  • Following suit of my prior Pokemon videos, my next opponent is another one of my community members, ASCENSiON. I've got two battles for you guys and I hope you all enjoy them. Rest assured, these battles got pretty wild.

Love seeing more Pokémon battles. Fast paced matches can be so intense. Makes me wanna try having a battle against Ascension.

Chiefs won it again (unfortunately), so let's talk about my battles, specifically the second one.
When Ninetales casts an Aurora Veil, my team usually ends up so tanky that some set-up would ultimately lead to huge sweeps from Minior and Cinccino, and occasional ragequits from people online (this happens quite often lol).
Without the Aurora Veil, surviving becomes much harder. My thought process was "try and force out Ninetales". And that *almost* worked, as Justin debated bringing her out a few times. Unfortunately, bad luck with accuracy and paralysis with Cinccino, as well as a misplay, led to a loss.
The second match is where I had a lot of misplays. Alongside my waste of terastallization with Hydrapple, switching to Minior against Houndoom was another big misplay, and I mostly did it due to the 2-stage special attack decrease from Draco Meteor and burn that Archaludon suffered. Minior went to waste, and then I later sacrificed Archaludon again so Rabsca could resurrect it alongside another fallen teammate (thanks to the leppa berry), removing the burn.
Unfortunately after one resurrection, Rabsca was obliterated by Ninetales, and instead of Archaludon, I brought out my own Ninetales to remove the sunlight, hoping to cast an Aurora Veil. My own trick room was the cause of my Ninetales getting outsped by Justin's, and it unfortunately got killed by a fire blast.
Despite those misplays, those battles were absolutely wild. Minior and Rabsca's movesets came from Haydunn's videos, where he shares competitive movesets for underappreciated Pokémon, so definitely check him out. GGs!

Me bringing Kantonian Ninetales was just a coincidence. I just wanted to use it. I really wasn't expecting K-Ninetales to be a threat, but as soon as I saw your Alolan Ninetales, I knew how important my Ninetales was going to be. If I let Aurora Veil get put up, your team would've been nearly impossible to stop (Hydrapple is tanky enough as is, a lesson I learned from Pokefox the hard way.)
Please excuse me for miss-naming Minior. I actually do not have much experience with gen 6 and 7 as I skipped both after being absent from the Pokemon scene for at least 7 years. Many Pokemon from both those generations I know little about and have yet to battle.
I agree with the assessment on your side of things. That early Tera with Hydrapple was definitely a mistake. Given that it was weakened after duking it out with Mismagius, you left Hydrapple an easy target for Arcanine (as Arcanine was definitely my hardest hitting Pokemon because of the raw power of its moves, you don't want to ever give it a free turn.
So Minior and Houndoom. If it were me, I would've just let Archaludon go down here and then send Cinccino after Houndoom. That play would have forced me to take a risk as multi-hit moves render Focus Sash useless. This I think would've changed the battle's direction for sure.
I think that's all the big stuff. I think these battles turned into "the player that loses Ninetales first will lose" kind of deal. These battles were definitely fun with the mind games and the nicknames of your Pokemon brought humor into the battles lol. Ggs
