I remember when they came in the shops.........I loved them....there is where my fetisch for watches started. And still I get a kick out of these video's. Stil love those great digital old watches. I was THE BIG man at school when I had my calculator watch. Man was I cool 😄😄. Those days in the 80's were the best. Did we have a nice time those days............I think to know the 80's we where very lucky.

i think that hair pulling is a deal breaker for me. even if it happens once, it means to me it will probably happen again. do you think its easy on this one to change the strap to a different one, for example for a strap that f-105 has?

Their both nice watches i do like the blue of the new one however the made in Japan statement on the back is undeniably an attraction for me, Casio are making a lot more watches of the older style in reissued models which i am grateful for because prices of originals are out of my budget so would probably go for the newer one based on that,i have the a171 which is so similar to the old casiotron models which i couldn't afford even the trn50 is way out of my price range $899 in NZ or there about,but i got the a171 for $109. I believe this is the 1989 release. My DBC-600 was released in 1985. I know because I received it in middle school 1985. (still have it today, runs perfectly)

Casio made at least 10 different models with the 103 module. AA-81, AA-83, AA-84, AA-85, AA-86, AA-91, AA-92, A201, A202 and A203 are the ones I know of. I have an A201 identical to yours. It's in very good condition on the outside, hardly a visible scratch on the case and crystal, and original bracelet. It works, including the light, but unfortunately it's got significant LDC bleed, just as you explained. (The leftmost digit is completely covered by the ink blob.) I have not found a fix for this, so I guess the only thing I can do is look for another one with a good LCD, which is hard to find. At least for a reasonable price. The A201 was actually used in another movie, the 1982 movie 48 Hours. Nick Nolte wore it. The watch is very visible on the movie posters, and at least in a few scenes in the movie. Obvious product placement, witch Casio did a lot of back then. I guess it paid off, considering how famous the brand is today. 😃

It’s so annoying that I can clearly hear that 40 year old alarm, but the 5 alarms on my premium GShock GW5000 U are essentially silent. 5 damn alarms and I can’t hear one of them😡

I have a prw35 besides some others which is a new casio abc watch. It has a circular lcd around the inner side of the bezel and it only does the directional display of the digital compass. It is such a wasted potential that they didn't use it for example a seconds counter in watch mode, or in stopwatch mode. There are no animation effect like this, sadly😢

I have one of these, which I gave to my father many years ago, and have now inherited it. Just put in new batteries, but can't seem to make it work right - light comes on, and if I press the 'AC' button inside random stuff comes up on the display, which pressing the 'Mode' button seems to change, but it doesn't work right. Any suggestions on making it right would be most appreciated.

I had a question and if you don't know maybe you can point me in the right direction. I am looking for a Casio watch, with a step counter, calorie tracker, solar powered, and preferably cost under 100 dollars. Does Casio make such a watch? Thank you for your time!

Excellent watch rebuilding :D👍 I found it impossible to get the back off my A-201 :-/ In the end(after a few days trying & i even bought some tools to) I gave up :D & just went to my local Market which has a cool watch shop in it & they did it in a second :D I wish all watches had the screws on the back(like the second watch), oh well. Cool videos as always 😎

I wish I had that many vintage casio as well lol. Love the AE-20W. I have one vintage so far, an A254 module 248 from 1984. I hope I could find some more by perhaps going to thrift stores, flea markets etc...

That's some grade 1 nonsense just there. I didn't even manage to watch two minutes of the video. Casio make all sizes of watches already from the f91w up to the Royale and Casioaks and let's not forget g-shocks. Most men don't align their masculinity with the size of their watch. I have an 8 inch (20cm) wrist and I'm literally wearing an a168. Idris Elba wears a selection of the small Casios and they look great on him as they do any man.
