Thanks, love the channel! You’ve given me a lot confidence when it comes to painting.
I wanted to say thanks, I have been watching your videos for years. thanks again.
Hahahaha! 😂😄🙌 Love the out takes. The Orange is your marketing for your tools. I'm sure it serves a dual purpose of helping locate misplaced tools as well.
The out-takes at the end cracked me up. Thanks for the videos.
Hey Chris thanks for the reply
Much appreciated
Keep up the good work
Thanks for making this super informative video!
Love the videos, Chris! I really appreciate them. Can Mad Dog be used on interior trim that will be top coated with a semi-gloss or gloss? If not, do you know of any products that would work? What about Sherwin Williams PrimeRX? Thanks for your time!
Orange paint to identify YOUR tools. Great videos! Great instruction! Certainly have provided me with the confidence that what I am doing is how the pro does it.
Thanks for the videos. I would guess that the orange paint is to identify what tools are yours when you are with other worker. I grew
up with a family of carpenters and we all had our own color so when we picked up tools at the end of the day it was easy to keep them straight. Dad was yellow, uncle was blue and when I got old enough that I had to pay for my own tools I painted them Red. I caught my uncle painting blue over my Red tool once. Thanks for the painting tips. I will try the Mad Dog primer.
Great video and love the bloopers
Loved the out takes :)
You know they are yours , also helps seeing them at a distance on job site.Worked with a guy that use to paint his tools pink lol. Love watching your vids. I am HVAC tech. but have to repair walls and paint sometimes.
lol. I was laughing like crazy . keep the humour coming big man cause it's great seeing the bloopers.
great job Chris we paint our tools as a marker. even if I'm wrong my friend, I love the paint life!
So close, thanks for watching!
haha. Peter piper picked pickled peppers. turned into a tongue twister. good video as always. and gotta love those bloopers. keep em' coming.
Daniel Lopez
Peter Piper!
Hahahaha
I thought the exact same thing at the end...
Hell yeah, great informative video.
Great Vid bro!!
Awesome vid, thanks for the tips.
My guess is that the orange is to identify tools that belong to your company so that employees, other trades, etc don't have any question about who's is who's.
I learned by you're rep jaja piling paint surfaces..
Nice I needed that tip...
Man so much great information here thank you
Thanks for watching!
Awesome 👍👍👍
Just what I needed to know and how to do it.
Quick and to the point.
😁 Also love the bluppers 😁👍
Glad I could help!
Good to see the outtakes
To mark your tools. Great video sir.
Great video loved the bloopers.
Thanks for watching!
Just as you traveled to paint Wrangler Star's barn, you have been on the road across I-40 East to Tennessee where you have had several jobs painting UT bill boards.
Nice video man. What is your view on painting the inner frame to match the outter frame or do you prefer the inner frame match the inside?
Was really hoping this would have covered interior...
Great vid as always though!
My parents have some major peeling on their bathroom ceiling...
Im assuming in the 28 yrs since building the house, a bathroom fan was never installed, which is probably the reason it has peeled so bad!
I really want to help them fix it, but never seen the process done, and CZcams doesnt really have any good vids covering this...
Any chance you come across this situation?
If so, would you consider doing a video on how to properly prep and paint a ceiling that has such bad peeling?
Thanks Chris
Thanks for your tip on satin, semi-gloss and flat paint at 3:40
Helps Categorize job specific tools for certain types of painting jobs? Or helps identifying the tool / brush when working in a area with multiple people or projects going on at once.
Love the video Chris, orange paint on tools and equipment is most likely to identify item's belonging to your company and the item's used on exterior latex projects. Cheers and Peace to Paint Life.
Hey. Which paint would you recommend for a garage door. Cost effective and long lasting for vinyl and metal garage door.
When priming, do you only prime the area's that you scraped to help even out the base?
Excellent content and the blooper reel is so funny!! HA!
Lol, love the bloopers. And great video too!
Thanks for watching Ben!
@@Idahopainter btw, I just bought and used a paint eater with your recommendation for a job, and Sherwinn Williams PrimerRX Peel Bonder. I'm going top coat it tomorrow, but I think it'll look great!
My guess is so you know it's yours if it gets stolen! Thank you for another great video buddy have a blessed day.
It’s been a few years u have posted this video.. are you still using the Wagner paint eater ? How are you liking it heard some people say it has to much power and the disk don’t last to long
What is the type of siding on this house? Doesn’t look like wood.
I always learn something watching your informative and very helpful videos. Thanks so much.
Gorgeous
Color coded everyone is responsible for there own brushes and tools to clean thanks mate great work save me lots of time in my projects
Yes! Great idea🤙
My door is black and I want to
Change it to a light brown. Should I sand it first then prime it and finally paint it? Or will a light latex paint cover any dark color?
Orange paint, is to know what vehicle it belongs in. When you have multiple vehicles on site. You want to put every tool back into it's designated vehicle or tool box.
Nice tip thank you!
Love the bloopers at the end
The Orange paint tells which vehicle the tool belongs too so if you have more than one crew on site the vans stay properly organized. Tyler from Meridian here thanks so much for all your videos each one helps make me more of a professional.

Can I use this on interior walls where I removed wallpaper and the paint underneath peeled off?
I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’m thinking the orange paint on sander AND your brush is for your Mad Dog primer only?
Do you have any ideas for removing old paint from exterior of a 5 feet off ground wood Queenslander? Tools, liquids, etc. I am over whelmed but can't afford the $15,000 AUD quote, so I have to do it. I figure it could take a month. Have interior to do as well.
Question: if the house is brick would you still caulk before you painted the primer?
All of your orange colored tools are stored together in kit for specific jobs?
How well would that wagner work on badly peeling paint over rough stucco?
I used a paint eater and followed up with a palm sanders and primed with this triple thick primer because i wanted it to build up past any roughness left behind . This triple thick primer poured out of the gallon real thick but when i started priming , it went on extremely thin ..lol I hope the peel stop part works , because the build up part didn't work well at all . It felt like i was priming with wallpaper paste .
You said you do all your exteriors in satin? Just curious to why. Usually I us whatever the sw rep tells me to use. Jw. Thanks in advance
Nice. always wanted to see how that tool.work . !!!
Question. Live in central Washington - hot, windy in summer and cold in winter. Door jams take a beating, I’ve seen you use two different primers - Peel Stop and Dural Build Primer - which would you recommend - house is 11 years old and was just painted 2 years ago. Thanks
Peel Stop is amazing
in your video "how to organize a box van" you mention white handles for exterior and black for interior.
red was for oil brushes & i comfused that with orange.
why is the tool orange??!!
Wouldn't it move down the wood by putting it on thick? Like a drip/droop/sagging look?
Do you prefer mad dog over peel bond or prime rx?
so is the orange paint to identify which truck or van it belongs to?
what paint should i used for exterior wood window
Thank you so much....
I really like my Wagner paint eater but I rarely use it cuz it's TOO powerful! I usually only use it on big, very bad surfaces.
What about sanding latex paint that is peeling on my deck? It always rolls up as I’m sanding. I want to repaint it but I need to scrape all the spots that are peeling and want to smooth out the spots that are peeling…
The orange paint is either for marking your tools so you know they're yours, or you got them on as a open box special from Home Depot and they tagged it orange to prevent returns.
2 thoughts with the orange paint. 1) To identify the tool as yours 2) to clearly mark the edge of the tool to remind you not to put your fingers anywhere near the spinning disc.
Is the orange because you color code what tools go into what truck?
This mad dog primer looks fantastic, you don't have to fill where you have taken the flakey paint off. I wish this product were available in my country.
Yes, you can order it online though!
In addition to marking the tool as yours, does the orange paint indicate that you purchased the tool at Home Depot?
How about what do you do for peeling paint on walls or ceilings?
Hi, always great videos. May I ask what type of white exterior paint did you use for this project. I am doing an exterior door frame. Thanks!
Duration satin
@@Idahopainter Thanks!!!!
is it for the organization in your truck?
Question I fucked up on my cabinets by painting them first without sanding them now their peeling what do I do
great job! how do you paint the side of door. would it increase the door size and make it difficult to close the door?
It does, but it is usually not a problem
You painted it orange along w/ the cord end so that you know what to unplug?
I would be covered in caulk spots first of all, and I'd had to have a tarp because I am not very clean when it comes to brush painting - Trying to learn to be a little less messy. :)
Thanks for the bloopers 🤣🤣
Any time!
Ok, so I am staining exterior cedar shakes, they already have white stain on them from days gone by.
7-10 years. Is it ok to put that mad dog on as a primer then apply the Sherwin Williams woodscapes stain over it. Thanks.
You don’t need a primer with WoodScapes
How long will that last, and what if it peels the next year?
I did a badly kept garage door with fiberglass and other fillers to smooth it out most the paint still looks good ecpt along the bottom rail of the 16x7 wood door. That bubbled up and cracked the first year. A pro painter did it once the whole pain job he did didnt last a year.
I put 3 coats of paint 2 coats of primer and sanded between coats I even removed all the weather striping and bottom bump guard. Im about to give up and cover it in plastic. Maybe an epoxy paint and treat the wood with a petrified chemical you use to treat rotting wood to repair it. Or fiberglass resian on the whole bottom board. This should have be treated wood or cedar. But I belive its a pine type wood. Even ash or popular would have been a better choice.
So what primer shall I use for a similar repair within the interior of my home. Looking to go with egg-shell paint.
Multi-purpose
Nice content! Keep it up!
pro trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Caleb Thiago Yea, I've been watching on Flixzone} for months myself =)
Is that paint eater safe for drywall
Where was you drop cloth?
Orange paint is to indicate it's either your personal sander..or possibly because its designated for outside exterior work?
The reason to you mark tools and brushes orange could be the tools marked orange are used on oil based paints, or vice versa and used on waterbased paints
Did you advise to apply primer thickly in order to cover a dark colour? I applied 2 coats of primer to cover a wrong colour choice I already started cutting in so had to wait to dry between coats.
Actually it was an undercoat.
You have orange paint on your tools so you can easy spot which tools are yours?
orange paint so if you drop them easy to fingers right
hello, maybe you can help answer a question for me, I have 32 windows in my place (lot of windows not a huge house, just old with to many windows) all of them are cracking and peeling in almost every spot. I am removing the paint, do i need to remove ALL the paint, that what i've been doing every inch down to the wood. is this over kill? of can I just get all the major spots that are peeling and sand it down to blend in? I appreciate any info, i have a feeling i am doing to much work
Just the major spots
I have only seen one other painter use Mad Dog Products.... only the best do!
Most mad dog primer I use calls for caulking after applying primer. is this the case for the dura bond as well? wont the caulikg underneath crack the primer or is that why you are using the Big Stretch?
I know there are several different Mad Dog primers, so not sure if that applies to this primer
Caulking adheres to primer better then bare wood
Thanks Chris! You always have a video on the questions I have. Been watching these for probably 5 or 6 years now and REALLY appreciate what you do for us fellow painting contractors!
Hi, do you think this technique would work on chipped wood kitchen cabinets as well?
No, it would not
I would say the orange paint is to help identify or group a set of tools needed to do a certain task. that way you know you brought everything you might need for a given task without having to lug around more than necessary.
what do you think about the acubrush painter
Don't like it
A different color for different surfaces?
So u know witch tools are yours
Orange paint means certain safety gear that needs to be worn?
Good.
For the orange 🍊 on the paint eater because you wanted to see if your viewer are paying attention. I am !!! Great advise also doing my projects rite now love the videos!!!
Thanks for your support
Paint Life TV you still using this Wagner paint eater ? How are you liking it .. heard the disk don’t last to long and are expensive to replace
Is the orange paint so nobody takes your tools?
Orange paint are on sale tools at Hardware stores.
Gary Reategui Heehee
So can determine witch tools are yours
Witch 🤣
Learned a lot from your vids. My guess why you have orange paint on your tools: helps identify and distinguish your tools from others’ who might be on the site. Amirightenough for a shirt?
