    Thanks for your video. After watching this, I gathered up enough courage to attempt this myself on my 2016 Fiat 500 pop. The only thing I did differently was I used a blob of black silicone and a small piece of gorilla tape to effectively block it out. Put everything back in place and it worked. Thanks again.......

    I took a pair of pliers to the little light on the circuit board and tore it off. Then the seat belt light stayed on. So I tore it off too. Lastly, the ABS light took over, and out it came too. All three must have been sharing the same circuit.

    Requiring people to keep tpms sensors in their Vehicles is bullsh!t . Just put rubber valve stems in... buy a cheap tire pressure gauge and check it yourself... I had a shop replace mine and I had tpms sensors in them when I gave them the wheels but when I picked up they had rubber valve stems.. And I didnt know the tpms sensors went out 4 or 5 years down the road... That's BS!!

    it is actually not illegal to disable your own TPMS sensor. Honda made a case that if people put on aftermarket rims or tires, the light being constantly on would desensitize people to the warning light and its actual function on unmodified vehicles so the actual law is for vehicles 2006 and newer, manufactures are required to equip the vehicle with TPMS. Owner are allowed to disable them, or have them disabled but i would put that in writing as a modification if you sell the car. The other laws that were included ( it is illegal to disable or remove any SRS component or restraint belt) still holds.

    I check my tires weekly anyway, so I could certainly live without this TPMS Nuisance. I hate when I see it on all winter long, especially when I switch over to Snow Tires on Steel Rims and the TPMS Sensors are not interchangeable on my Alloys...completely different Stems.

    There are other methods out there for disabling the light. (Toyot Turdra) I'm looking into that now but really need to get a diagram before shorting out wiring. IMO tire stores want as it is a cash cow. $60 to replace one and actual cost is $15 per sensor. Break tire and reinstall sensor and the pare it to controller. 5 min job.

    • @willwarro4054

      got that right. i took apart a chevy trax gauge console. most is just clips. and a couple of screws. but when i attempted to remove the gauge panel from the circuit board i couldn't remove the needle speed indicator. not sure if you can. it runs through and is mounted inside a small white plastic housing. so i just took a piece of trimmed electrical tape and placed it on the black surface over the light. now light is gone. there is supposed to be a tpms emulator that will shut down the system. only I'm unable to find anything in detail about it. i drove cars for 40 years with no nothing. now its a packed full of worthless bullschit. like side radar, etc. guess that's all for those illiterate moron jerkoffs that aren't capable of driving a real car. if i can disconnect it or shut it off consider it done. now i wish i had kept my 76 el camino with a rebuilt 69, 327 engine. i even got an emission wavier because the engine was built before a certain year. now I'm screwed. i had a dodge caliber right low beam burn out and it shut down the high beams. i had to pay a jackazz dealer $90 bucks just to reset the tpms module. i almost reset his teeth arrangement over the event.

    Tires don't have tpms sensors. The tpms sensor is underneath your valve stem on your wheel. The sensor will stay installed if you get new tires. The issue is the tpms sensors' batteries go dead or they need to be reset. You cannot replace the battery on these sensors and they need to be replaced.

    How do you turn off the light

    • @avsti
      @avsti  Před rokem

      In this case it's on because of how I've wired the switch. The switch has 3 leads (the two inputs being switched, and one ground, which makes the light activate when the inputs see 12V and are connected).
      You can turn off the light, as wired, by switching the switch off, by resolving the TPMS error, or by disconnecting the switch's LED ground.
