I think a great “tell” for a classic is how easily they can look undone…
A classic wearing a sweater and messy bun doesn’t come off as casual or cool, they usually look unkempt or even dirty; and When a classic is wearing a smoky eye and a dark lip they usually don’t look smoldering or sensual, it’s giving clown or drag. They just very easily are overtaken by color and fabrics.

I think it is necessary to know your other essences, so you can accommodate everything to your special blend and you can look fabulous even in styles that are in other essence ♡

This is very helpful! Growing up my mom always bought me very 'girly' and 'elegant' clothing that were often loose and soft-colored, and I never thought suited me. I'm 24 now, and I realised that I look my best when I wear dark and tight fitting clothing that I believe accentuates my body type. I am mixed south american/italian, and very much look mediterranean with bolder face features. Elegant clothing just makes me look very dull and lifeless.

And they thought the essence I thought I was. You explained it so well and gave great examples! I'm a classic or soft classic too and I often struggle to get my outfit juuuust right. I can't pull out randomly pieces from my closet and simply look cool and effortless. Everything has to be pre planned. The details, like fabric quality are so important. The fabric should never show noticeable signs of wear or look cheap. The look has to be harmonious from top to bottom, including the accessories. Personal color palette is very important too. It's hard to get it right, but on the days I do, I immediately notice that people notice (in a good way).

I love learning about the classic essence - I think my mom is a TR with natural & classic essences, with maybe a hint of gamine essence, and it helps me pick stuff out for her. Her favorite items of clothing really reflect that - linen fitted button-up shirts (natural texture, sometimes bright colors but often muted tones, but perfect smooth classic fit), pants that are neither too tight nor too loose, simple and classic shoe shapes and colors, generally nothing too wild. I'm the polar opposite - SN body type with likely dramatic essence, but not sure in combination with what else - ingenue/gamine/romantic, not quite sure what the combo is lol.

I've worn my hair slick back for years, I'm always drawn to jackets, a simple blouse, a simple shoe or a white trainer, I'm always carrying a simple tan leather bag cos I can't do bright colours & the most "fancy" I get would be a hoop earring, a ring on my finger & a red lip. Sounds so boring & I look at women wearing daring clothing but I just can't do it. I'm short also. Only 155 cm so I stick to simple. Blacks, tans, beige, navy, white. Simple shapes, pencil skirts, jackets, T-Shirts, blouses, a bag with no details lol. This is me & I'm happy about that. Thank you for sharing this x

If we for example think about girlgroups like Little Mix, Spice Girls or Fifth Harmony, they often had outfits that were supposed to match or make sense together, but how can they both compliment eachother and dress for their bodytypes? If you look at touring outfits, I think that is were these particular problems would accur.

Okay, okay, okay…I’ve been mulling over body types, essences, and stylings for years now, and kept trying to put myself in either theatrical romantic, or soft gimine, but just never felt like either of those fit. I avoided looking at classic, idk, I guess I felt like it would be boring to be a classic body type, but I think I finally realize that I’m definitely a classic, and I think I’m specifically a soft classic. I may have a little bit of gimine essence, and I know I have some ingénue essence because I’ve always been mistaken for being much younger than I am, and that I have a very “sweet” look about me. What finally tipped it over the edge for me is looking back at an old picture of myself as a brides maid, and everything about the dress I wore was very much classic lines, and styling. I feel like that was one time I really looked my best, and I know it’s because I was in my right lines, and I wasn’t fighting them so hard like I normally do. Thank you for your videos, and helping me to realize that just because I might be a classic, it doesn’t mean I have to look boring, I can find new ways to step up my wardrobe, AND not fight my body’s classic lines❤️

It’s certainly not symmetrical but R+C clothes somehow don’t repel me and I feel at home considering that archetype. Just… a bit more R than a lot of pics might portray it to be but with a yang influence. There was a point where i wanted to experiment with an edgier, avant garde style and people didn't receive that well lol. It was off putting on me. The layers, the stripes, the graphic band tees, the distressed vests, the overly pierced ears, etc. I thought it was just bc ppl were used to me looking more elegant and feminine but after learning about style essence and kibbe, there was actually some truth to their words lol. Top 🔝 information and video, I feel dramatic classic - 176 sm is my tall and strong shoulder and sharp, protruding chin. Or sometimes I feel better in classic or natural, but the best in dramatic outfit and with classic style.

Hey, out of curiosity. Is it likely to be a soft-gamine with engenue essence? I find I look best in soft gamine lines & I have some ethereal too! Especially eversince wearing my hair naturally wavy & having a cut that brings out my cheekbones as well as enhancing my almond-shaped eyes my ethereal has really become more noticeable ❤️

Video idea: Please do a... fashion show (?) for us... I consistently feel OVER DRESSED anytime I wear my lines. And in America's dressed down culture, I really struggle to fit in-especially in the summer heat. I seem to either be over dressed OR I wear shorts in the summer (nothing obscene, w/ a 3 to 4 inch inseam) and I feel like I'm screaming 'sex'. How do I stay cool in the summer while also dressing my lines without wearing horrid Bermuda shorts? I'm also not a huge fan of skirts because of thigh rub (I'm athletic, and 'thigh gap' is an unhealthy lie we've all been told is achieveable).

I know for sure I'm not classic essence. I'm too muscular, too soft, too sharp, too broad, too curvy. In my face people tend to notice one specific feature first and everybody sees something else. Some notice my eyes, others my lips, others my nose. I'm SN with a romantic and ingenue essence. When I tried wearing classic lines not only did I look stiff, I felt stiff. They looked okay with the romantic essence but they felt completely off in general. It's the Pamela Anderson effect: wear something very structured that is tight and you will look like you're bursting out of it. For a long time I was hoping that I'd fit in the classic category, but now I'm happy with how I look and the clothes I wear ☺
Would love more videos on natural essence please! 🥰

I really can't wear anything with huge bold pattens, quirky slogans (urgh), or otherwise quirky, "fun" clothes, either ;) Plus anything asymmetrical, frayed and undone does look really sloppy on me, as do all Natural clothes (all the oh-so-trendy athleisure - just no!). I believe I do have some Classic, though not as my dominant essence.

I am pretty sure I am a theatrical romantic with dark autumn colouring but I can’t figure out my essence. I am drawn to classic styles because I like the aesthetic behind it, but I think I could suit other essences too. I think I might have ingenue essence but I wanna look „grown up“. Help haha

I have watched so many videos trying to analyze my body type. I would have said classic, though my height throws me off. I'm 5'1". Maybe soft gamine? I have never felt good in bold prints or loud colors. I like a natural makeup look on myself. Too much and I will notice it. I like my jewelry to be dainty and feminine. I love to look feminine even when I wear jeans. I do not mind a little fraying at the bottom, but no rips. I have to feel that my hair is in place otherwise I feel something is off. Never knowing why I have been this way even in my younger years, it no doubt has to have something with my body type, which I have not figured it quite out as of yet.

this is the opposite of what i am. 😅😅
imagine, i put on a white blouse and look horrendous, but when i put on a giant raspberry-colored sweater or an acid-green cropped shirt, i look great. idk why that happens, i just look utterly ridiculous in classic and elegant clothing :/ and it's so strange to me, like is it really that hard to pull off a classic white blouse??? apparently, it is 🧐🧐🧐
i was classified as a flamboyant natural or soft dramatic, probably has something to do with that 🤔
