This TPMS light seems to be a common issue. The Jscan app is a pretty handy tool to have along with the Vgate scanning tool. Make sure to subscribe to follow along and don't forget to check out the links below.

Hey if you didn't know this information or not but you should change your tire size in the JScan app that way your transmission will shift at the correct time and fix your mph.
8 years blinking, that's one hell of a light bulb. Nice fix. Personally I would have just inflated them to 255psi and called it a day.
Haha. I thought about it
Yep 8yrs... that's some time there. I have the same issue - nearing 2yrs LOL.. just loaded up Jscan on the phone and ordered a supported OBD bluetooth thingo to sort it out..... along with the rest of the christmas tree dash lights LOL
For some reason I just can't get more than 180psi in my tires. Now that I know I just gotta get a better air compressor to shut my light off. No more low tire beeps!
Thanks for the video - I've only had to suffer thru the TPMS light situation for a week but that was enough for me. The computer seemed to accept all my inputs and changes but the final step to get that light off was to disable TPMS. I'll watch the tire pressure for awhile and maybe try to turn it on again.
love the JEEP stuff, and the around-the-house stuff !!!!
That subscription tool you initially used to clear the codes that would have also had access to TPMS learning
The vgate and jscan wont learn the tpms on my jeep.
I love the JScan. I've used it for my 35's and when I regeared to 4.88. I also turned the TPMS off completely.
It is pretty handy. Worth the $20
You had me at Chi-nah 😂
Excellent video. It's better to watch non-professionals do repairs because they tend to explain things more step by step whereas a pro will assume people understand things and skip showing steps. So kudos to you for making it easy to know what to do. I think my problem is I may have mixed different year tires and rims and now I have to get any of the faulty ones fixed and then reprogram everything. My wrangler is s 2012. I may just leave the stupid thing lit up. My light doesn't flash. Just sits there and stares at me. Still - flat out annoying. Thanks again.
Ya the light is annoying. That tool is pretty handy to have. Ive used it for my truck too. Good luck getting it fixed.
That head unit is sick can't wait for video on it
There is a video on it. Its the other jeep video about upgrades.
DUDE! You chan is right up there with Vice Grip Garage as one of my favorites! VERY cool stuff!!
Thanks John! Glad you like it. Ill have to check them out.
Thanks Kyle more langmuir how to videos please had my table a few years still trying to get it to work great info on all your videos thanks
Ill have some more coming. Let me know if theres anything specific youd like to see
@@SpicerDesignsLLC tried following your easy button video last night Got it to the canvas upside down if course Lol, had to stop it a few times cause ys old school not computer savvy guys have trouble keeping up to you young whipper snappers! Lol thanks I will get it at some point everything is new but a few years old just got to get it from cad to cam a few times to get the jist of it!
Great info, nice video!
Great information! Thanks 😊
Mine would not go off after getting new tires. Took it back to the tire shop3 times. Ended up being the spare tire. LOL I did not even know the spare had one.
I've had the Abs and TPMS lights on since I rotated my tires replacing one with the spare. I believe it is because the tire shop didn't bother to learn the spare tire. In my Jscan app, I can see what the 4 tires' senser ID is, but on the spare it says the ID is 0000. And now that spare is on the rear right position and the Front Left tire is now the spare. As long as the new "spare" is mounted on back I would occasionally get a TPMS position code If I first back up and then it would go away after some time normal driving. But for a few weeks, the spare has been in the garage in order to load my Kayak on the roof and tie it down. that TPMS and ABS light have been lit constantly since. Going to try and relearn them But I don't think I can do it with the JScan app alone. I may have to go find an advanced TPMS tool
Ya the j scan app wont do it. Best bet is taking it to the dealer.
Very useful information
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks mate! Video saved.
Thanks. Nice video!
Let's not forget that the batteries in the individual TPMS sensors can die and cause the light to stay on. I have a 2012 JKU and just found out that this was the issue.
Kyle, it's really amazing how "We the people" have to rely on technology that can only be usable through APPS on our phones !!! Sheesh!...WHY !
( I personally dislike technology, worked in that field for 37 years, and it was always challenging due to ALWAYS changing!)
Glad you were able to find the fix. I'm sure it'll be a help to others.
I agree. Its become way to technical and complicated. Then you through in the rapid pace it advances at.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC Yep! I couldn't keep up,the boss would say,..." that's why we pay you the 'big bucks' ! We'd finally learn how to use it to ....(make our jobs easier?!!) then it would become obsolete! Younger guys would call me Gramps! I'm now a retired dinosaur, stress free?, STILL... having to learn this S#!t.
same issue for my 2010, had the light on since ‘12
That's kinda cool, but I use electric tape and or black magic marker. Using electric tape in my vehicles where they have all that fancy chrome that blinds you while you're driving. Can't have it all though.
I just got new to me rims, tires and sensors. Can I use Jscan to add the new sensors? Or do I need a dealer?
I think you have to take it to the dealer or get a learning tool. Jscan cant learn them. But once they are learned you may still need jscan to set the tire pressure parameters.
Nice video. I have the same problem with the tpms. Got new tires 35" for my Mojave. Would this work? Thanks.
Ya it should. You can reprogram the size too so your mph is accurate
Is it possible to completely disable the traction control of the JK for fun in the snow?
I havent looked in that jscan app. But i wouldnt doubt it. You can disable the tpms system for off-roading so i would imagine you can do the same with the traction control too.
As a Jeep owner I have to say that tmps sensors don't belong on off-road vehicles. I just turned off my tmps sensor for good.
How did you turn it off? Same as this guy? I
How did you do that
How do you do that?
Make sure to have the gadget connected while JScan is searching for your vehicles information.
Actually you are right .. what’s the point of them when you go off road and you need to let air pressure down for rugged terrain and /or sand
I have a 2015 Cherokee and a 2010 Wrangler. I have never had to do a relearn on the TPMS. The Jeeps do the relearn on their own, in my experience. I just replaced a sensor on my Wrangler and within one mile of driving the warning light went out.
It wasnt a relearning issue in this situation. The set point for the psi in the tires was set at over 200 psi. Needed to reprogram the parameters.
I guess you threw me off when you said that you bought a tool to relearn your sensors. My question is , since you bought the Jeep new, how did the parameters get out of range? You never mentioned taking the Jeep back to the dealer.@@SpicerDesignsLLC
@@rollieevans6292 i dont know how they got messed up. It had to be when the tire shop relearned the new sensors when we got the aftermarket tires and wheels.
You have to use the right TPM sensor for Chrysler other than that you have to retrain them
It’s almost like you never watched the video. Or paid one bit of attention
Did you have a Check TPMS system light as well? Also, did you have any PSI readings showing up in the display or were they all blank?
I have the above and blank PSI readings. Also the flashing light for a few seconds then steady. I have replaced the module as dealer said there was no power coming out of it but still the same with new module. Wondering if this app OBD JScan will also set up the new module before I spend the $20 on the app. I bought the OBD plug in you suggested already.
Thanks
I dont have a psi read out on my dash. Just had the light. You cant program the new sensors with the jscan tool but you can reset the parameters for the required psi. That was the issue with mine.
The menu button on the left side of the steering wheel takes you to the psi readouts.@@SpicerDesignsLLC
@@barrygill2637 ive tried. It doest display the psi in our jeep for some reason. Its a 2015
Mine is a 2015 as well and my menu button on the left side of my steering wheel cycles from direction/temp, digital speedometer ,mpg, range, tire psi, timer, vehicle info, units in US, system warnings, personal settings,@@SpicerDesignsLLC
If you check you're tired pressure on a regular basis you really don't need tpms
I agree. You can shut them off with that tool too which is nice.
I was hoping you would try getting 230 psi in those tires😂
Haha ya i thought about it. That would have been a funny suggestion in the video.
Dudes in my basement.. lol
And you're on his toolbox.
Its a very nice basement btw.
Chi nah 👌😆
Does the keystone girl let you drive 😅 I could see you in the back between the girls giving them a hard time lol. 😂
Hah. Oh ya, i always drive. And i still mess with the girls.
Would this work on a 2008 jk?
I would imagine so.
If you have a spare tire the tire shop has to reset all five tires. If they don’t the light will never go off. Even tho the four your driving on have been updated the spare tire has to be as well. I was having the same problem and that’s what I had discount tire do and bam the light went off and didn’t come back on till my tire pressure was low. Put air in the tires and bam it was gone. You did way to much work my freind. Just remember all five tires have to be set.
It wasnt the spare tire in my situation. The parameter was set at like 295psi. I had them all learned before. Never shut off. What i did had to be done.
Gotta love computer controled vehicles....not !
Disappointed. The caption for this video had me thinking he got rid of the jeep. I know I'm ready to get rid of mine amd I'll never buy another. Junkiest badly designed vehicles ever made. Will stick with Toyota from now on.
Sorry you had a bad experience. We got ours new in 15 and have had no issues. They definitely suck on the highway.
