The HARDEST metal art project yet! (I ALMOST QUIT!)

- This was the HARDEST Metal Art project I've ever done... hands down. Its rare that when I finally arc on to a Tig Welding Art project, that I consider tapping out, but I thought about doing exactly that several times in this project. This episode marks ONE FULL YEAR since my first episode on my channel, and I couldn't have picked a better one to mark the day with. This video captures some amazing moments in the process of the creation of this piece, but unfortunately doesn't truly show the soul I poured into it for over two months. TWO MONTHS. There was nights when I would go to bed bothered by a mistake I'd made, or something that didn't turn out the way I needed it to, and I'd toss and turn until Id get out of bed and head back into the studio to get immersed behind my mask working on it. But after weeks and weeks, it started to turn into its own personality, entity, whatever you want to call it. If you had shown it to me before I started, I would have been shocked. It turned into its own thing COMPLETELY on its own, and it wasn't at all what I was planning. That's what happens with art. And it's the best thing ever. With Tig Welding, you are supposed to follow procedure. Drawings. Measured and tested perameters and use specific settings and technique. But in these art projects, I get to break every rule in the book, and I unapologetically do so. And this is turning out to be the best thing Ive ever worked at. This is the type of art I like to see, extreme dedication and skill, not the type of art in a museum where someone painted a piece of wood blue in 2 seconds and hung in on the wall, literally saw that before and it was in a museum. This piece could be in a museum

You sir are in a different universe, don’t sweat the imperfections, this is art after all. And those imperfections are your little trademarks that make each piece you do, unique from any other. I am a retired welder with 40 years of welding. What I love most about welding is that the welder is an artist, creating, designing, fabricating, and showing the beauty of welding. I applaud you as you are a master welding ART. I worked for a company years ago as a pipe welder, S.S. and C.S. One of my buddies was the best with SS welding. Love your work mate, very inspiring got me wanting to do a predictor piece.
Maybe with titanium for some green looking colour also. Stainless is way cheaper though.
A little tip on Stainless if you haven’t tried this before, wipe the piece with transmission fluid and hit it with a blow torch (do this outside it gets real smokey) start at the bottom and slowly work up, the rainbow pops and is a good base to add your art on. Once cooled a gentle wipe a couple of times with acetone will remove the fluid making it contamination free without touching the rainbow colours. It also scribes a clean line if scratched that would be good for fine detail.
