    People don't give Grievous enough credit for what he is, especially if you're comparing his Clone Wars 2003 to others.
    Grievous had nearly his entire body replaced with machinery, re-learned how to move properly, then learned how to become a better dualist than the majority of Jedi, all without use of the Force. He really was a monster that shouldn't be dismissed because of his failures

      Just because most of the main characters are better than him or at least good enough to escape from him, it doesn't mean he wasn't one of the greatest duelists/Jedi killers in the galaxy at the time.
      There were like 10,000 Jedi or something alive during the Clone Wars. To be better than pretty much all of them besides like the top 5 or something, is quite something.
      Hell, Grievous traded wins with Obi-Wan all the time if you actually recall the outcomes of their duels.

      Bro, just like literally any other force user will do, Ahsoka most likely reinforced her body during combat, with the force. If you don't think tearing ships apart counts as super strength, then I dunno what else to tell you.
      Either way, Grievous knocked her down as a padawan, but then had to deal with her clones. After that she ran away. Grievous literally would have been able to kill Ahsoka if they were alone during that fight, so I dunno what you're talking about.

      Shaak Ti? He DID beat her. He did not “ambush and cheaply win” against her. Read Labyrinth of Evil. It covers parts that were not shown in the Clone Wars microseries…. He did not “fear” Shaak Ti at all. Anakin is the one Jedi other than Yoda he would never be able to take. Sidious knew Anakin would body him. That’s why he kept them apart during the course of the war. Then, once he no longer had any need for Grievous, he wanted Anakin to be the one to hunt him down and kill him. He knew it would further boost his image as the Republic’s savior if he killed BOTH separatist military leaders, for when Order 66 was handed down to set him apart from the other Jedi and paint him as the only one loyal to Palpatine and the rest of the Republic. Just look what Anakin did to Dooku, the same Dooku who trained and completely toyed with Grievous disarming him at will. Sidious knew he’d wreck Grievous. There’s an infinites story where he DOES wreck him. Clone wars infinites stories are what WOULD have happened had one detail been switched or reversed. On Kamino, if Kenobi had went to stop Ventress and Anakin had went after Grievous; Anakin proceeds to clap him. Cutting off all his arms off just like Kenobi would later do, and subdues and captures him.. That’s a Lucasfilm published source. From the Clone Wars magazine #7. Anakin officially would’ve smoked Grievous. You’re supposed to pick that up from watching ROTS anyways, like I said from when Palpatine wants to send him after him so he can be the one to hunt him down and kill him. He knew he’d have no problem doing so.

    The RotS Novelization specifically states that he feared Obi Wan and Anakin. They were the legendary Jedi of the Clone Wars and upon his first encounter with them in the book, Obi Wan frees himself and Anakin with ease. Grievous chooses to retreat, fearing how quickly Kenobi took control of the situation, and fearing Anakin more, as Anakin had the reputation of being the better warrior.
    Then on Utapau, when Grievous is unable to break Obi Wan's defenses and loses two of his arms, he flees. The novel states that he realized he had an urgent appointment somewhere else, anywhere else. Of course, this was Grievous's final duel, so he had reason to be afraid.

I remember that Dooku once told Grievous that to beat the best of the jedi, he needed fear, surprise, and intimidation on his side, but if any of these were lacking he should retreat. He needed to unbalance them, get them afraid so they can't fall into the strengths of the light side. I think Dooku believed Grievous couldn't do that to Yoda. Obi Wan bested him many times throughout the war and Grievous, being so good at understanding his opponents' styles, surely noticed that Kenobi was getting better and better each time. At the time of Revenge of the Sith, Grievous should have known he had no chance of defeating Obi Wan, also considering that his style, being centered on defense, was useless to copy and use against himself. Obi Wan could counter Grievous almost always, or at worst he could still be more than a match for him, but we cannot say the opposite.

    I think Plo Koon could’ve beaten him. He was the only jedi to have ever beaten Yoda in sparring. He had skills in telekinesis and could control his environment. Ahsoka Tano would also probably have a decent chance at beating Grevious. I’d be surprised if Mace couldn’t beat him since he defeated Sidious. The debate has been whether or not Sidious let him defeat him in order to push Anakin to the dark side. He didn’t. When you watch the fight, it’s clear he overwhelmed Sidious at the end. Obviously, Obi Wan could beat him as well. Luke Skywalker could beat him. He’d just crush him without even using a light saber. Probably several jedi could best him in battle. Just use the force to crush him, pull his arms off, or throw him off a cliff. When comparing Grevious’ abilities to those of the force, he had insect-like skills.

    • @CerbeRawr
      @CerbeRawr Před rokem +1

      force crush isn't a jedi technique, and only Windu uses it rarily since he uses a part of dark-side. About pulling his arms off.. his whole body is made to endure jedi techniques, and therefore force-pull (even though i do think indeed, it would damage him). And about throwing him off a cliff, well... he's made in dura-steel, and he had to survive worse, i do think he'd survive this easily.

    I always said it would have made more sense to send a handful of Jedi including Ki-Adi and Shaak Ti to Utapau to fight Grievous and get a rematch. Would have made more sense if all but two or so Jedi were killed by Grievous and Kenobi only with some luck would have bested him in the end.
