Emerging car needed to be sure there was no traffic in the left-hand lane, and the cammer needed to be a bit more prepared for the possibility. I've got the advantage of watching this in a compilation where I know something is coming, but it was still obvious from how fast the cammer was moving in relation to the view they had what was going to happen. Still really good to have avoided a crash, but it's important to look at what everyone could have done better.

#12 - If you don’t have the correct tyres appropriate for the conditions outside then either get some or don’t drive in those conditions, it’s that simple.
I don’t know why the U.K. population hasn’t adopted all-season tyres as standard fitment to cars - then you’ve got a compromise for any temperature all year round.
Instead people drive on summer tyres (which are proven to be useless in an emergency or steep hills at temperatures below around 7/8 degrees as the compound ceases to grip the road properly) in conditions like that and wonder what’s happened when they demolish someone’s wall.

lol. It’s the Aston Expressway into Birmingham. He’s heading out away to the spaghetti junction, away from the city.
The lights above lanes can change to match the direction of congestion. In the video there is 3 lanes heading out eastward and 3 lanes coming in - yet the middle lane (4 of 7) is marked ‘X’ for both directions.
There is always an X empty lane in both directions, even when you only have 2 lanes, the opposing traffic will only have 4… ie 6 lanes in use but again 1 empty.
The overtake is illegal and highly dangerous. In all my years using that road I never saw that happen unless it was a brief mistake.
Although it seems like the cammer is lane hogging, this is one of those roads you have to choose early as round that bend can be stopped congestion and nobody will let you in - over their dead body.

@@bravo2966 The vast majority of drivers in the UK engage in speeding mainly 35 mph in the 30 mph limit areas. I should not consider this as inconsiderate or careless. It is done by the majority without a terrible outcome. In your original post you say speed is a "contributory factor" in six out of seven fatal accidents. That is not the cause but a factor. Speeding is often confused with excess speed whereas they are totally different things and where the confusion starts.
