Hooray! It's Talent Round-up Day! This third season segment features Mouseketeer Linda Hughes in three different solo dance numbers: tap, ballet, and baton twirling.
god, the ballet segment was pretty hard to stomach. Nice to see good pure twirling though. Loved the part where she bounces it off the floor- more control than I thought she'd have!
AYYYYYY-MEN. This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Disney Channel, and today the channel just STINKS. I believe that many of the child actors on these shows have as much charisma as a malfunctioning PARKING METER.
I seem to recall an act named The Thompsons (1959) who did an excellent version of the song "Steel Guitar Rag" on "Talent Roundup Day"...and it's not on any recording. Can you find it?
My great niece has been taught ballet and can she play the drums. I also have a Great nephew, who is an excellent Ice Hockey player. I’m proud of both of them.
Do you have the Talent Roundup Day for (I believe) January 1958? The Thompson Brothers did "Steel Guitar Rag". As Disney hasn't shown these in years,I'd think they are "fair use". The DVD's they had offered for sale didn't include these episodes.
well she is not half bad but her form on the ballet is way off you are right, she is not over her boxes, and her movements are abrupt and on top of that, she is lacking posture on some parts.
this is my grandma!!!! :)
Abby Gillmore toe shoe ballet is harder than a lot of people realize. I did ballet for 35 years & tap for 54 years.
Bravo to your Grandma!!
Linda Hughes is the real deal talent wise
I wish today's artists were just as charming.
Aaaw...that wooden shoe number was SO cute!!!
This show taught our generation so many positive things. The children on this show were just So talented.
Look for BYE BYE BIRDIE 50 year reunion at John Burroughs High School. Linda starred in that production.
Linda seems the most talented in singing & dancing.
I’m watching the shows my Mom grew up on.

as a child I watched all starry-eyed, was a shock to see her ballet technique lacking as an adult!
Why was this little girl not on the Red Team and roll call?
she wasn't the right age
Talented little thing, isn't she? lol
gbrdaisy I got out my toe shoes & tap shoes whenever the Mickey Mouse Club was on. I would dance with the Mousekateers.
Tune kinda reminds me of "Cottleston pie"
It's too bad after The MMC ended, Linda Hughes basically fell off the face of the earth
Great twirling! She must have been a competitive twirler judging by her routine. Good speed and variation!

That was cute...her intentional "trip".

She died now ❤❤❤❤❤
I am wondering if she is the same Linda Hughes who became the Golden Girl at Purdue. She held the position from 1973 - 1976.

Does she have a twin?
And she’s not Little
I just love Linda's dances, but maybe the next time she does the Dutch one, she should wear some real Dutch clothes.
I wonder if Annette and Cheryl are really playing those saxes, and if Doreen is really playing that clarinet...not!
IDLERACER,
No one was playing anything. Sorry
