎶?....noice!
Yes you did
Death Valley Driver,Atom Bomb,n the DDT are my favorite solo moves....Doomsday Device for the tag finish
NICE
Nice
Jushin Liger is just such an incredible legend of the squared circle.
Kurt Angle was merely an Olympic WRESTLER?! I think you mean Olympic GOLD MEDALIST WITH A BROKEN FREAKIN' NECK!
Rest In Peace Scott Hall, the greatest performer to never have a run with the big belt.
Funny thing is a lot of similarly dangerous moves are still allowed despite the simple piledriver being banned. Hell if people would just stop adding jumps and stuff to make it more dangerous it probably wouldn't even be banned. Iirc Lawler just does a simple sitting version that's hardly more risky than a ddt, meanwhile there's literally people doing sunset-flip pildrivers and nobody says a damn thing.
The head lock wow going way back to the stone age there
Haha 😂 had to start somewhere
@@WrestlePod I'm enjoying your videos well presented by the way thank you this is making my dinner breaks at work more entertaining
What are you eating for dinner today?
As basic as the Batista bomb is, it he always made it look so powerful in his prime and cool that it was one of my favorites hah
i give huge props to taker for taking a fairly obscure and odd looking but very real sub, the gogo, and using it. But... I've never thought the move fit him, like, at all. And he doesn't do it very well, he knows _basically_ how its suppose to look, and just tries to get there, and with a sub like that, if its not done in a legitimate way, it actually looks like one of the more fake submissions, which is ironic due to its proven legitimacy and real world application
Thanks for the info
Yeah takers gogoplata is strange and even when I was younger it never yelled looks good. Don’t think I’ve ever seen him control both arms correctly and he doesn’t really put the second foot on top and use it for leverage he just grabs the head and tugs. When I was watching this video I realized half of the clips were actually him doing something in between a gogo and a triangle
Just my opinion but the best and my favorite wrestler of all time is, STING.
Itssss STINGGGG!!!
that brutal version muscle buster looks legit dangerous as hell how they make they don't fuck up their neck?
If you’re talking about the one with the Japanese woman I think what’s happening there is she kind of drops them and throws them back so the person taking the move lands slightly curved with there stomach/chest oh her shoulder. Definitely doesn’t feel good to take but honestly I’m more concerned for the girl who doing it, seems like it would really destroy her neck and spine having a persons weight land on your shoulders
Macho Man's elbow is best finisher ever imo 👍
So classy
Yea he does it the best but it hasn't held up well in modern wrestling..seeing what we see today which is a shame cause there's nothing like a good ole elbow drop from the tope rope oh yeaaaaa
william regal did the most painfull looking stf the way he would grind his elbow and side of his arm into face and bridge of nose
Yeah it always looked so painful
@@WrestlePod well since i got u fine work my man fine work love all the history parts one thing great about loving history every subject has a history to it even rasslin
15:16 is this guy trying to hurt the other guy by not unhooking the legs?
Maybe
you Bs, Ps, Cs, and Ks, popped so loud i thought i blew my subwoofer out!
This is an old video I rereleased because of copyright, my latest videos audio quality is much better with a new mic
Correction at 1:48:35, Mike Awesome not Mike Knox
Absolutely
As someone who started looking into pro wrestling I had to get over some things I saw after watching nothing but MMA matches (Mainly the idea of kick outs not really being fought out of) but when it comes to finishers I kind of get it there are pike a “fatality” and there's levels of protectedness where certain finishers are match enders (mainly how signature they are to a performer) so the most classical finishers like holds and leg locks don't quite work cause professional wrestling doesn't go on a KO kind of system (plus as people have pointed out the rules only matter so much)
i have a story in my head for a long time. About a young indy wrestler who inexplicably landet in 1965 who he entered the wrestling business of that era. Where he shocks the entire wrestling world with moves nobody ever seen before.
So canonically Abe Lincoln's finisher is the Choke Slam from Hodgenville?
The Three Amigos wasn’t the German Suplex. It was Eddie’s variant. Three Germans is a Hat Trick.
The figure 4 I think is the best finishing move and if you don't know what I'm talking about let somebody put you in this finishing move and believe me you will be tapping out and Macho Man got his elbow I think from Dusty Rhodes I think that's the first time I saw the elbow being used with Dusty
I’m in a headlock at 9:34

Where is the "P" in "echelon"???
I cant believe when you were talking about the men that used the pile driver you didnt mention nothing about the man that really made it famous and that man being Jake The Snake Robert's. Hes the one most credited with inventing the modern pile driver and he mastered the move to the point of being an artist with the move. Over all I'd give the video a 7 outta 10. Some of the video when talking about certain moves just cut to the next segment right in the middle of explaining the move that you were talking about. But like I said over all a decent video with a lot of history on the history of the most famous finishing moves. Very educational and I'm sure a lot of time went into the video. We can all appreciate that.
Respectfully, I haven't seen the segment on the Piledriver in this video bit I believe you're thinking of the DDT. The Piledriver dates back to at least the 1960s, before Jake was even wrestling.
