You forgot to mention that Mazzagatti verbally asked Matt, who was deaf, if he could continue. And of course he didn't get a response and that's how the fight was stopped. Truly the worst fluke possible.
I remember being at a buddies UFC party when that fight happened. Was a BS call. But damnit was it pretty funny.
That's embarrassing

"The only thing more absurd than that was the night they woke Matt Hughes up and informed him, HE was the champion." - Chael P. Sonnen
Jesus is the truth.
Frank Trigg, welterweight champ for 30 seconds
The best part of the Hamill-Jones issue was Mazzagatti asking Hamill if he was okay to continue, then stopping the bout when Matt didn't respond...
Because he's literally deaf.
I was literally gonna say that 🤣
@@skorpion3993 yea bro literally
"ridiculous"
Mazzagatti GOAT ref confirmed
Hes deaf not dumb. He clearly knows how to read lips (like most do) and use context clues. Plus we know he can respond. Have you not seen him do interviews?
Anderson somehow getting an illegitimate sub on Chael P Sonnen better be on the list
He was just using the dreaded tickle attack of Silvas thigh
You must be mistaken. As I recall, Chael has never lost a round.
He thought by tapping he lost the round, nobody properly explained the rules to Papa Chael
Speakin the truth
For real tho. How much mental toughness does it take to recover from that triangle and having the title slip away and be able to go out in front of the media and put on a show of arrogance with all of the clever excuses for the fight and the TRT he got popped for post fight.
This was the most Tommy Toe Hold esque MMA On Point list I have seen.
Well we did see Jake get his toe held by the cage
Say what???
Hearing Tommy recount MMA lore makes my work days so much better. MMA On Point is the best.
I like how we don't have to see Tommy's face like the other guys.
yeah i literally skip the videos with bayliun. that voice is mad annoying
@@OEGOD man I like that guy cmon don’t hate
@@rileyhayden8929 That's my opinion go cry about it

@@OEGOD I feel like he's trying too hard, his narration seems forced in comparison to Tommy's especially. Oh, and I don't know if he edits his own videos, but if so he likes the sight of himself way too much

10 Times when a Blackbelt lost to a lower ranked opponent in his own Discipline
one happened recently. That savage 170lb top of food chain grappler from Brazil got tapped by guillotine after he blew his wad with the ten takedowns or something. I know both names and saw it live but cant recall either for life of me lol. He looked sharp though in his last fight.
Jon tapped vitor, who was a black belt. Jon was literally a white belt at the time.
Rodolfo Viera being subbed by fluffy comes to mind. Also Gsp out grappling every opponent he had lol.
@@RagingOatmeal thats the one i couldnt recall the name. Viera getting subbed albeit through sheer exhaustion but guill'ed up nonetheless
lmao that is not fluky . It is just that BJJ guys when transition to MMA get their face elbowed and punched on the ground . Everything changes when strikes are introduced .
Surprised Aljo and Petr didn't make it, or Chris Weidman and Hall.
Hall did something at least
@@richardgordon0407 he didnt even throw a strike
@@donttouchmysoda6178 good check is also a skill and a move to make.
@@richardgordon0407 Lol no. He did literally nothing. Not his fault that he won though and he definitely didn't want it that way so no hate on Uriah.
@@richardgordon0407 Yeah you could see how proud he was of his "good skill check" finish after the bout.
You need more knowledge of what you're watching.
Imagine if the fight of Bones VS Hamill was a title fight. Hamill would've became a champion.
yup, and another close one was if jones vs sonnen had gone to round 2, or 3 but think it was finished in 1st, and they saw the toe. That was for the belt
@@michaellyras2809 Also if Anthony Smith wasn't able to continue after receiving an illegal knee. Jones would of been disqualified again
Was Hamill that close to a title shot? I don't remember that to be the case
@@justincombs7440 damn thats right. I was just talking bout that not long ago, cause of aljo, and totally slipped my mind. Thats two belts right there on top of the hypothetical post of if hammill vs jones had been for belt also. Great one

Tommy is without a doubt the best of all MMA on Point. I want him to be a commentator in actual fights.
Time to insert "always great to hear Tommy Toeholds voice" comments down below
Tommy is my favorite bro just the way he talks about the fighters is funny.
You know it’s gonna be a great week when Tommy is narrating a new video.
I saw a tweet from John McCarty a couple years ago when he said that Hamill actually had his shoulder dislocated after a TD from Jones and that the fight could have been stopped there without the unnecessary damage and the DQ.
It’s a weird one tho, because Big John came out with this, there was no follow up, no confirmation by any parties and nothing done with it. Feel like it wasn’t true
@@kieran5246 I use to be a huge jbj fan and I remember this fight well cause he loss and 100% Hamill said his shoulder was dislocated and couldn’t continue when they tried to reset, will try and find the footage.
3:32 I literally experienced the exact same injury. Threw a wild overhand and my shoulder dislocated. Hearing that Aldo continued kicking his arm after that happened made me wince in pain I can’t even imagine how bad that shit hurt.

Wait, where’s Aljo vs Petr Yan?? That was also a very fluky win.
I wouldnt call that one a fluke because that knee was so obviously illegal.
Like maybe if he was on the way down and just becoming a downed opponent when the knee landed.
@@fairplayjay understandable
@@fairplayjay I don't see how kneeing a downed opponents is any different than Jones's 12-6 elbows

We need a Holloway, Oliveira and Ferguson Spiderman meme XD
i will definitely tell my grandchildren about the weirdest mma finishes
since you're also adding a 5th round injury after Aldo basically won 3 rounds and on his way to win via UD
why didn't you add the 1st round Mcgregor leg injury ?
and since you're also adding DQs how come you didn't mention the Aljo DQ win which gave him the world title !
Cater to the casuals
As a guys who’s gone through multiple shoulder dislocations I can assure you it lives up to the hype

Tooommy!!! Thanks for come back! My english is not that good to understand the other guy :S
My favorite video so far
Flukey needs an E in it.
Otherwise it sounds like "Flukky"
I remember that #6 happened in a fight in the IFC as well where a fighter got his foot got caught between the mat and cage. And I remember a fight in a Russian Absolute tournament where a fighter fell on the canvas and broke his arm. If I remember right, his opponent was Igor Vovchanchin.
Nice to see the term fluke crosses the pond
Now I wanna see the Diaz bros vs. Thanos thanks to that joke, thanks Tommy lol

Idk wym about the Hammil v jones fight. They were some devastating 12 to 6 headbutts to jones elbow from hammil. Surprised the ref didnt stop it sooner
Damn I didn't know Tommy was the American Steve Bradbury like that on the ice rink. As an Australian, you have my respect
I love tommy
Dustin Porier telekinetically breaking conors leg via submission

Thanks for the Manny Gambo nod. No one EVER talks about this. Not saying Nate wouldn't have still had a stellar career but it was a gift at the beginning of it.
Sterling vs yan is probably on here lol
Gotta love autocorrect lol
Oscar sterling 😆🤣😅😅😂😂😂
at 1:35 "Herb Dean immediately stepped in" ... was HD the ref in this fight?
"Matt's country ass" 🤣
So much better than the post 265 video
Haven't been a jon jones fan since his craziness a few years back but he got robbed against Hamill, he dominated the fight until the dq, and is flawless in his fight career
Wouldn’t say he’s flawless in his fight career since he failed a drug test 😂
Evened out when they gave him the win over Reyes even though Reyes clearly won rounds 1-3
"ooooooo he's got'en arm off!!"
Hey Tommy @ 1:34 , Yeah that’s obviously not herb dean but actually ufc ref Jacob Montalvo

First of Tommy is awesome second I have missed this background song. Does anyone know its name?
Mark Kerr, Matt Lindland, and Gray Maynard DDTing themselves with takedowns should've AT LEAST got honorable mentions. Modern MMA fans' collective memory is less than that of a single goldfish.
My acl and mcl and meniscus blew out in one go. Just thought I sprained the knee. Didn’t realize it for 10 years.
The esophagus tear from Oliveria is just scary.
I love Tommy , when there guys start talking it's over for me
I cant believe that he used to teach kids. What a cool guy to learn from.
Best MMA channel EVER, better than just watching the UFC by itself
Korean zombie and cub Swanson are both legends , both beat the diamond , amazing fights with him too.
Ian mccall getting scratched by the ring ropes needs a mention
Chuckie oliveira. Tony really is the gift that keeps on giving.
Wow this list taught me that chucky olives could really be on a 19 fight win streak if he hadn’t torn his esophagus. The closer we get to this fight, the more I think he has a chance to out point Poitier and win a 48-47 decision.
Before watching, masvidal Ellenburger, Guida rda, zombie vs aldo and damn can’t think of any others..
legitimate honorable mention for Shane Burgos vs Makwan Amirkhani
Did anyone else notice that was steve mazzagatti, not herb dean that called the condit vs. Woodley finish?
only thing i didnt expect was that most of these victories were gonna happen anyway or were headed in that direction rather than the winner going from a losing situation to an instant win. it doesnt seem to match the theme here but i think mike russo vs tod duffee would be a prime example.
as soon as I saw that #10 entry "GODDAMN RIGHT THAT WAS FLUKY AS FUCK"
I saw at least one version of the Hammill v Jones saga claim that the fight was stopped because Matt - a profoundly deaf man - didn't respond to Mazzagati's verbal "can you continue," asked from a spot where the Hammer couldn't see Steve-O talking to him.
2:16 never thought I'd see iDubbz in an MMA on Point video 😂
Oliveira vs Holloway 2 would be fun to see someday.
Dislocated my shoulder worse feeling ever didn’t go back in until like an hour later had to drive to the hospital lmao.
Predictions:
Olivera vs Holloway
Askren vs Lawler
Sterling vs Yan
Ankalaev vs Cutelaba
Tommy is the best
Yo, too harsh on Steven Bradbury. That guy definitely earned the gold. His career was plagued with injuries and more and he knew his only chance was to hope they had a tumble at some point. He may not have truly earned it in that race, but he definitely earned it for all the years he put into the sport to have even got a shot at the gold
Stephen Bradbury should have a public holiday named after him.
@@outlawrip-offartist4161 I took this from some other comments on a video of about him:
"Just read his Wikipedia article and it says that he missed out on medals in prior Olympics because of crashes and getting pushed by a competitor, had his thigh cut open in a crash in which he almost bled to death on the ice, and literally broke his neck trying to jump over a crashed opponent he was too close to and was told he'd never skate again. That last one was 2 years before this race. So, logically, after so many bad crashes screwing him over and literally almost killing him, TWICE, he said "I'm going to hang back and hope the other racers crash". The real lesson here isn't that he was some lucky dummy who randomly won a medal, the real lesson is that speed skating is f@#$ing dangerous and crashes happen all the time."
"He said in an interview that he felt conflicted about accepting gold when he was obviously not anywhere near being the best skater, but he said "I decided to take it, not for today, but for the years and years of sacrifice and hard work I'd put in to get to that final."
"Doing a Bradbury" is one of the best Aussie things ever :-)"

Reactii de la Andi Moisescu si Florin Calinescu ? Nice!
You forgot to mention that JBJ dislocated Matt's shoulder during that trip long before he threw the illegal elbows. Adding to the fluke
I can understand, we totally forgot about Sterling👌🏼
Surprised Jîri vs vs Texeira wasn't on here
Its quite interesting that both Stun Gun and the Zombie, the two most prominent Korean fighters to compete in the UFC are both on the list.
Other good ones would be Yan vs Sterling and Sanchez vs Pereira!
The hughes newton fight is actually right because newton held onto the fence just long enough for the choke to work, matt would have slammed him sooner had newton not done that. And yes it was illegal at the time to grab the fence.
