  • My names lee, I love collecting and repairing old Casio watches from the 80s and 90s.
On this channel I will be displaying some of the rarest casio watches ever made, most we have forgotten about. My collection consist of mostly 80s era and some in the 90s.
I will of course feature some modern day Casio if they are amazing.

I just hope Casio releases more vintage watches. Also Seiko.

I believe those buttons are made of rubber, which is notorious for becoming brittle and falling apart over time. It's also a common issue with vintage fountain pens that had rubber sacs they would just crack, and crumble. I still prefer the 80's version of the watch though, they have a flatter appearance that I like whereas, the modern version 'pops' in appearance. However, I do like the black plastic case version best, even the modern version looks nice. I think it would be cool if they made a brushed stainless steel case version, as I'm not a fan of the shiny chrome plating that will chip off with wear.

Hopefully, someone will be able to 3D print replacement keypads at some point. Also, I thought that it was possible to repair/refill LCD panels, although it's a fiddly process.

👍👍 I have the CA-500WE-1A and changed the bracelet with the one from one of my two A1100D-1! It got closer to the CA-505. The bracelet of the A1100 is really nice, looking more like the 70s Casio bracelets.

Correcting myself. Sorry! The strap I put on my CA500WA-1A is not the one from A1100D! It was from the current World Time A500WA-1. 18mm lug. I put a A1100 strap on my real vintage Casio 60QS-20, which is a 20mm strap. Messed things up! 👍

If Casio made that DBX-100 again(with a better screen & pad of course) I'd buy 100 of them!!! :P :D ;) I just LOVE the Dot matrix screen on it :P I doubt they will make it again tho :( :( :(

if they ever brought it out it needs to be identical, not some cheap rubbish

A fact that module inside DBX100 is still absolutely functional is crazy, that's for every respect no matter what. My Casio AL180 module 668 looks like a rat rod (ok, it's not so dramatic) but I really like it, and it's 100% functional even though it's from 1987.
speaking about that screen bleeding, there's a link for you, that's a CZcams video, if that can help.

Nice watches but is so annoying you can't normally use them. I am still using the DBC 62, but not with the original strap, the keypad is still in good condition, some scratches on the case..I also like the old models, but I want to use them.

i do wear some. i dont want to risk damaging or knowing them. i admire them all everyday. enjoyment is not about just wearing them, its knowing i have my favourites watches, to admire everyday

@@Oldcasiocollector Yes I know, you are a collector, literally you have the casio museum at home. Maybe in the future when your collection gets bigger you consider opening to visitors. In my town there is a guy who collect old computers, the first ones from Apple, and others. Video game consoles and more. In weekends he is exposing the collection for visitors. Now what about me? I also have a "collection" of almost 50 watches, casio, citizen, orient, omega. But I don't have the original boxes and manuals for all of them. You are on the master collector level. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

@@Oldcasiocollector I'm much the same way. I have a few I wear daily but my nice vintage and newer limited/special edition watches (I've got a few anniversary G Shocks and the like) I keep nice and just look at them. I don't feel like I'm missing out by keeping them in a box and not wearing them. It might be weird to some people but everyone collects things differently.

but very well made, you have to remember casio had to estiblish themselves as the pioneer, so quality had to be top notch
