Ugh this might sound weird but this works for me. Apply toilet cleaning gell on chrome parts sit for 4-5 mins, use something like a toothbrush to brush it up till it's clean , then wash. No scratches! Also don't let too much of this stuff on automobile paint as this may( not sure ) wipe off clear coat.

The tin foil is good if you have worse rust and pitting. I used it on the my sierras side steps. Truck is a 2015 and I live in Canada so they were quite a bit worse on the bottom then the piece he is showing.
His method was perfect for what he was working on. I didn't want to waste my good sandpaper lol.
Also, there is I believe a chemical reaction that occurs when scrubbing rusty chrome with aluminum foil that helps to dissolve the rust particles and this helps when you have a bit worse pitting.

You need to try ironX. It’s the most affective rust removal. minimal scratch

Any metal polish is probably fine. You can pick it up at any auto parts store. Just ask them what they have for polishing metals like chrome and aluminum.

I use the same thing I do windshields with. 4/0 steel wool dry rub. Then put Nu Finish car polish on it.

I don't know why people continue to make these videos, if you want to remove light scratches and swirls out of chrome, USE JEWELERS ROUGE, it's the safest and best way. Your chrome will look flawless. There are many different grits to jewerlers rouge. Make sure you use the right one. By the six pack, it comes with all the grits

I don't know why people think this video mentions anything about making your old ass chrome perfect. I literally state what I'm doing and why.... Make a better video and share it if it concerns you that much bud.
