베란다에서 깻잎과 방아잎을 키우다니👍
I love your videos! I bought my dad your cook book years ago, and we enjoyed MANY amazing Korean dishes. You gave him purpose in his retirement, and I look back fondly at all of those amazing memories. Thank you!!
Hi.are there any desserts in her cookbook?😊
Why am i just npw finding out she has a book 😢
@@sm00gzbearshe has 2 cookbooks and both of them are great! Her traditional Kimchi recipe (in first book and on CZcams) are like the gateway drug to Korean cooking. Follow her recipe. Pay attention to her technique. You will not be disappointed 🤤
"You gave him purpose in his retirement, ..." Thank you! I'm glad to have been a part of those wonderful memories. It means a lot to hear your kind words.
How nice!
I grow my own perilla leaves too after learning about them from you. They sell the seedlings at the Korean supermarket and they grow into a huge plant
That's a very important tip!
Omg! You are right. I grew them for the first time this year. I have so many leaves. It’s a good thing my chickens like helping me eat them!
Living overhere in korea. One of the things I look forward to in autumn is when my farm road bike rides take me past a small family farm ( often a family's weekend farm on a small plot of ancestral land) that has grown perilla plants to seed and have cut and dried them. When they thresh out the perilla seeds: the fragrance is an emphemeral hidden treasure of Korea's countryside.!
Thank you very much for your nice comments and messages as always! Love you all! ❤
I just finished Korean caption, so English and Korean captions are available. 영어, 한국어 자막 올렸어요!
I made this - and it was SO delicious! (I love it when you tell us ways to use your recipes like a Korean would, and how long we can store the recipe safely.) ❤
@@suzannes5888 I'm glad you loved your kkaennip jangtteok! You can keep it in the fridge for a couple of days.
I have been watching your show for over 10 years. When I was young I saw your perilla leaf kimchi recipe. We did not know this vegetable but somehow we found seeds for it and I grew it in our garden and made the kimchi. It was very good but my father said : "this is just a weed how can you eat that !" Apparently he knew the plant but didn't know you can eat it.
👍

I just made this with spinach and it was so good! Thanks for always having great recipes
👏
Maangchi is and always will be the best teacher of Korean cuisine on CZcams ❤❤ Thank You Maangchi ❤❤
And I'm happy you introduced perilla leaves to me. They are really tasty.
Love the porch garden! I interplant perilla leaves in my garlic beds. This help deter the chewing insects that would make my leaves not look perfect. That way I have plenty to use throughout the growing season.
Maangchi is a national treasure!
I never knew you could cook perilla leaves like this! I love wrapping meat and garlic with perilla leaves, and the fragrance of the perilla really elevates the taste of the meat. I can only imagine how good this will taste! Thank you for sharing yet another amazing recipe ❣️
Yes, it's our traditional dish. Happy cooking!
your channel introduced me to perilla leaves! i love them now and i hope to try this dish some day
I also made jeon with perilla leaves today for lunch. It is yummy always. I will try to make jang tteok with your recipe!!! Thank you for sharing❤
Great!👏
Oh wow I have been subscribed to you for almost 10 years now and you haven’t aged a day!! Wow
깻잎 너무 반가워요. 직접 키워서 요리 하시니 신선하고 맛있겠죠.
한국요리의 고수이신 망치님! 멋지세요👍👍😍
i use these delicious pancakes as if they were the fish to top the sushi rice, making them with all sorts of vegetables like mushrooms and chives and even potatoes and aubergine or zucchini. They are always a total success with all my family., thank you for all these wonderful super delicious recipes you teach us, they are soooooooooooooooo good!!!
I live in Australia (I am from Serbia)more than 40 years and never seen parila lives and after seeing your recipes I found on eBay seeds and grow last season but did not know how to use it .Thank you and make more videos so will do more often different use.I like you very much.
This looks delicious!! I love perilla leaves! I will try to grow them next year. I live close to Columbia Missouri. Small world!
The timing of this video popping up in my feed is perfect. My refrigerator is full of perilla leaves and I don't have anyone to share them with (no one in my area knows what they are). Thank you for the dinner idea😊😊😊
I love how you're still using the intro from way back when. And your recipes are still so great after all these years 💚
planted a perilla last year and got an unexpected surprise of volunteer plants this year, neat to have another recipe to try
OMG I love this🤩, this kind of pancake never makes me bored, I used to make Perilla leaves with Kimchi pancake😋
Oh this takes me back to my childhood. My grandma and mom made quite often. Mom and grandma always grows kenyip. So yummy! 😋 ❤
I love the back stories of the dishes you cook.
I love the little memories you tell at the end 😍
Love your positive message and story
First flip, awesome! Second flip, girl you got some skills! Third flip, now you're just showing off!😂
This is perfect timing! The farmer's market near me has a stall where i can get these! I know what im having on Saturday!
I grow them for my wife. They spread from seeds like wildfire!
like wildfire! : )
I LOVE perilla leaves! I also plant them in my garden. This is a great recipe for a serving alternative of these lovely leaves! Thank you ☺

Thank you so much!! : )
This looks delicious!!
요리하시면서 한국 얘기 옛날 얘기 해주시는 거 넘 좋아요🥹❤❤ 담에 한국도 와주세요!!! 항상 잘 보고 있습니당 ㅎㅎ
Thank you!! This is such perfect timing. Like you said, I'm also growing them on my porch right now and I needed a way to use them up before the frost comes.
Nice flip! Looks yummy, Maangchi 😋
I looove your pancakes. I was in Seoul a few months back and bought a small box of kimchi "400g" to make a korean pankace but customs at Incheon airport did not allow me take it. I was sooooo mad and almost teared up. It is a really dump rule to prohibit such produce for no valid reason. I miss Korea and its flavors ❤
Flipping it the second and third time was just showing off LoL. Looks yummy! ❤
But she did it so perfectly the first time, she just had to see if she could do it again.
: )
The pan-fried perilla leaves snack looked delicious!😋 And the perilla leave plants in the balcony have grown so abundantly and it look really nice!👍 Thanks Maangchi for sharing your memories too, about the perilla leave too!🥰
looks good!
Wow?
I’m feeling so, amazed 😋🍽
I love Perilla leaves, but it is so hard to get it where i live, even with Asian/Japanese/Korean marts around. Can you share how to plant and care for it?

Definitely the right time for this recipe! I have so many leaves right now :) Also the red japanese one, that is also a very beautiful flower. This year the perilla grows very well, I also introduced it to my parents and relatives who like to garden, they didnt know it before.

Haha!
I always watch your video iLike it ❤😊
I think those were the flowers of the mint plant growing beside the perilla plants.
@@veganvegan-lg2il Yeah, someone else theorized that the purple flowers might have come from the bang-a (방아) plant. Either way, it's really pretty!
Very yummy and delicious recipe 💐 big like friend 👌💐🙏✔️
Oh Maangchi!! Your lilies are beautiful!! ❤

Hi Maangchi! What cooking oil do you normally use? Thanks!
I love your videos and I like you very much so nice of you❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
I lived in Columbia the same time you did. Wish I would have met you
Delicious🌹
Can you tell me what perilla leaves taste like. I love your videos so much, you are an amazing chef. Take care and love to you 💞💗💞
Texture is similar to mint, flavor is like a cross of Thai basil, mint (without the cooling taste), sesame and anise.
@@user-nm7nl5jh2j Thank you so much I really appreciate the information. ☺️ have a wonderful weekend ☺️
So, from the meals I've seen you make it seems like jang means sauce and tteok means cake of some kind? Pancake, rice cake, etc? So is this just like... sauce-based pancake? And then you add greens and vegetables?
Yummy 😋
