Literally one of the best records after All-Star Break, top 10 in both defensive, offensive, and net rating after the ASG, but still went down to 3rd in MVP voting. While SGA literally played subpar in his last 15 games or so (27P-5R-3A in like a span of 10 games this month while Luka went 33P-10R-9A and with a better record), and basically went up to 2nd in MVP ladder. It's hilarious man. Before the season started they were skeptical that Luka/Kyrie would work. That Kyrie would have off the court problems again and that Luka was a terrible defender and would hog possessions away from Kyrie. Now they have 50 wins. They clinched the playoffs and are one of the hottest teams since the All star break. Kyrie has been productive with ZERO off court problems, Luka is top 10 in steals, is having his best season stats-wise, and is moving the ball around and letting kyrie handle the offense more. And what is ESPN and all these other media outlets saying in response? People still have Luka 3rd or 4th in MVP voting. And some of them are actually saying that the Mavs being good was "always expected". One article even said it was obvious that this team would be good and mesh well together cause "Luka is playing next to a future HoF". Completely ignoring the fact that Kyrie missed 23 games this season and the Mavs still got 50 wins. the back and forth moving of their goal post is straight comedy for me.
The best way for dallas to shut them up is by winning championship. It's the first time I see that a player basically won back to back Player of the Month awards and people still find ways to downplay him. I swear every year I see Luka bust some crazy stuff and every year the disrespect gets crazier.
It's hilarious man. Before the season started they were skeptical that Luka/Kyrie would work. That Kyrie would have off the court problems again and that Luka was a terrible defender and would hog possessions away from Kyrie.
Now they have 50 wins. They clinched the playoffs and are one of the hottest teams since the All star break. Kyrie has been productive with ZERO off court problems, Luka is top 10 in steals, is having his best season stats-wise, and is moving the ball around and letting kyrie handle the offense more.
And what is ESPN and all these other media outlets saying in response? People still have Luka 3rd or 4th in MVP voting. And some of them are actually saying that the Mavs being good was "always expected". One article even said it was obvious that this team would be good and mesh well together cause "Luka is playing next to a future HoF". Completely ignoring the fact that Kyrie missed 23 games this season and the Mavs still got 50 wins.
