Which D&D character of yours has died the most?
Fun fact: I only played D&D ONCE and I got my character killed only a few hours in 👌
I have not died as of yet
Because of spells that prevent death like deathward, I have only had one character death which was by suicide, by my life domain cleric
I had a tabaxi swashbuckler die to the flesh eating bugs in tomb of annihilation however he was the only one to die so far.
Haven't died

Your barbarian is nicer than than mine; mine would conk Death on the head, because that scythe weapon of his look really sharp and shiny.
Man literally too angry to die
This is why I only play path of the zealot, also I think that’s why my dm has the confidence to literally say that my character has to die so the bbeg can be summoned, my chaotic good Barbarian accidentally became a messiah for a dark god through some bad roles lol.

I was expecting him to just get revivified but this was better.
Thank you!
As a cleric, I was waiting for Revivify too. XD
as an artificer i was also waiting for revivify.
I was waiting for that punchline too. The twist caught me off-guard.

I'm surprised that this skit didn't even touch on the various means of resurrection.... "Oh hi death! yeah... The Cleric knows Revivify, so..... yeah."

Or for the last one be like Barbarian saying to Death "Yeah you see I am high level zealot barbarian that is an aasimar, so how is your day going Deathbed?" One minute later "Well it was nice talking to you later!"

I forget what void does, but isn't it like almost completely irreversible?
@@danielknapp159 This black card spells disaster. Your soul is drawn from your body and contained in an object in a place of the GM''s choice. One or more powerful beings guard the place. While your soul is trapped in this way, your body is incapacitated. A wish spell can''t restore your soul, but the spell reveals the location of the object that holds it. You draw no more cards.

Totally spaced on Revivify haha!
I was half expecting the barbarian to pull back his hand and have and "oh yeah" kind if look. He would then pull out an hourglass with "10 min" printed on the side and he would sit and stare at it until Death spoke up about it. The barb would then reply with a "just checking on something first".
None of my character died yet, but I am 24/7 scared of my divination wizard with only 12 con dying. She is my baby. I don't want her dead.
Tbh I low-key want to make a wizard with a negative con mod one of these days
I’m planning on playing a wizard in my brother’s campaign, and I’m already scared that she’s gonna die
I have regularly played with wizard characters that have a 10-12 CON score.
The trick that has helped them survive so far, was buffing themselves before combat - with _False Life_ (upcasted if possible) and _Mage Armor._
_Blur_ and/or _Mirror Image_ also, but you can cast that once combat starts. _Longstrider_ is ok, but in most circumstances not necessary. Oh, and you just have to have _Shield_ and _Misty Step_ and _Counterspell_ prepared and save some spell slots for them.
Although this wont stop everything from dragging your character to zero hit points, it has proved to be very reliable so far for me.
Remember: _A prepared wizard is an alive wizard_ (in most circumstances). Good luck!
@@arcanecontent That sounds more sophisticated than hiding behind walls and random objects and re-rolling bad saves with the lucky feat. It also sounds like it uses more spell slots than hiding behind walls and random objects and re-rolling bad saves with the lucky feat.
It's also kind of a bit too late now. I already chose in retrospect suboptimal spells and there is little possibility for me to learn spells in the campaign (she's just too broke) and I'm on level 7 already, and some higher level spells are really important for me to get.
My AC is pretty damn good though, and having portent and lucky is quite nice. I'm just really scared that the day will come where it's like "that's 50 damage" and I'm like.... well, I guess that means I'm dead now, no death saves.

It’s so funny how the wizard greets death like if he’s been there before so much
and clearly uses fireball on doors a lot.
It’s amazing how confident this guy is in his ability to pass his saves when he ends up dead so often.
Funny story, our party didn't like the campaign, so we tpk'd a while back. But this one guy in our party rolled death saving throws seven times in one fight before he died. SEVEN TIMES.
Had a healer that had reactive channeling. Character was able to use it to bring themselves back-- eight times per day. "Hello Death my friend. It's been three minutes, and the dragon is still upset with me. I'm sure this will be the battle I get to stay with you."
A character that had to be killed NINE TIMES in order to die even when he was alone. He didn't take it so well
This is why I houserule that dropping to 0 *also* incurs one level of exhaustion. XD
No, you can't keep falling unconscious with no repercussions! Stop with the healing word whack-a-mole!
This is a good rule! I like that!

My DM also does this.
House rule: Being knocked unconscious gives a point of exhaustion. 6 downs in one fight is instant death.
I just heard of this and love it!
I`m a GM and last Sunday our lovely, adorable cleric died... because of my critical hit. We`re playing Pathfinder, and death here depends on how much damage you took, and this critical was hard enough to bring her from full to SUCH amount of negative hp that she instantly died. It happened in one round, no one was here to heal her. I was shocked. Second level, never was my plan to kill anyboby, what the... Her player was shocked, and even teared up, but she still didn`t allow me to retcon anything. "If I`m dead, so be it" she said, and I promised her to return her character. The party was devastated, immediately grabbed cleric`s body and carried her to the temple. My players are still devastated and sad. I still feel bad, though my players said many times it was not my fault.
I only hope we`ll make great story out of this.
How was the story?
@@shadowthedestroyer2241 oh wow, I never expected that someone asks.

Thank you so much for refraining from swearing. A lot of the shows I watch (looking at you CR) are so littered with them they can be hard to watch. My brain is forever grateful.
To help with the effect that this video touches on.. I implemented a Wound System in my games, where every time a player is healed from 0 hp, they receive 1 wound. 1 wound = 1 guaranteed failed death save. That way the next time they go down and get healed, it’s 2 wounds. This makes sure that players treat going down more seriously & act accordingly.
I love that you were just reading a Percy Jackson book waiting for him to return. You, sir, are a man of taste.

The editing in this is honestly really good.
The wizard greeted death like an old friend and departed from this world.
I love having a whole plane where the grim reaper (or sometimes reapers) just chills with the player because the PCs always are "special" and cannot be reaped unless the reaper(s) lose a bet with fate
For this very reason, I give my players a point of exhaustion whenever they drop to zero hit points
Man these videos are great! I’m so glad I found you on TikTok 😭 I’ve been sharing with my friends. Can’t stop smiling 💖
This reminds me of this one time, we were fighting a large group of harpies, and our storm genasi just kept dying over and over. He'd save every turn, just to get mowed down again. this continued on for about three hours. but then, because injuries were that bad, his character had to get surgery. He died again because the only one with us that knew how to do field surgery was a drunkard with a buzzsaw named Boris.
Throughout the whole video I just imagined Jester saying: “I cast spare the dying!”
I literally turned on CZcams notifications just to get notified about your videos forevermore. You’re freaking hilarious dude

And one of the campaigns I was part of we had a DM who every time we went down to zero HP the next time we went got up we gave one rank of exhaustion. Which was made the game a lot more interesting as we couldn't just run in and go Leroy Jenkins. I completely agree that failing three saving throws and dying makes it really hard to die permanently
Saddest death I ever had was when our halfling bard was forced to relive his wife’s death over and over while being mind controlled was the best role-playing I’ve ever seen cause he was screaming and crying for it to stop as he saw her die over and over and we actually stopped play for a bit because the dm got worried the player was actually really upset he wasn’t hes just a good role player
These videos are actually giving me campaign ideas
Just played my first D&D campaign, it was a one-shot. My poor little Kobold Rouge was in a party where the task was to take a box through an area infested with Kobold “bandits”. In the box was The Heart of the Kobold, which explains all the “bandits”. When I learned what was in the box, I took it and ran. I was attacked, but we ran out of time, so I didn’t have time to do any death saves. The DM is really nice though, and they’re letting me use the character in more future campaigns.
i made a custom dnd race that basically does this with reviving as a baby after a day and growing up after a week
I lost a couple of characters in a Pathfinder 1st edition dungeon delve called the crystal spire. We played many games with no death but in that one there were six deaths that I can recall.
I'll never forget the first one when the slayer (Rouge/Ranger hybrid class) fell into a spiked pit trap, the traps lid started to close and we realized that a giant extraplaner spider was in the trap with the slayer.
Both of my character's went down trying to save other players.
When new characters joined the party they had to sign a contract that included instructions on how to handle their remains and property if they died.

In my games there are no saving throws or resurection spells. you die when you get to 0 hp and there is no going back. It is so much better this way.
