I feel like the "Disney" vibe is always there when people do their rebrand or whatever, even just slightly. It makes sense cuz that was their thing for a while and you're essentially forcing yourself out of a habit but I do find it funny

@@mesquitegirl2013 She's apparently only just recently begun lessons and unfortunately has spent years overusing and abusing her voice which leaves damage that may not be able to be fully corrected now. She likely has hyperfunctional dysphonia which is caused by overuse of the laryngeal muscles (and, occasionally, use of the false vocal folds). She'd benefit from seeing a laryngologist and having voice therapy.

The craziest thing about this is that Jojo went around telling everybody that she wrote the song herself even though she bought it and didn’t change a single word or even the key which she most definitely should have. Not to mention the original was written in the 2010s and sounds absolutely amazing but her version is just lazy

She never did. In her first interview about karma she literally talks about how she was pitched the song two years ago. She has been honest from the start. The video you’re referring to is an EDITED clip circulating round tiktok. She was talking about another song that she wrote which was never released and then mentions karma .

I genuinely don't think Jojo even understood the lyrics of the song 😭 she sings it like SHE IS the karma (so proud and upbeat) while the lyrics are from the perspective of the cheater that is receiving her karma. Brit Smith original version conveys her regret. Overall her voice and production is much better.

Don’t be fooled by the high notes, there’s a TikTok of the producer in the studio, she was taping Jojo’s adlibs (with the auto tune activated) and the girl couldn’t hit a single adlib properly, her voice was cracking and out of tune (even Jojo was scared of the final result), BUT in the final result her adlibs sounded clean and powerful, like...WTF?

Feel like it would be better to say "that's not a healthy way to sing", "you aren't vocally polished enough for this", or "Maybe you aren't at a place where you can make singing a part of your career". I'm not sure if you mean she shouldn't sing career wise or just never sing ever, but if it's the latter I'm very opposed to that idea. People should be allowed to sing for fun if they enjoy it. My dad loves singing even though he's not good at being on pitch. Apparently when he was a young guy he was participating in some sort of church choir or something (not an auditioned one, don't even know if it was a choir, just that he was singing with other people) and the guy next to him told him he was the worst singer he had ever heard. It really affected my dad and he avoided singing for years. As someone who did years of auditioned choir and voice lessons, I will say, my dad is not a good singer, but it's not unpleasant to hear him sing or anything, even if he's pretty off pitch. When my dad is singing, I know he's happy and in a good mood. Never in my life have I found his singing unpleasant.

I mean Jesus, to reduce Desmond Child to "someone who wrote some Disney songs" like the chick did in the video is absolutely crazy.
