    Perhaps somewhat related, I have a feeling that Ferrari's secret agreement with the FIA after the 2019 season meant they were forced to run their engines below what they were capable of. The 2019 engine was illegal mainly due to fuel flow and some oil burning, and I feel that removal of those wouldn't have had such a drastically negative impact on Ferrari's performance in 2020. So perhaps the FIA mandated that Ferrari power units had to run in a low performance engine map or something the entire season.

      You're onto something. Mika Salo revealed that Ferrari had to use less fuel than the maximum allowed 100 kg / h for the entire F1 season in 2020, which was a penalty for using too much fuel for most of 2019 when they managed to fool the FIA. Look it up.

    I’ve watched the official F1 2007 review DVD and the end of the interviews with Lewis and Fernando. Both didn’t even look that disappointed, more so Lewis missing on being first ever rookie world champion. You saw in 2008 with massa how devastated he was losing championship by 1 pt.
    I think if it was rigged or not, it was sporting right that Kimi won that season with mclaren Spygate scandal, would’ve made sport look bad if a team stealing another teams data used it to their advantage and win championship.
    Well done Kimi, plus from 03 and 05 bad luck, he got his title in the end.

For me, it was just down to bad luck honestly. • @phoenix1279
      @phoenix1279 Před 2 lety +53

      @@eggselent9814 That's a complete lie. No team would favour a rookie over the reigning world champion.
      Alonso's preferential treatment was clear when Hamilton was told to hold position at Monaco or when Ron Dennis admitted that he favoured Alonso over Hamilton in Australia in the pits which allowed Alonso to jump Hamilton. At Monaco, Ron Dennis basically admitted that he decided who was going to win before the race even started and that's after giving Hamilton 5 laps more fuel than Alonso in qualifying only to then take Hamilton off his pre arranged strategy switching him from a one stopper to a two stopper and he ordered Hamilton not to fight Alonso for the win. After this race, FIA investigated McLaren for the use of team orders in the era when team orders were banned and Dennis realised that the best course of action was to give Hamilton equal status to Alonso from Canada onwards. Alonso's #1 status was made even more obvious at the Barcelona test where he asked Dennis not to include Hamilton and Dennis granted his wishes, which is pretty shocking when you really think about it. That's not mentioning how, before the season even started, every crew member wanted to work with Alonso, not Hamilton, for the obvious reason that Alonso was the proven reigning world champion who had just dethroned Schumacher and was seen as their best chance for success. None of them wanted to work with Hamilton because it was regarded as being assigned the #2 car and there was political infighting behind the scenes with some team personnel even going against protocol by asking senior members of staff to make sure they worked on Alonso's car.
      Alonso equaling Lewis is hugely misleading. He basically had zero bad luck in 2007, while Hamilton had a puncture in Turkey which gifted the podium to Alonso, China, Brazil where he had gearbox issues and of course in Australia.
      Alonso also made several mistakes in 2007 which cost him the title. So you are saying Alonso's terrible start in Bahrain, him bottling it at the start against Massa at Spain or him going off the road multiple times in Canada, him under performing in France, and crashing in Fuji was the team's fault? That is SUCH A pathetic excuse.
