Woodley vs Thompson 1 was fight of the night, 2 was..... the exact opposite haha.

Jones vs Gus 2. the first was so close alot of people thinking Gus was the only guy that could beat Jon and he just got ran through in the rematch

I really liked how Usman came back from the 1st fight with Masvidal. Back then Masvidal had so many fans who have jumped on another bandwagon now, but they were saying that Usman was afraid to stand with Masvidal and all he could do was play footsie. 2nd fight later, Usman played with Masvidal’s jaw. The hype for Masvidal left quicker than his fans.

First woodley Thompson bout was a majority draw, not decision. Which added to the anticipation for a rematch and made it even more exciting in hindsight ala figgy Moreno 1

I think saying “close decisions can go either way” is a bit of an injustice to Sterling. Majority of people gave him the first round, a lot of people gave him at least one 10-8 round in 2 and 3 and Yan didn’t get the finish. It wasn’t complete dominance for 5 rounds but it was a deserving win, not every close fight is a robbery
I'd say by definition a close fight isn't a robbery. It's only a robbery if there's no reasonable way you could justify the decision.

@@stacc2922 I gave Sterling the first 3 rounds 10/9 and Yan the last 2 10/9. Sure, Yan was coming forward in round 1 but he did literally nothing. Sterling at least landed _some_ shots while moving back so it has to be his round.
Aljo beating yan was the funniest thing ever. So many salty yan fans that thought they "knew" yan had it in the bag😂
I was soo salty about that win omg. Especially because he looked better than Yan too. Sterling looked like a champion.

That thumbnail sums up the entire video. I was saying that Aljo was gong to come out on top for the second match, and I caught so much flack for simply typing it online. So I could only imagine the negativity that Aljo himself was getting.

Johnson vs Cejudo 2. First fight Cejudo loss in the first round by TKO. Second fight with a instant classic at Flyweight. Should be an honorable mention even though it’s been shouted out on this channel a lot.
Johnson vs Dodson 1 was a brawl while Johnson vs Dodson 2 was pretty terrible. lol

I remember watching bisping vs rock hold 2 with no expectations of bisping having a chance and when he got that when I think I had about the same reaction as him. I went apeshit like he was my friend winning the title lol he won the first season of tuf I watched and was always a fan because of how obnoxiously hilarious he was. Probably the best moment as an mma fan I’ve gotten to see other than the shock win Diaz got over Mcgregor. Now it seems obvious it will always be a close great fight whenever they meet but I feel like at the time everyone expected Diaz to get mauled but hoped he’d pull it off and he did just that. This sport is truly the best.

Cormier got Stipe with eye pokes in all 3 fights, and I think he had a detached retina after the second. I can easily see Stipe being blind after a few rounds with Jones.

Not a huge DC fan but that eyepoke in the Trilogy was brutal and changed the fight.

Chuck Liddell said that your body starts getting knocked out easier as your body is trying to help prevent more damage to the brain. He is a great fighter but some people need to know when to call it quits. Good idea for a video though!!

An honorable mention, imo, is Conor v Nate 2. I don’t think many people expected that Conor would be able to make it passed round 3, let alone win a fight that went to decision. It also showed significant growth on his part, having better defense against Nate, slightly better cardio, and a much better understanding of Nate’s weaknesses. An amazing fight that I think is worthy of at least being in the top 15
