He was drunk yelling that he was God laying on the stairs having an ego moment telling everyone at the party to worship him. The friends came to get her to calm him and get him settled . In her attempt they exchanged drunken & hurtful words which lasted through them going to the gas station and ultimately ended in a fight.

Yeah it was deep. I think she knew she owed and was wrong, but I truly believe the levels it escalated to took her to a point of no return. She’s hurting beyond the altercation.
