I don't get this idea of winning a moral victory just for being gritty and tough enough to stay standing during a beating. The guy doesn't block his face, and doesn't move out of the way from strikes. There's nothing AMAZING about Kris, being tough doesn't get you contender fights, and he was literally used to boost the star power of a guy who is pretty disliked. Wow, your a stepping stone. What a moral victory

Anderson Silva vs DC. He went the distance, DC was scared to strike with him and Anderson actually hurt him.
This was also an Anderson Silva on the decline who just lost to Michael Bisping. Even at that stage in his career he made one of the greatest fighters ever scared of his skills

The 12 - 6 elbow rule is weird as is the cant knee/kick a downed opponent.
I get it from a safety point of view, but as a fighting point a view it just doesnt make sense.

Izzy vs Anderson's was so weird but satisfying to watch , when they stood in the middle of the ring and taunted each other I got chills , it was like Prime Silva Vs Present Silva.

Melendez got a bit too carried away with the swangin' and bangin' and that's what nearly cost him the fight. Up to that point it was his fight to lose, made for a hell of a show though.
I would add Felicia Spencer going the distance with Chris Cyborg…she was in over her head but made it the distance with one of the scariest women’s fighters.
You could add the Nunes fight. She's the only woman who has fought the two greatest female fighters ever and somehow has managed to not get finished by either, and the Nunes fight was a 5 rounder.
I know Nunes went 5 rounds with her because she felt like it, but still Felicia can say she wasn't finished by Cyborg or Nunes
These stories are some of the reasons why I love the UFC. The heart that some of these peeps show is inspirational.

I’ll give Calvin Kattar exactly one flower for somehow being able to resume fighting after that mauling by Max Holloway. For better or worse, he lasted the full five rounds. And I think most of us after taking such a vicious, lopsided beating would say, “That’s it, no more. This isn’t worth it anymore.”

Took me almost a decade to become a Hardy fan. GSP was my fave too. As we went to the same school (he was a couple years younger than me) and grew up in the same town, he was my absolute favorite fighter until he retired instantly after the Bisping fight. Never sat right with me.

What ever happened to Joe Soto? I only remember that one fight.
He would go 3-4 after the TJ Dillashaw fight before being cut from the promotion in 2018 and hasn't fought since. His final UFC record stood at 3-5.
