- The plaintiff says when he was younger, he was a drug dealer and nearly lost his life. After turning his life around, he became a pastor in Orlando. He is suing his son’s ex-girlfriend for a bail bond plus interest after he bonded out the defendant’s son from jail. The defendant has two grown sons with the plaintiff’s son and raised them as a single mother. She admits the plaintiff did bond out her son from jail, but she feels he should sue her son for the money since he’s a grown adult.

This ruling was completely ridiculous
Judge Mathis rule in his personal feelings
I completely agree with you. Judge Mathis is ruling with his emotions. I can't believe that was his ruling. I'm actually shocked.
@@teygunz You are so right.
Agreed she's the one made the agreement not his son
He jumped down that man's throat soon as he started speaking
Out of her own mouth she said her son is 22 and needs to be held accountable.... she shoulda been saying that when she was reaching out for money to bond him out & AGREEING to pay the granddad back.
Agreed!
She and the grandfather made an agreement. She owes the money. JM was wrong for that. You word is your bond
I agree with u. JM was wrong with this one. A verbal contract/agreement is binding. The woman asked for the loan and agreed to repay the loan, but then changed her mind. That's not the pastor's fault. I fully disagree with the verdict on this case.
@@tajavillasenor5923 yep she needs to repay him or get the son to pay him so he can be made whole.. for doing them that favor. I love how the son ain't in court with her 😒while she's fighting his battles 🙄
@@allymaree8812 i was thinking the same thing. The son isn't even there in court besides her. He is probably still out running the streets and making bad decisions. That's what the mom even had said, that her son's hadn't changed their lives.
Judge Mathis is extremely biased as a judge. Because she’s a single mother smh she shouldn’t have agreed to pay back Kmt
It’s the KMT for me 😂😂😂 you Jamaican?
I agree, you watch other episodes in his earlier days and it’s completely opposite
I knew by the title that man lost.
no i think the judge had a problem with letting the man off the hook that got bailed out of jail . he is a man of legal adult age and he should be the one that the plaintiff should go after , not the defendant because the defendant is not the one who benefited from the money. its fair and just to go after the son because it was the son's debt .
@@marleonetti7 it was the grandson not his son
I disagree with the judge's ruling. The woman called him asking for the $$ & agreed to pay him back. That is a VERBAL CONTRACT. He gave her more than adequate time to pay, but she had already made up in her mind, probably as she was on the phone asking for the money, that she had NO INTENTION OF PAYING A DIME OF IT BACK!! I think the judge blew this 1 just because the plaintiff was a man of the cloth & thinking he should turn the other cheek!!
Judge been slipping lately
He is wrong. She asked for the loan so it’s her responsibility.
I agree.
Dang straight it’s her responsibility. JM just wanted a chance to put the phoney Plaintiff in check. Lol
Y’all missing the entire point. The point is the son was locked up and I bet you he asked her to do it because he probably wouldn’t help him if he asked alone. Honestly right is right and wrong is wrong. When did morality get lost in this world? Morally they both should be paying it back…
I was completely shocked by the verdict of this case. Cases like this remind you that it’s a tv show and not actual court. On another note, he shouldn’t have charged interest.
That’s what I thought those your grandkids and you didn’t do it for me but she should have made him sit in there
This isn’t legally correct at all. She called and asked for the money so she should have to pay it back. It doesn’t matter what the money is for she borrowed it!
Big Facts 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I agree. He turned this into a moral issue, when he’s not the judge of morality, he’s a judge of legality, so he should’ve stayed in that lane.
JM was dead ass wrong on this one and it is becoming quite frequent.... I dont like it. Go by the law good judge, not your feelings
Any other case, he’d give the plaintiff the judgment 🙄🙄🙄
I agree, I was hoping the minister would let her slide but this ruling wasn’t legal at all. He should file some sort of lawsuit against judge Mathis. It’s unethical.
Judge Mathis heard the word "pastor" and his whole mind lit up. He couldn't wait to get this man together 😄
I agree. He goes in on church folk. I wonder why. 🤨
😂😂😂
Sorry JM. I disagree. A deal is a deal. She needs to come up with the bread. Ijs
right....the agreement was with HER...not the son or grandson! Nobody said it was fair, life isn't fair, she borrowed the money.
He right the dad got to take responsibility too not just the mother
Please explain to me how this man walked out the courtroom without getting his money. Judge Mathis is dead wrong for making this personal and unlawful decision. I don't care who it is. If you borrow money to go get a grown man out of jail then your responsible for paying it back. Also, JM kept calling him REV. It was JM that kept pushing the man to speak on his Ministry.
Mathis hit him with the "this is what we doing?????" That's my guy
That was not fair. He is teaching women to use Single Mother as a way to beat people out of their money.
He should have went to judge Judy! Pastor or not! Ijs! Give that man his money
Exactly 💯👍.
But he didn't.
I’m glad most of those who commented agree! I was like witw!
I love Judge Mathis and I know that he wants people to be inspirational is he is... but sometimes he goes too hard to these people who have changed their lives he really did not have to go so hard at this man
I know it almost seems as he was intimidated by him🤔
First few minutes had me clutching my pearls. He had his foot on the plaintiffs neck right away.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought this
I think grandfather should have the grandson help him out the church to work off the money, or have all three of them pay him back
Are you kidding, he tried to charge her $300 interest, I think jm missed that. He’s such a man of the cloth, I guess he didn’t know the Bible prohibits charging interest.
I agree them grand kids should help to work thar money off
The dusty son should pay
@@peryole I missed that part because I didn't hear anything about $300 interest, but if he wants his money back then he only should get back what he paid to get him out
She’s the one who ask to borrow the money. She should pay him back. And then have her son pay her back. It’s not the parents or grandparents fault that the young man decided to do whatever he did to get locked up.
This is why people don't watch this show anymore. JM had No legal basis to dismiss this case. She asked, he put $ in her hand and she doesn't have to repay? He's so damn emotional
Here you are and I watching 🧐
He really be getting on my last nerve trying to be some good moral compass. You are absolutely right. She asked for the money, he gave it to HER so the person who's hand he put it in needs to put it back in his hand.

I'd never give them another dime. This ruling was definitely unfair. She asked for the money.
Judge is right: the "child" is an ADULT. He has locus standi. Grand Pa should sue the ADULT son
He made an agreement with her. She called and asked for the money and said she would pay it back. Mathis is a joke.
The judge implied he should sue his own son who told him upfront that he couldn’t afford the loan. The judge is wrong. Sue the 22 year old adult, not the mother or father.
@@janalove-tunstull6316 He has to sue the person he went into the contract with, which he did.
That's not the law. The agreement wasn't with his son. That woman knew she wasn't paying him all along. Take the case to another court. And get your money. Telling that man how he should live as a preacher and the judge can't quote three bible scriptures. GOH.
He should sue the person who borrowed the money. There are probably a lot of people on this show who borrow money to help another adult…be it their friend, sibling, spouse or parent. But the judge doesn’t deny the plaintiff a judgement simply because the money was borrowed to help someone over the age of 18. If I borrow money from a bank to help an adult friend, do you think I could then turn around and tell the bank to get their money from *them,* and not me? 😂
Glad the grandfather is giving back and helping the community.
Regardless of what the money was for she called and borrowed it.. theres ppl in my family who can’t borrow money from me but they wife can cause she pay back 🤷🏾♀️ maybe granddad prefer he stay in jail learn the lesson the judge learned????

JM starting to get on my nerves. Ain’t nobody obligated to share their life story if they don’t want to!!!
JM Intimidated the plaintiff so bad he was scared to ask for his money. And had the nerve to ask the plaintiff what was “fair and just” while being totally unfair and unjust. 😳🤦🏽♂️
The plantiff is like "yeah yeah" ..like judge shut up please and let me speak 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right or wrong, I always microscopically examine ex-drug dealers, drug addicts and jailbirds who suddenly want to preach. There are so many of them conning and scheming from the pulpit (particularly old, black women who need their money).
Well the old ladies (idk y you said black but anyway…. ) should pray for discernment and not listen to false preachers
It's an easy job for someone who never really wanted to work and is more of a talker than a doer. They name drop God and Jesus to convince people to trust and follow them.
This situation a lil different I think bc he wasn’t “supposed” to live according to drs but after actually surviving he knew due to him growing up in church his life no longer was his he 1000% undoubtedly owed it to the Lord.
The ones that are in it just for the money usually ain’t about to give nobody a dime although I definitely understand what u mean this guy a good one I think
Judge had this one wrong, the son didn't make the agreement. I would appeal this so fast. 😂
Mathis be working my nerves talking to a grown man like that
AFTER watching this, all I can reiterate is, I LOVE JM, I really DO ❤️
Dang JM wouldn’t even let that man talk.
LOL JM is going to FORCE someone to tell their story whether they want to or not then ridicule/joke on them lol smh probably why they DON'T want to.
These names are the best part
Mr Reverend the Holy Scriptures say not to sue one another, secondly don't charge interest

It’s an injustice to ask for the money you loaned someone back ? … guess I missed that one 🤦🏽♀️
As much as he should get the money from multiple ppl the ruling was wrong. Since when it matters what the money was for rather than the contract at hand!
That part he should’ve gotten his money…then the mother sue the son…
Right
💯
She should’ve never agreed to pay him back. That’s a binding contract. If he goes to court with the son he can say he didn’t have an agreement with him. It’s just sad. Justice failed.
I was so hoping that Grandad got his money back. This is why i don’t loan money to friends or family. 22 is old enough to be responsible for his actions!
He’s trifling hold your son accountable too
Judge Mathis made a just moral ruling. I am happy that JM enlightened Pastor on how much this woman has done for his grand and how little accountability Pastor is assigning to his son. Prayers for the mother. I suggest she go to Nar-Anon for Families
He can't ever even answer a question. He just blurts out random inspirational quotes 😂😂 what a pastor thing to do
First of all, I wonder what the grandson did to get bail set at $22k.
Second, this case had me scratching my head. Although I understand where the judge is coming from with regard to holding both parents responsible, the son didn't ask for the money. In fact, he didn't even know his son was in jail, which is sad already. The plaintiff had to tell him. IDK about this one.
It was only $2,500 not $25k but still a large amount. Civil cases don’t go that high in amount if I’m not mistaken
I’ve seen some misdemeanors be 22k bail you pay 10% to get our
@@carolinehead8165 I could have sworn she asked for $2200, which would mean his bail was set at $22k. You'd have to pay 10% of the bail to get out.

@@carolinehead8165 he was wondering why the bail was set so high that 2200 is 10% if the bail was lower they wouldn’t have needed that much
She has to pay because she borrowed the money, regardless of what it was used for. She chose to bail her adult son out of jail, the father is not responsible for him anymore. These are adult children.
JM is wrong legally for this ruling but logically he’s absolutely right !!
No he’s wrong logically as well. You must mean Morally
She asked for the money by hee damn self. I get it about her raising the kids but that man should have got his money. She wrong.
She could sue her son daddy. And stop borrowing money from the Grandfather or let the grandkids stay in jail until they learn that their is more to life than living life as a slave in prison.#OBP BLUESMAN
The judge said get them birds not them 8 balls😂😂
His son did not enter into any agreement with the plaintiff.
You enter a contract you owe the obligation to the other party and not a person that isn’t part of the deal. I hate when Judge Mathis rules on personal sentiment and not rule of law.
Yeah....I'm going to have to stop watching Judge Mathis. This ruling had no legal basis and was completely absurd! I've been extremely disappointed in Mathis lately.
You gon keep watchin tho I know I am 😂
This was a first. She made the deal with him and she still owes him.
She needed to pay him back what she borrowed and take it up with her 'grown' son.
I don't know why the plaintiff didn't answer, "Because she borrowed it".
Judge Mathis acts like this with anybody that says they are Christian. SMH
Get them bird’s…get your weight up 😂😂😂😂Judge Mathis a fool for that one
Sooo, you bails your grandson out of jail and then sues his mother...😒
Make it make sense, sir.
Sir, you should have stayed home with this foolishness. 😂😂😂
“They need to start their own business” ….I agree 💯%!!!
Also, since your son should be sued for the money, you should’ve had that same thought process and LEFT HIM IN JAIL like Judge Mathis’ mom did. I’m surprised he didn’t bring that up! Smh… sad case and ruling.
They got some names on them..
Well I kinda knew the case would turn out like that but hoped it wouldn't. I was hoping that the man would get the judgment and the woman would have to sue her son. I think that's how it would usually go but the guy came in with his back history and swelling morality and I guess JM believed he has a greater moral responsibility. This is grey. I get everyone's points. I think that if you're in jail, you should pay back those monies paid for your life betterment. I feel like if you ask for the money to help someone get out of jail, you're on the hook also because you want this to happen. Also, if you're a minister, and a woman is taking care of her sons without help, you could have at least done half.
Lol wack response. That man shouldn't be suing anybody for getting his own grandson out of jail? He's a schemer. Also seems like he's just as present in his son's life, and his grandchildrens lives, as his son is. Deadbeat breeds a deadbeat if you don't teach him better
I thought the judge was gonna give him half. I was shocked when he didn't give him anything. I really thought he was gonna give him $1200 and tell him to sue the son for the other $1200
Judge Mathis might the right judgment! It’s not the defendant’s responsibility to pay the plaintiff! The plaintiff needs to sue his grandson!

She needs to stop getting her Son out. When they get out quick they typically don’t learn a lesson.
Wow if I was the guy I would be pissed and taking this to a higher court. She literally admitted she asked to borrow it and agrees to pay it back plus interest. The son didn’t call him bc if he did he prob would have told him no! She called therefore she should be the one paying it back. The judge picks and chooses and was extremely biases in this case and he shouldn’t be able to rule on his feelings!!
I hope his followers saw this and realized the type of chauvinistic man they’re following and and go someplace else. The burden has been on her all those boys life and his son ain’t helped at all.
She’s the one that made the agreement. Point blank.
He said his son said that he didn't have it , she asked for it so she needs to pay him.
She called and asked for the money! Not his son. This don’t make no sense. Very crazy ruling
She called for the money. She should have returned it and go after her son
This is a disgrace, if he's tired, he shouuld just retire.
I mean she should of paid half
JM be on that bs sometimes. First off he be acting like he was nino brown in the streets. He making fun of what the plantiff went thru. She asked him for the money and said she would pay him back.
It's just that simple she borrowed the money pay it back... She wanted him out so bad and he didn't pay her so now he doesn't get his hard earned money back...
If she wanted her son to have a sense of responsibility she should have left him in jail. You don't borrow money with the intentions of not paying back.
Keep it real Old Head 😂
I agree with the judge this time. This pastor needs to be checked. Not only is he unjust by not holding his son accountable and the grandson but he’s greedy as hell charging her interests like he’s going to report that interest income to the IRS. Shame on him.
He should be ashamed suing this woman
And the Pastor says ...go head and add $300 to it....WOW...the greed😑
I don’t care who raised him 100% of the time. She called him for the money. She didn’t call and make an agreement with the father and grandfather. Also, that son is an adult. Regardless of the past, this is a current situation as an adult resulting in a mistake that he made, so why should the father or the grandfather be held liable… or Even the mother? This was a loan… Plain and simple! She should be ashamed of herself for trick bagging the grandfather, knowing that he would have some sort of soft spot that she could play on.
JM..you got this case right and the preacher/grandfather should be ashamed of himself...you will sue the mother but does nothing to your sorry son.
How you a pastor but gonna charge your own family $300 in interest 😂
