sorry
Also remember in 2014 how whenever a car crashed hard the race engineer would tell the driver to jump to the ground and not touch the car and ground at the same time to avoid being electrocuted. The fact that this was a continuous thing throughout the season helps make this theory more believable
They still do this when there's a fault in the electrical system
And a few years ago, I remember Ricciardo retired his car but it took longer than usual to remove it because of the risk the marshalls had to be eletrocuted

Bruh, imagine being a McLaren staff member and hearing him wake up speaking Italian thinking he's at Ferrari, I would get chills instantly, that for sure is not normal
I can also imagine that Alonso had a small dropout that day, which no one could really explain. It didn't even really have to be the car itself. That would also explain why neither the team nor Alonso himself wanted to talk about it. Something similar once existed in my family. A relative drove his car at slow speed over a traffic island and did not respond to his wife's calls. Otherwise, everything was fine with him and nothing comparable ever happened again. He could not remember anything, although there was no accident with impact. As a consequence, he was not allowed to drive a car for a year, until he was allowed to do so again by the doctors. But a cause was never found. Something like that would be really tragic for an F1 driver, of course. Just a theory, but maybe something similar happened to Alonso at that time.
I remember once i was in my teen years at some local sporting club with my friends we were just hanging around, just a normal day. i remember at some point i "woke up" standing in the middle of a narrow hallway blocking the passage with 4 people behind me screaming out my name so i can move or get out the way. I have no idea how long i was standing there, how did i get there or why did i occur this weird mental lockup.
it never happened to me again, but i'll never forget it.
@@256k_ I had something similar happen once in my childhood where I was riding my bicycle, and all of a sudden I "woke up" a long ways away from the last place I could remember riding by. Didn't have a clue how I got there. Interesting to hear other people have had these weird instances also...
@@256k_ dude, this is crazy. I have never experienced something similar. Do you know what causes this?
@@256k_ hi 256k.
I found myself at the traffic lights at the end of the M1 in Hendon. Last thing I remember I was near Hemel Hempstead - Jct 9 or thereabouts. Fortunately, there was not a mark on my car, and I had stopped at the red lights. I was able to quickly realise where I was because I had worked in the area, and was actually based in Hendon, about 30 years before! (Nothing had changed particularly.) I had been aiming for the M25 on my way to the M4, though. I'd only done about ⅓ of the 300+ miles I needed to do that day. I kept stopping for rests and drinking so much coffee that I was forced to take loo breaks at each service station.
Many drivers have had "moments" where they couldn't tell you how they got somewhere, especially on the drive to or from somewhere like work, where you know every inch of the journey. It's surprising that more accidents _don't_ happen! I wonder if Alonso had a moment like that. How many laps of that track has he driven? It wasn't his fault, even if he did "blank out"; that car would probably have crashed anyway.
‘He woke up speaking Italian and thought he still drove for Ferrari.’ Honda: I cannot speak, if I speak I will be in trouble.
There is another version of the story where he woke up saying he raced karts
@@RS-jq4oc Honda: I cannot speak, If I speak I will be in trouble
I'm a huge Alonso fan. I remember when this first happened. There were reports of an electrical shock to Fernando. I read there was an issue with the KERS. Apparently, when the car came to rest after the accident, the track workers had to stand back from the car for about 20 minutes so the energy from the KERS would have disapated.
My Dad is a mechanical engineer. I asked him if this was possible. He said it was possible but doubtful; however, he was very surprised that Fernando was in the hospital for 3 days. At that point, my Dad agreed that there could be an issue with the KERS.
I'm still fan of KERS conspiracy. And will aways be a fan of Fernando.
they didn't have kers back then, probably an ERS issue

I was under the impression Alonso always disliked McLaren as a team, before he joined.
After he joined I suspect he hated it even more almost ruining his career with a crappy car for 5 seasons and counting
Well he drove for them in 2007 and we all know how his time there was. So yeah, he hated them with a pretty good reasoning
Alonso just probably wanted to achieve atleast some more glory with the reasonably hyped McLaren-Honda pairup
That only makes him look more stupid... Why go back to a team you dislike, and why let it go so far... (But we all know nobody at the time wanted him, for good reasons) Still a hell of a driver though.

Thanks to everyone who suggested perspective, just started watching and I’m already gripped lol 😂
This is definitely one of the more odder crashes and there’s no question loads of conspiracy theories have been said about this one. Weird especially for a driver of Alonso’s caliber
Maybe he was in the time machine but it's Honda version. That's why he was going around the speed of the DeLorean time machine (in Back to the future). And came back with the El plan and knowing Max gonna win WC 2021.
@It'stheVJ No f1 for 3m is too long, I'm losing sanity. 😂
"600 Watt hit" thats like saying: i was in a car accident and i took a 600KG collision
I agree that Fernando Alonso's years with F1 and other motorsports would be an outstanding book to right and read.
Interviews with Ron Dennis would be golden, he's got so much to say regarding Bernie, Mosley, Jordan.... Anyone in the paddock really....
Just to clarify, electrocution means death in 100% of circumstances as it means to be shocked to death by electricity. Therefore Alonso was shocked as he didn't die.
it quite literally does not the definition is "the injury or killing of someone by electric shock"
@@blainesthename9349 that's a misnomer. In electrical engineering, at university, it was taught to me by a professor, with a PhD in electrical engineering, that electrocution is a common misnomer applied in the instance of being shocked - that electrocution results in death, while remaining alive is being shocked. The distinction between the two events, being of either alive or dead. That's also how it's used in the medical field as well. When they fill out injuries, they don't say that someone was electrocuted. That's what a coroner says. Lol.
It’s an oversimplified yt video, don’t deep it.
It's the word "execution" with "electro-" slapped on the front of it to tell you that the killing was done by electricity.

Some say Alonso refused to drive that bomb of a car and they came up with this whole debauchery. 2015 Australian GP was also quite an unusual event, 5 cars didn't even started plus Sauber had that contract problem
"fernando took a 600 watt hit" - spoken like a true person who doesn't understand the fundamentals of electricity and the manipulation thereof
Yeah, I too am an electrician and I giggled upon hearing that. We can be hit by 600W worth of 'power' and be absolutely fine but when you start to play around with the Amps within that formula you could be fried. Also a serious buildup of electrostatic could also knock you out.
it didn't bother you that they're using "electrocuted" when Alonso didn't die from the shock?
@@KumoGoesFast no not really. Electrocution isn't persé a lethal thing. Same as you can get shot but not die.
Pick Your battles.
@@Roguescienceguy Im sure you wont believe a random youtube comment, so just google the differences between electrocution and electric shock and youll find multiple wrongful death lawyers and scientists clearly defining the difference between the two. it absolutely does mean that someone passed because of the electric shock.
I think nobody believes it was just a simple crash…
Because it clearly wasn't
Because a simple crash wouldn't of hospitalised him for 3 days
This is where he got El Plan from
2:15 was terrifying 😭
I'd definitely buy a Fernando Alonso tell all book/biography book.
He already has a prime video documentary series like the drive to survive one but is only available in Spain.
@@hugofernandez3845 I was able to see season 1 of it. There is a documentary of his last race for Ferrari. That one was better. Alonso is very candid in that one and you can see part of the frustrations he dealt with there. Its a wonderful watch and I think that is who Fernando is behind the scenes. At one point he places a tshirt on his table at the motorhome and the table breaks. Looks up at the camera and without missing a single beat says "Ferrari".
Just to be clear: we know nothing about the care Alo received after that incident, so we can only speculate. Personally, I think he just had some sort of "medical" episode, such as an absence (type of epilyepsy) or something, and nobody wanted to reveal it afterwards to avoid Alo's fury. Speaking as a fella working in healthcare, electric shocks yo the degree of uncounsciousness would likely bar him from the car for weeks. They also mostly leave permanent consequenses: tremors aren't unusual among shocked patients.
Medical episode would surely require him to be banned from f1 right under the danger of it repeating?
I doubt Alonso has some type of epilepsy. He wouldn't be driving in F1 if he had. It doesn't make sense at all. Drivers retire on lesser issues. Epilepsy is a serious issue esp if your're driving that speeds.
This is one of the few conspiracy theories I legitimately believe.

Loving these stories! Keep the conspiracy theories coming guys!
I really want more conspiracy theory videos like these, there’s a lot of unsolved things in F1
This series is awsome. Are there any other videos in this series. Please create more. Also somebody that I know has family that works in F1 (no idea what they do). The running theory by everybody in the pod dock was that he was electrocuted.
He can't have been, he survived. Electrocuted comes from electric/electricity & execution. If someone doesn't die from it, then it's simply an electric shock
While I do agree with you (mostly), merriam-webster now defines electrocution 'to kill OR severely injure by electric shock'
Could be momentary shock? And I'm sure like there is no way anyone could have measured it.
Dude btw ngl, often times I gave faced slight shocks from my laptop, so I'm sure such a thing could have happened in an F1 car as well.
Could be something due to the winds who knods mayeb something due to static electricity? or due to the battery it's possible lol
You don't necesseraly need to die from electrocution i guess? or it WAS an electric shock but a heavy one which can actually make the muscles in your body (including the heart) have a little break-out...
If I was at a publishing house I'd have a contract for Fernando's memoirs already inked and sitting in my top desk drawer.
Underneath the one for Lewis.
@@unthenner5519 nah. Only the media actually likes him. It would be like Hillary's last book. The only people who bought it work for news networks. Between her up front payment and the costs of actually printing the publishing house *lost* money.
I’m a doctor and I can verify that what the German and Spanish newspapers reported and what Barbazza said does collaborate somewhat with symptoms presented by electric shock victims. It’s possible that Fernando would’ve experienced temporary memory loss and issues with concentration, attention span, and focus. These are signs that the patient has suffered an electric shock acquired brain injury (ABI). A mild to moderate ABI would’ve required several days in hospital and a few weeks recovery. I’m not completely sure what Barbazza means by “temporary obstruction of the veins”, but venous obstruction can occur following something that stops your blood flowing normally, which might have happened if the electric shock effected Fernando’s heart. So I’d say it’s very possible he was electrocuted, if we are to believe the bits of info from the press and Barbazza.
Alonso hope your keeping a diary, please write that book!
An Alonso book? I'd buy that.
"the impact was at slow speed, at just 150 Km/h"
My dad's honda barely gets to 100 Km/h
I've heard about the crash but i've NEVER heard about the conspiracy, was interesting to listen to
Alonso didn’t attack Honda, he was just retaliating!
If my engine broke 17 races out of 20 and was a donkey, I'd be pissed too.
"Is that Glock!!?" In the intro had me dying
funnily enough, a brazilian F1-related channel made a video on this incident just a few days ago...
that proves how "shocking" this incident was... that is if you catch my drift ;)
Yes I catch your drift velocity of those ions coursing through Fernando.
Maybe this is why Alonso hated Honda so much.
I hate to be that guy, but electrocution is being shocked to death (electric and execution). He got a hard shock, otherwise he'd be dead. Sorry to be a stickler for it, but it's a big pet peeve.

@WTF1, Alonso is actually writing a book that he put on pause when he returned to F1. He also said that he could not finish/publish it while he was still in F1 because of some of the information that will be in it.
Edit: Ok, he didn't say it exactly as I remembered, but I guess you can interpret it like I did :D There's an article about it on planetf1
this is some good off season content, instead of the endless regulation videos.
he would unveil a lot... but if you pay attention he allready has..
what happened in that crash has become a word in the streets, we know it had to do with the electricity but has never been confirmed yet all mention it except McLaren
That shock was more powerful than the power that Honda PU made...
I was once electrocuted by my spark plug racing my go kart. Spark plug came out of the engine tapped me on the shoulder zapped the chassis I was full zapping at that point and jumped out doing roughly 70 kph. Kart went into the wall I was fine and walked away
The 1977 Kyalami crash, we might not know everything about it. Would be interesting to have a look at it in a video
Electrocution is a portmanteau of electric and execution, meaning to be killed by electricity. If you don't die from the electrical discharge, it's called a shock. Therefore Alonso is obviously is still alive so he clearly wasn't electrocuted.
I love this conspiracy theories series
I believe that, it was a low speed crash, with small damage in the car, and mclaren said it was 40g impact, that is a like sochi 2015 with sainz, and in that preseason honda wasnt performing as bad as the season started, so could be possible that the engine had mistakes and for that the poor perfomance specially in the electric side. If was this theory or not, it obvius that the official statement is not true. Sorry for my english but it is not my language
I thought this was a Perspective video until I heard Matt's quite distinctive voice.
I'm almost sure Alonso will return to this topic somewhere in the future.

when someone gets electrocuted, that means the shock they received killed them. Alonso was shocked, not electrocuted.

Conspiracy theory of pit crew switch between Nico and Hamilton
I believe this one. Lewis let his buddy, Justin Bieber, drink from bottle of champagne before going over and spraying his team down with champagne . My Dad and I were watching this race and I made the comment that Lewis is going to live to regret doing that. His team comes before Bieber. I’m guessing non of this was spoke about during his Beyond The Grid podcast. I doubt he was electrocuted, nor did I see any articles saying that back then. I saw the rumours that he lost his memory, I highly doubt that either. If anything unusual had happened, he would’ve said so. We all know Fernando, he’s the opposite to Kimi, he always clarifies his feelings and tells it how it is
