Dang, I watched this after my cab corner looks like a mogul hill at a ski resort! Glad I still have the other side to do.
🥳
That’s mighty purty! I’m gonna do the expedited version of that on the header panel of the ‘69 pace car where some monkey heads piled a buncha bondo on a sacka walnuts. They got it within a half inch, but I’ll get it to a sixteenth 😁😁
I know you'll do a great job ! thanks for supporting the channel !
@@guzzifabrication3448I don’t mind saying you do a more meticulous job than I do, but I don’t do “restorations”. If someone comes looking for one, I’ll send them to you😉😉
You Sir, have just AB-SO-BLOODY-LUTELY astounded the socks off me!! I would dearly love to shake your hand!!
In less than 15 minutes, you have taught me and countless others, how to do a double layered rust repair that IS a MUCH better finish, than most so called “professionals”.
You simultaneously inspired a wide-reaching “Can Do” philosophy, of new found confidence to an army of men who genuinely want to try their hand at it, but would otherwise not be able to overcome the mental hurdle of just where and how to start.
Down Under in Australia 🇦🇺 we call it “Giving it a red hot crack at it” (Doing your level best)
The truth is, we stand a far better chance of success at anything, when an understanding, compassionate person such as yourself happily, and encouragingly “demystifies” tasks like this.
You choose to bless everyone by sharing easy, practical, common sense techniques, borne out years of experience.
THANK YOU, and God Bless You Bloke

That's a very generous comment , THANK YOU ! that's what this channel is about showing people how to work on their own projects and the encouragment to do so !

Linoleum knife the old timers used them. Great job thanks for the info.👍
Thanks ! I don't remeber where I got it..... I love that thing !
I have been using mine for years. A thin, putty knife corner can work, too.
@@monadking2761 Yeah I love that tool !
This was great. I have been an auto mechanic for 45 years from farm equipment to race cars and every thing in between. I certainly don't want to do auto body repair for others, but would like to for myself. I have a 71 Nova that I have owned for 25 years. It looked decent for 20 of them, but now needs to be redone. I subscribed. Thanks
Novas are cool, thanks for the sub !
My 1955 Nomad “project car” gets delivered tomorrow. I know the bottoms of the front fender are rusty and probably will need this kind of repair. Nice video!
1955 Nomad, nice !
I have had 55 Nomad since 1974, and I'm building another 55 Nomad from a 2 door 210 with a California frame. I'm redoing all the metal from the A piller back. I'm hand forming a lot of metal by hand and know every square inch of that car.
Absolutely great video. I put this in my saved file because I'll be doing work on the front fenders of my "63" Falcon soon. 👍👍🙂
I know you are going to do a great job ! Happy New Year !
@@guzzifabrication3448Thanks. I'm sure gonna try. 👍

Thank you Mr. Brecht, Glad to pass on some of the things that I know. Hope you can use them someday on your project have a great new year
Awesome result. Will try this on my 55 210 when weather permits. If it doesn’t work well for me, I can resort to body fill. Appreciate you showing the details on how to do it correctly. Excellent technique.
Thank you Sir ! take your time and constantly adjust the metal and control the heat.

Awesome work. Nice to see it can be done without hammer welding out hammering on the bead when you don’t have access to the back of the panel.
Thank you Sir !
Thank you for sharing your information, I have learned where I went wrong on welding and patching sheet metal. Looking forward to my Volkswagen projects I have to do.

Great demonstration! Thank you!!!
Thank you Sir !
I don't have, or need, a MIG welder. But I'm gonna go buy one just because this video amazed me!
That's awesome !!!!
Really informative yet concise - Wow!
Answered ALL my questions. THANKS!
Thank you Sir !
Looked good. I usually add a couple drain holes at the bottom because it obviously had dirt and moisture staying there to cause rust. Might as well make a drain hole so it can be washed out easier.
Thanks for the info ! and the comment.
@@guzzifabrication3448 your welcome. Nice work. I just like drain holes to get moisture out and there was never enough. Restoring a 68 cougar at this time myself.
@@richardnott9587 Cougars are really cool !
Truly good work, thanks for sharing your technique. I like it, but more importantly I learned.

Man you make this look so easy, awesome skill set. Thank you for great videos. I have two ‘64 Impalas so this is relevant to my interests.
2 Impalas, nice !
Great video, thank you very much. I liked the steps of tacking and then cutting for an equal gap. and great tip on that hook knife to lift the plate.
Thanks ! yes that tool is very handy.
banana knife .... awesome job !! you are the man !
Thanks for the comment and the compliment. I'm just trying to pass on good solid metaworking advice for the guys working on their projects at home.
Instant subscribe wow I feel incredibly empowered like all gear-heads I’ve been thinking about these rust holes for my whole life and never tackled one now I am empowered like 100 hundred thousand others. I saw a Ton of other videos on this topic and yours is the most useful 1/32 wheels no heat ever straight lines always sealing Inside versus outside, incredibly liberating. Major golf clappage.
That's awesome ! I'm glad you can use the information. Follow the steps and you will ba able to produce the same results
@@guzzifabrication3448 I was very very impressed by one other time saving tool. It was a welding heat, eliminator tool that another welding channel highlighted it conducts 90% of the heat away so you can tack and then weld everything at 2 or 3 times speed or something like that. it was iron maybe and it also might have had some kind ice cream scoop chemical inside of it.
@@MrXerxes415 I'll have to research that one, Thanks !
Great video my friend.
Thank you Sir !
Whatta Pleasure to watch 👀👀👍🏻❤❤❤
That's an awesome comment ! thank you I'm glad you liked it, I hope it can help you !

I’m glad I found your channel. Your skills are 2nd to no one. Years ago I had the opportunity to bring a Chevelle home that spent 35 years on the road near you. It basically is going to need everything you have been doing to the full size cars on your channel.
Thanks ! you can absolutely perform great repairs on your Chevelle, if you have any questions or run into any issues, ask in the comments, I will try to get you going.
Or I just haul the car 1250 miles back to Dallas and have you do it lol.
