Great vid Matt. I will sometimes mix up some UR50 reducer with the brush-able sealer. it helps too if it's a bit older sealer.
This 2part blue looks like the perfect solution to apply to my roof rain gutters on my 08 All Terrain Blue H2
great video thanks for the skills
Love you guys Eastwood Rocks!
I would guess this can be applied after rust convertor or epoxy? Both get painted for effect or “UV” protection.
I notice many comment questions do not get answered. Not a priority? Thanks!
Thanks for the video
Can it be applied over finish paint such as in a roof trim molding area
Do you need to key the hardened sealer before painting?
Need to seam seal bedside seams on a 1965 ford tkt before painting
Is the 2k primer a direct to metal primer or does it need primer applied to the seam
Does it seem sealer work good under the self etching Eastwood primer?
should it be applied before painting or after
Donde puedo conseguir esa marca de esos productos en EUA
How about the Weld through primer- compatible?
Does this dry hard enough so you can sand it.
They need to fix the video - the audio and video are out-of-syn. Not on my end, either... other videos on YT do not do this - and this is NOT the first from eastwood that has this issue.
Cool
I am using the brush on seam sealer and it dries way to quick for me to finish the area. Is there a way to thin this sealer? Or slow the drying process?
I use a small bit of acetone mixed into it in a separate container
How would you seam seal a raised flange such as those on a mini? Thanks
what I have done in the past on mine is make sure the seams are painted and protected as much as possible and then the finishing trim that goes over the seam I fill up with something like tiger seal or a seam sealer before fitting. it does make it impossible to remove/refit but I find this works really well and keeps the water out.

Patching floor pans Would this stuff hang on upside down want to put on underside before spraying on bedliner coating?
What did you end up doing
@@thisguy2720 used the stuff in the can then sprayed with undercoat
Just got my can of brushable seam sealer and the first warning says do not smoke, all I can think of is why would you smoke this and got a little chuckle out of it
I would assume smoking leaves a film of nicotine on surfaces. Which would keep certain formulas from sticking well.
Well there goes my weekend plans 😂😂
According to “Stout Customs”, the Salem smokes will cause fisheyes. But not Marlboro Reds.
Not sure about “Redman” chew but definitely not in the paint booth would be my guess.
Its all fun until someone puts and eye out or has spots on a lung X-Ray!
My X-Ray has 13 spots, doc says don’t worry until I have 30 or more total in both. I feel good but instead of brown, I spit brown when bushing teeth.
Doing a 66 Mustang on a rotisserie. Car has been blasted. How many cans of brush able will I need for the underneath, trunk, engine compartment , etc? Thanks
give our tech team a call and they can help you figure out the perfect amount 800 343 9353
Do i put on primer before this or just put it on bare metal?
I prefer to put a primer or rust encapsulator before putting this stuff. He mentioned it in this video.
I have a peterbilt 389 and have water coming in on bottom of the windshield where it meets the hood.
There's a gasket between there.
What seam sealer would you recommend for painted vehicles?
I don't want to sand and repaint.
My truck is legendary black.
It sound's like there's a failure between the gasket and the surface it's sitting on. Our guess is theres corrosion in there and that's what's causing the leak. To really fix the problem you'd need to pop out the windshield and clean that up.
You could try the high solids seam sealer: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-seam-sealer-cartridge.html but it will only be a band-aid and the issue will probably come back.
It Pays if you wet your finger when you smooth the seal.
Do you apply sealer between metal before welding? Restoring a 68' el Camino and seems like there was sealer in between the pieces of welded metal.
You could use Eastwood Self Etching Weld Thru Primer: www.eastwood.com/ew-self-etching-weld-thru-primer-16-oz-aero.html
Ok. What's the best product to put over heavy rusted metal sandblasted clean to protect and prevent rust?
You apply 2k panel bonding in between and weld it before it cures
On sand blasted areas you can put 1 breeze coat of metal etching primer or dtm epoxy primer. Usually has metal etching agents
Can you use in plastic and fiberglass?
Plastic & fibreglass don’t rust!
Your website states the Eastwood 2K Self Leveling Seam Sealer is "out of stock". Has it been discontinued?
The Eastwood 2K Self-Leveling Seam Sealer should be back in stock before the end of February, 2019.
@@eastwoodco Oh okay, thanks for your reply.
Pre-paint prep = acetone
I can see dust from sanding! A educational video you should do right. No PRE before seam sealer!
Can these products be sanded smooth after cured?
These are not "sandable seam sealers" they remains flexible and are not easily sanded.
Is it just me or is the sound track WAY off from the video? Really good quality video but damned hard to watch.
Must be something wrong on your end. It’s absolutely perfect for me.
Why use such a huge bead and waste so much of it?
do you guys not spray etching primer before apply the seam sealer ?
I was thinking the same thing... Should I use self etching or does it matter?
etching primer is technology from the 70’s. also, the etching acid may cause compatibility issues for coatings. Stick with 2K if you can
Why dont you just bondo the seam as long as you do good prep it should last decades
Umm......
It would seam to me :) .. it's MUCh more important t seal the seams on the BOTTOM, where they are actually exposed to water. Why is it nobody does this??
sound out of synch -
Looks too nice , they never did that in the assembly plants .. they gooped that stuff out and sloppy . It didn’t take 1/2 hour to do a 15 inch section. It took seconds to do an entire firewall as it’s going down the line .
And how many of those cars are rust free now?.........
if people don't know about the pressure on the gun they should stay far way from body work !!!
Eastwood why do you say ask us questions to not answer anyone’s questions???
Wait you probably won’t answer this either. Douh.
