Great video dude! Would you recommend the loctite PL for the two four inch seams between the trunk filler panel and the quarter panels on a Chevelle?

I'm looking for my tube of SEM I swear I bought but if I can't find it I'll run to the hardware

The Loctite stuff will work great in seams that are not on an exterior (finished) surface. For anything that needs to be pretty, I'd use the SEM. The reason is that it sets up harder, faster. Meaning if the sealer gets bumped, its less likely to damage the paint. That said, I believe the loctite would work fine in those two seams between the window and the trunk. Those are not likely to get bumped by anything. Plus, those seams should be concave, or slightly u shaped in the middle, meaning they are well protected. I would definitely use Loctite under the deck lid, around the rain gutter seams.

this comparison is all well and good but how about a test of time after everything is cured, painted and used a few months down the road. Once you drive it , it will flex and show the actual longevity of the product. Im resto-modding a 1951 chevy 3100, a driver, not for show. ive been hitting these youtubes and builder pages about everything for a couple years. more than one guy has used liquid nails urethane outdoor formula and claims hes a collision shop guy . I bought a few tubes to try. I only plan on using it in places where sealing a seam is important but more than likely never going to be seen. it claims to be paintable, weather resistant and bonds to all sorts of materials. what could go wrong, right ?

I also tested liquid nails (not in the video). I applied a 3/8" bead and let it weather since spring 2022. The outside of the bead skinned up very hard and eventually cracked. The inside shrank away from the skin. I would NOT recommend using liquid nails as a seam sealer.
