    For the record (JScan staff here): after changing tire sizes you don't really need all those procedures. It's enough to leave the car turned off for a few minutes, and it should catch up and realize the tire size has been changed.

      Sorry. Just to be clear. Once I’m done and have disabled the initialize EGS. Do I still have to restart all ECUS and drive the JK? And do WOT 3-4 times?
      Or do I just stop and leave the jeep off for a few minutes after I disable the initialize EGS?

      @@JeffLenney you don't have to, but if the jeep feels clumsy and slow, it'll help. First adjust the tire size in JScan and see hoe it drives. Then you can consider the transmission relearn. Reach us (JScan) via fb message, I'll get you the links to the documentation

    Helpful video with great detail. Thank you!! For others who decide to do this, do note, however, this is specific to the JK model Wrangler. It works for the JL but the JL model is slightly different in that there is no "Initialize EGS" option so that part does not apply. As to whether to reset the TCM adaptives, that option is there but some comments from JScan suggest that may or may not be necessary.

    • @regularguyfixes3142
      @regularguyfixes3142 Před 3 lety

      Automatic decides when to shift for you. The computer hasss to know you got bigger tires to adapt to that and change the shift point. On a manual shift YOU are the shifter the computer. YOU decide to go to 5000rpms or 2000rpms then shift that's up to you the computer and JScan have nothing to do with a manual shifter. I would delete that comment if you don't wanna catch hell from the the Jeep world that you have a manual shifter and don't understand that...

      @@rickl571 o gotcha. My mistake. WOT stands for wide open throttle. Meaning from 0mph, mash the accelerator pedal & keep it down until the Jeep has gone through at least the first 3 gears (this is only for the automatic of course) & you'll want to do it in a safe area with traffic not around. Some say going WOT helps with the adaptive transmission reset.
