Big Freedia is what you're hearing when you say "What the hell is this?" They're a rapper from New Orleans, and one of the first out LGBTQ rappers at least that I can think of. Her music's a lot of fun.
Nola bounce baby
Forgot THEE queen of bounce music
Big Freedia is a New Orleans iconic Queen of Bounce. Big Freedia puts on an amazing performance of music, rap and twerking.
Big Freeda is the same person who was on Formation.
@@phyllisrussell299 😳😲😱🧐🥸I messed that I didn't see him were damn I need glasses 😫 😆😅🤣😂😭🧐🤧shit I want my 20/20 vision back....
She mixed bounce, house, and gospel and we STAN.
Beyonce releasing this single in the middle of Pride is truly iconic. This will be played in every gay clubs and we will eat it up. 😍
Now that is the TRUTH!!!
is this a lgbtq song?
@@zamraykiefer9245 yes
You bet it will!!!!
Just wondering how Many people quitted their job to This song!?
She gave us the best 90s house bop ever. Queen Beyoncé slays as always. Thanks to big Freeda and Robin S.
I feel like everything about Beyonce has gotten thicker after her childbirth. Thicker voice, thicker body.
That aside, I've seen some people say they don't like this new music she put out cause it's a lot different from what she usually does, but I'm open to change and I've had this song on repeat since it came out.
I am not a fan of those people. She is a musician. An artist. She absolutely can change music genres. I love that she won’t let anyone put her in a music box.
@@dawnelehman2592 exactly 🎯
I think it’s quite funny to listen to these people. When did Beyoncé something that sounded like the album before? At the beginning of her career okay yes there is a coherent string but since 4 it’s a different style each time. Even her singing style changed often. And everyone has to keep in mind she has done it all. House/dance is kind of the last genre she didn’t done before 😂😂
@@Jan-kf5ej exactly
Beyonce has been releasing music the opposite of what she normally does every album post-I Am Sasha Fierce. People are just so slow to catch on. If Bey is coming with a new album, expect a shake up.
I love it. It’s 90s house and bounce. Beyoncé put out a perfect Pride club song.
Please tristan😭 this genre is known as house and was popularized by a lot of black artists (in the 80s if I'm not wrong, DON'T QUOTE ME) and basically it's built on a lot of good vibes, dancey *almost* disco sounds in some cases and is an entire genre of itself, but I think it's hilarious how much of a shock to your ears this was😭😭💀
This is nola bounce big freeda mixed with whatever they r doing
90's House music with folk instruments will always be my happy place
i mean it's weird. i've never heard this sound from not just beyonce, but really any recent industry pop artist (i like it.. but it's not like this sound is to be expected)
House is an offshoot of disco. When synthesizers became more portable people of lower incomes made songs emulating disco tracks. Many people at the time wanted to make disco songs but they could not afford the instruments, producing equipment and studios that would typically go in a disco song like violins and various horns. DJ Frankie Knuckles is considered the pioneer of house.
lmao i fell out he was shook 😂
I've never really gotten very into Beyonce. But I think this song is going to get stuck in my head. I like it.
amen
You'd also like her Deja vu, especially the live performance
Try her self-titled album and Lemonade. Both are SO good!!!
4 is maybe my favourite album by her. She sang her ass off, fun songs, timeless feel about it.
This is definitely a different musical style and vocals for her. Haven't listened to her in a while. Excited for what she puts on her new album
I LOVE IT! Its bounce music created in New Orleans but also became very popular with black/brown LGBTQ in NYC in the 80's/90's. If you've ever seen the TV show "POSE", it was essential to the ballroom scene depicted in that show. Its fun dance music with a message!
*house music bounce music came from Louisiana specifically New Orleans
The backing track and sample however is Bounce from the rapper Big Freedia
@@issashanti4me You are right. I have corrected my original statement.
Beyoncé is probably in the Top 3 vocalists of the modern era
Not anymore
@@pattiimcmath5885 based on your replies on this video, you seem to be a hater. she IS one of the top three vocalists of the modern era. deal with it :)
@@mozzarillla Why don't you show a little bit of maturity as she has stated her opinion on Beyonce and just bc it doesn't align with yours doesn't mean she's a "hater".
@@shawnjones4527 vocals aren’t a matter of opinion. according to vocal experts, beyoncé’s vocal expertise is similar to the likes of mariah carey, aretha franklin, and tina turner. Now how about you show a bit of maturity and give beyonce her respect where it’s due 🤷🏽♂️
She’s a vocal beast so definitely yeah and this post prime Beyoncé yet her voice keeps on sounding better
Her voice is amazing!! She can do so many ranges while breathing. I’ve been listening to her since she was a kid on Star Search, Destiny’s Child and her solo career. I have so many favorite songs by her.
lmao you're so cute tristan, for real!
that intro was a sample from a 90s house music song called "show me love". i love that beyonce used it and is bringing back this fun sound -- sends me down memory lane for sure!
Beyoncé WRITES her stuff. She has a number of ASCAP recognitions
Beyoncé like every other massive artist has a group of writers that she works with. Law states that even if she's in the room she gets credited for the writing even if she didn't write it or added just one word or one lick. So a person isn't a true writer of a song unless she's the only person that's listed as the writer. Beyoncé like many other artists is a casual contributor to her songs. Let's be real
@@pattiimcmath5885 at least do some research before making ridiculous assumptions. Do many artists do what you're saying, yes. But beyonce is known to be extremely involved in all her art from the music writing and production to performing. Producers and writers have all said she's super detailed and a perfectionist. So no she doesn't just stand in a room and get credit. For her performances, she's extremely detailed about choreography, outfits, singing, camera work and even the lighting. She's an actual artist.
She’s been writing since DC. Love this comment. You get it. 🥤
STILL waiting for plastic off the sofa + virgo's groove reaction from you. It's honestly criminal you haven't done that yet. PLEASE.
I loooove the song so much! It’s like a post pandemic anthem. Was just eating in a restaurant, the song came up and I almost wanted to get up and dance!
The vocal sample adds so much, it gives just the right energy imo
That NOTE is eargasmic! And the choir at the end!! Amen! This song is incredible! I really can't get enough of it, it's pure House gold and it's perfect for her voice! Big Freedia is legendary too btw, check her out ;)
The sample in the back is Big Freeda (spell?). He is a Bounce artist from New Orleans. It's a popular genre from Louisiana and she combined it with house. I love how she's always combining her roots with her sound.
Y
Edit: Yes, I know the beat is a sample, but ot's been reported Big Freeda's part is a sample & that's the part i'm talking about.❤
*Freedia
Also Beyoncé’s from Houston not NO but all the same
@@issashanti4me She is Creole. Her roots are Louisiana and that music. hence her bday role out style and the Formation video.
Its Robin S Show Me Love is the sample
Big Freedia's pronounce is she.
Not expecting this from the one and only BEYONCÉ, but it’s sooooo goood. While we wait for her album, u should watch her Oscar’s performance, it is cheeeffsss kiss 😌
Watching you vibe to this is a MOOD, thanks for making my day friend ♥️♥️♥️♥️
This song gives me alll the early 90’s vibes, and I’m here for it!
if you want to do another song from Beyonce PLEASE do the OSCAR PERFORMACE "Be alive" It was soooooooooo good
I love how relatable and uplifting this song is. It's quirky but really unique-something different coming from Beyonce. She's trying to transform/evolve her music and I think that's a great thing! This has the 90s house vogue vibe.
I think her voice got deeper after her pregnancies.
Them vocal folds definitely got thicker ✨
She is maturing that’s all
This will be on repeat at Pride im calling it.
Should listen to the vocals on "Be Alive' live performance if you haven't already. That one came out not too long ago and you can hear the fullness in her voice.
really do appreciate the epilepsy warning and making away with the flashing lights, as someone with photosensitivity. thanks, Tristan :)
Please react to the runs on Virgo‘s Groove (Beyonce). It’s insane!
This has British house music written all over it ugh I love it ❤
Variations are flawless
Love this song so much!! Thanks for the reaction.
Loved your expressions in this video - they ALMOST did as hard of a job as your (amazing) ear!
I absolutely love it!!
I love it..it gives me life. Beyonce is stepping back in to the light. Listen to her words. Dark does not mix with light. That's why her hive didn't like it. All her other music was more worldly. This is a spiritual song and only spiritual people will get. Welcome back B. You know who your real friends are now!
Exactly! That's the point. Try something different and yet still speak and connect to us, the people.
Nice video and glad hear and understand the layers and range that she delivers in this.
i have epilepsy so thank you for the removal of vid when it started flashing ♡
aw thanks! I spent a lot of time debating the best way to upload this
Obsessed with this song
honestly its the best song made I love Beyonce and all her songs
the dream also wrote too. also this song itself samples our girls robin s - show me love!
I’m obsessed with this song
Beyoncè was watching alot of POSE over the Pandemic..... and it shows.... House making a comeback to it's original roots!
I love it! Can't listen to it in the car unless you want to get out and dance at stop lights LOL
There's a house song that my dad listens to that was popular in south Africa during his early days and the beat is almost identical
This song was so overwhelming for my senses and i can‘t explain why
Thank background music!
Im a simple man i see beyonce and i click
I loved it and the react
MAN, I MEAN YOU NEED TO LISTEN THE FULL BEYONCÉ'S ALBUM RIGHT NOWWWWW PLEASEEEEEEE 😆😆😆😆😆😆
🤔…Tristan as a Teletubby.
Even the causal Beyoncé listener (and until I watched this video I didn’t know that was a thing) MUST must must listen to her self-titled album and watch some of the videos. Especially IMO Mine. Wow. What a song. What a video. True art. (just a message from a 55 yo who only fell in love with Beyoncé when she produced her self-titled album. Then Lemonade and Black is King solidified it for me. 🐝). Tristan, it is never too late to join the B-hive!
I think this is the coming out of Covid theme song - back at the dance floor and I love it!
charlie and jks new song is out now!! i hope that you’ll react to it :))
i love love love this song
Nobody:
Tristan: Beyoncé sounding thick as hell
THE QUEEN IS BACK ♥️😫🙌🏼
Love the 90s house music. Sounds very like "Show Me Love". If not an actual sample, it's for sure the same synth sound on that riff.
I'm in the same boat as U tristan. I have never personally been a fan of her music.
BUT. this is a fuxking BOP! 🎶 and I LOL'd so hard when u said said "this chicks been partying" hahaha
Hell YASSSS FOR SOME HOUSE MUSIC from Queeen B!@@
fact the song sample 1993 classic Robin S Show me love.. iconic!
I vibe with this song. It's so my era and good vibes. I'm also done with the 9-5. Im looking for motivation and drive to do better.
I fucking love this song
Makes me wanna dance
It's a hit.
This Genre is House and its pretty popular in South Africa, a lot of our clubs play this style of music
Tristan, will you react to Charlie Puth and Jungkook's new song they did together?
YES!! 😭💜💜PLS😍😍
Yesssss please Tristan
UPPP
coming today!
This song is a BOP. Love it.
Love this song❤️ Bey ♥️ Big Freedia 🔥🔥🔥
how've you never done a beyonce reaction though😭
Can you react to her entire album when it comes out?
can you react to her Oscar be alive performance
can you react to the whole album now?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch more of her live performances tho, they are incredible!!!!! ESPECIALLY LISTEN AT THE OPRAH SHOW, seriously you will love it🤍
Hey Tristan.... You haven't reacted to Dimash Qudaibergen yet? At least I could not find one!
I'm sure you will be shocked when you hear him 😁. He has at least a 6 octaves range and keeps mixing different styles!
This is new Orleans bounce music the guy in the back ground is big freedia ,and he is very popular in new Orleans for bounce music 💕 ...
i would love to see h breakdown wendy moten on the voice she unbelievable
I love itttt
MUSHROOMS😭 he treating this song like it's an arca collab 😭
I agree....it is personal ...it is a comment about what so many in the country...in the world want to say or shout and Beyonce is giving them the megaphone with this song.....I need to talk to you about those runs......"bro..."
Big Freedia will always be the queen of bounce. It’d be interesting to listen to it to broaden your horizons.
I know this ain’t the subject of the video, but ion care how many times I watch this SpongeBob clip 0:17, that fish in back be having me weak🤣🤣
This was perhaps the best example of why having a diverse perspective matters. This review was ignorant AF.
This song is NOT a new style for Beyoncé. Heard "Formation"?
Similar sounds - and to be exact, the "appalling" portion of the song is Big Freeda, a New Orleans Bounce Music artist.
Gotta get your weight up musically before insulting a genre simply because you've never heard of it.
(And Drake sampled Bounce music too in "In my Feelings" ...pretty sure you heard that one.)
React More to Beyoncé ❤️
😆 You and I have the same confused look on our faces listening to this song 🤔 but I must say, I'm intrigued 😆😆
You should listen to the songs from Dreamgirls!
Eu vendo esse vídeo em 2023 e sabendo que ela ainda não lançou os visuais 🤡
Still waiting for that Renaissance reaction!!
curious on a reaction to IM NAYEON's solo debut album !! First TWICE member to go solo!!
we need some reactions to songs on lemonade (her 6th album) !!
This!!!!
It’s definitely left field but it’s a bop
I would LOVE to see you react to the old movie Victor Victoria staring Julie Andrews. It has some amazing music!!
Le Jazz hot.
Hi Mr.Tristan I was wondering if you can reacted to Sara James “Lovely “ cover on agt I would really like to know your thoughts on it
where's the video of you reacting to skin of my teeth by Demi????
Plastic off the sofa must be done next in my humble opinion 👀 if you wanna hear RUNS
I laughed so hard at what you said about this
Her voice is ageing. Just listen to Crazy in Love from 2005.
Please listen to Beyoncé- Plastic off the Sofa… those runs
the disclaimer to say he doesnt comply with the beyhive rules had me DYING hahahahahaha
Been waiting for this notification !!!!
have u truly ever listened to beyonce tho? this girl has been serving vocals for two decades
Big Freedia Live is Lit!!!
Did Tristan ever react to the whole album?
Tristan i find it hard to believe that you haven't listened to Tate McRae album yet. Bruh its sooo good. I recommend listening to boy x or i still say goodnight or all of them ;) But please check it out or imma be on your case for the next couple of days...or weeks.
