- The Rings of Power gets WORSE and fan attacks are back on the menu boys! Almost half way through and very little has happened in LOTRROP. The most drama is surrounding it. Amazon blocking reviews on prime, removing reviews from IMBD. A site they own. Attacking fans. None of this will make it a good show.

The Villain that we don't see is named Adar, not Arda. Won't be the last time this happens.
He's not a villain. I want him to barbeque Galadriel and wash it all down with Harfoot blood. Justice.
Amazon put out that statement just before allowing reviews. Reason? To put out the call for all the shills and stans to come give it 5/5 rating.
hmmm that sounds like Rada- gast backwards
Not-Hobbits with the straw costumes gave me strong Ari Aster Midsommar/Wickerman murder cult vibes. I was like....that is not a tone you want to hit with the audience
Adar, Arda, Udder, Odor, doesn't matter. None of the characters are memorable unless remembered for how bad they are...cough Galad*cough*riel cough.
Even CW shows have better writing than Amazon's Fustercluck
Even my husband couldn't watch it, and bear in mind, this man watches fast & furious...by choice. That is how I know something is bad.
Oh come on. F&F is action-packed, fast paced and braindead.....RoP is just braindead. There is a huge difference in entertainment quality there.
Watching F9 by choice? Jez, RoP must be worse than Nerdrotic says it is.
@@frankspeakmore7104 Cars go boom, gun goes pew pew. Has more entertainment value than this crap.
The difference is _Fast & the Furious_ KNOWS that it is bad. It aims to be silly braindead entertainment, and fully commits to it (it has a character with a plastered-up broken arm flexing until the cast shatters, for goodness sake: that is live-action anime levels of gleeful dumb).
The creators of _Rings of Power,_ on the other hand, fully believe that they are creating something profound and meaningful, and fully in keeping with the writings of a highly educated British scholar/linguist (while actually producing complete drivel unfit for community theatre).
After fighting through ep3 of this trash, I watched the Samaritan on prime video right after. And felt like "wow, this has some great acting/writing in it" - this is a perfect example of just how bad rings of power has been so far if a stupid full-of-cliches action movie can feel good in comparison.
Frodo: What’s the elvish word for sellout?
Gandalf: Bezos.
More like the Tolkien kid who sold him the rights.
@Women should cook And clean unprompted Bezos left the board a year ago, but he owns a ~10% stake still. People need to pay attention and come up with a more relevant boogeyman.
@@Pyromanemac nobody really values the idea of a boogeyman the way you do, because most people understand its not about a specific person, its the corporate money making system in general. Basically name is just a methaphor, doesnt have to be precise.

I love how Guyladriel swims Mary Sue like across a hundred miles of open ocean with zero waves, gets rescued by the only raft of sea dragon survivors within a 100 leagues, promply drinks their last bit of water and starts bossing them around like she stars on the Middle Earth version of the View.
Writing in Peter Jackson's Lotr: "Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The White Tower of Ecthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze. Have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?"
Writing in Rings of Power: "The sea is always right!"
This is the best point iv seen in 500 comments lol ....
And it was Jackson's original dialouge, perfectly in spirit with Tolkien's writing. Amazon could never.
Or even better : "Do you know why shit float?"
When Galadriel says to Sauron "You have the ring, and I see your Schwartz is as big as mine" I got sudden chills
Another great scene:
Sauron looks at Galadriel, after listening to her pleading for him to stay, says simply, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" and walks off into the night.
Reddit really saved the year with this meme 😅
Not to criticize your joke but wouldn't it have made more sense to say

In Amazon's moral superiority they created characters who never show humility, gratitude, compassion, companionship, self sacrifice ect. They project themselves into this series.
Good point
The sequel; The Unfellowship of the Shills
The best part is they made those characters either female or black, so I guess they think of women or black people they see a bunch of stuck up, selfish bitches. Hmm in their effort to not appear sexist or racist, they became the very thing they sought to destroy. Fitting
Well, woke people have no moral standards. So their characters tend to end up being inssufferable for most of the world.
Com-on man! The Harfoots hearts are even bigger than their feet!!!
Also Harfoots: "If you can't keep up, not one of us will care or lift a finger to help you, even if your ankle is broken.
Instead we will sing and dance while we leave you for dead.😂😂😂
Seriously, who could write such things?
The Hollywood leftist are so twisted, this is normal thought process to them.
The same people obsessed with releasing violent criminals, teaching children about gay sex and woman have penises, legalizing all drugs and killing unborn babies.... Well what else would you expect?
I enjoy watching this significantly more than the actual show.
I’m only watching the show to see if it’s as bad as these videos say 😂
It all started with cyberpunk 2077, ever since I’ve fallen into a deep spiral of watching bad movie and video game reviews. It’s at a point now where i get more enjoyment from that than what they actually put out
And IMDB-Amazon are _still_ rejecting reviews, removing review-likes, and applying stealth-strikes to reviewers, even for neutral, nuanced reviews that don't mention The Message. Such strength, such confidence.
When I was in high school my English teacher gave us an assignment to rewrite Romeo and Juliet (after we had finished reading the book as a class) in a modern setting, and it was fun for a school project, but not good for public viewing. I recently found that assignment and oh boy, it was nowhere near as clever as I thought it was at the time of writing it. This show feels like that assignment to me. I bet they all think they are really clever with it too.
It can be good - if done right. Baz Luhrmans Romeo + Juliet is not half bad - and is exactly your assignment.
So, they wanted you to write West Side Story? :D
@@fortcastellan1730 LOL, that was my thought! Loved that musical.
It's really fitting, since one central idea of Romeo & Juliet is how overconfident dumb kids can be, so certain they're a part of some grand [love] story when in reality they're silly kids finding their puppy love for the first time, and how that brash, ignorant, childish confidence can lead to pointless ruin, with everyone else looking on aghast thinking "what the hell did they think they were doing?" ("Did they think they were being smart?")
Yep agree with you..nothing agaisnt you but it felt like high school acting and writing and filming..
Imagine buying 50 year old scotch just to mix it with Coke at happy hour. This is every franchise since Disney bought Star Wars.
Or buying a Rolls Royce with cloth seats and a Ford Escort motor
Since Disney bought anything, I'd say. They've perverted so much folklore, fairy tales and oral tradition, but what was the first work they actually bought the rights to? Was A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh Disney's first paid-for lamb to the slaughter?
Now there are even adults who don't know of a "Winnie the Pooh" other than Disney's ugly cartoon... A whole generation has been deluded. Fortunately I don't think Amazon's LOTRBLMHBTQIAA++ will ever take over Tolkien's work in people's minds.
This series is more like mixing the 50 yo scotch with wet diarrhea. I'm almost finished my fourth reading of TLOTRS and it never gets old. This trash I refuse to watch.
@@entranced3366 I think I'm gonna follow you soon.
Fantastic metaphor. I think scotch and coke are fine, just like this show, and it's also a waste to set this story in Tolkien's world just like using 50 year old scotch as a mixer.
Galadriel is an incredible character in the books. She is powerful, mysterious and completely unique. It was this that made her such a key part of Lord of the Rings and why she is such a beloved character. Also, in the books she is the most powerful elf in lothlorien, she is their leader, even though she doesn't fight with a sword or lead battles. Amazon managed to undermine all that in under 10 minutes of screen time. They absolutely destroyed a character I have loved since I was 10 years old.
Little boys and bots can't comprehend male females matrix
In addition to that...She was born before the first age, that would make her already real old and sort of wise in the rings of power. In the series she is portrayed as some sort of opposite. Tolkien even gave her an character arc, that ends with her denying the one ring Frodo offers her and therefore not striving for more and more power. An arc that starts in the silmarillion. But I don't remember that revenge was also a theme about Galadriel.
Let's be real tho LOTR as whole is not even that good, everything could be solved if the einu whatever the god name is stopped being lazy and just wiped morgoth and sauron. The show its not that bad yall just mad
I think a very big issue (not really the biggest doe) is that she is the main character, when her whole thing is precisely being mysterious and kinda working in the dark. Now that she is everywhere we go, that special touch is gone
@@code_renard she's not everywhere, the harfoots, the dark elf, and the dwarves storyline have nothing to do with her.
The nail in the coffin for me was the white orcs. It’s so unbelievably laughable. Yes, there were lighter skinned orcs in LOTR like the one I call “biscuit head” who I believe appeared in Return of the King. It’s not strange to think that orcs might vary in color as they do in size. But, and I can’t stress this enough, the only reason to completely and for no reason turn orcs white is to fan-bait. Because of this, I stan those orcs and I hope they win.
They were grey ….. none where white like white people … what’s wrong with some of you , it’s not the world that’s constantly attacking you , your insane narcissistic mind sees YOURSELF everywhere, even when it has nothing to do with you. White orcs, like , I can’t wait to share this one, I thought the black dwarves was funny, you , you should get a special prize …
Animals who never see light of day tend to be white or better without pigment. Seeing a lot of sun gives more pigment like african people. So white orcs is a thing.
I'm also for the orcs... led by Benjen Stark (Game of Thrones)! ;-)

My friend, you have discovered The Message.
Speaking as a misanthrope, there's something I don't understand about all these whole supposedly race issues and whatnot: how many white characters are there in African folktales and other fiction as such? How many white actors are there in Nollywood films? Just curious. Cause, if it's some kind of karmic measure or what the fairy tale ever, being a heterosexual white male has given me zero privileges. Quite the opposite in fact. So. There.
I like how Guyladriel didn't say thank you to anyone for saving her ass, and immediately Karen the shit out of the episode demanding a ship to leave, YEP a truly likable character at this point I'm rooting for the Orcs and Sauron
Halbrand in ep3 was unironically way more likable despite basically being the Middle Earth equivalent of Satan.
Who said they were trying to make her likeable? She starts off flawed otherwise there would be no room for character development. And tbf she was even more cold and ruthless in the Jackson films.
THE SCOURGE OF THE ORGCYS!
But didn't you see that genuine big smile when she rode horsie??? That makes someone immediately likeable. Guyladriel not like men, Guyladrial like horsie
Sauron was always the hero of the story before the first episode came out. Nobody cares about anything in the show we just want Sauron to do badass things then make the rings.
The most hilarious part of episode 3 was when Galadriel got catfished on Tinder, and ended up at an Orcgy.
I've heard she prefers horses😉
In corrupted Numenor, that could've actually happened. Fortunately the writers don't have the talent to actually bring that to life.
as someone who stopped watching midway through the first episode, I am deeply concerned at this comment
And she “slayed” them all with a single “stroke” of her Mighty majestic magnificent hand.
The best part was after the orcgy she said “hasta la vista baby” and left on motorcycle
I'm Chinese and when I saw they put a Chinese looking actor as a civilian in Numenor street I was like LMAO WTF. Not to mention the Black soldier elf who always look constipated. the Latino-looking Hooman queen. The African dwarf queen. and our epic Guyladriel. This show is such a MASTERPIECE.
Ik im 9 months late but agreed. I’m brown skinned and never once while watching LotR did I think “I wish there were brown skinned characters.”, nor did I need a “strong, independent”female character to enjoy the films. I love Eowyn, Arwen, and Galadriel because they’re compassionate and strong-willed. Emphasis on compassionate. 💀 But they are only a fraction of the reason I love the films.
There are so many women in the world who are actually oppressed; I can’t speak for all women in privileged, free countries, but I don’t want this pandering narrative that acts like I’m held down because of my gender.
I’ve no problem with having or representing female characters but I don’t want it shoved in my face and if they really want a good female character don’t make them such annoyances like Galadriel in RoP, make them good role models like the women in the OG trilogy. It’s incredibly insulting to be told the only way a woman can be strong is to be a jerk. Hollywood has lost its mind.
It's a bad sign when the most compelling, likeable character is Sauron lol
"The Sea is always right" is a terrible motto that I can see backfiring spectacularly on a regular basis.
I know... imagine chanting that to the victims of that giant tsunami in Japan last decade.

Oh snap even the MERP books? While they're not canon they kept with the spirit of the lore. I loved MERP as a kid.
Wow, MERP? There's a blast from the past. And to think the writers of that game thought they were pushing the envelope when they detailed the Nazgul before they became wraiths and decided one of the kings of men had been a Queen.

Sincerest thanks to Nerd for sacrificing several hours of his existence on this plane simply to confirm what every sinew of my being has already told me. I really do feel that he's "taken one for the team" in doing so. Great work.
Aside from the fact that none of the elves look very "elvish", the race issues is simply a distraction. I'd bet that 9 out of 10 people who support the use of non-white actors would still admit to it being a distraction, just as it would have been a distraction to cast white actors in Wakanda. Black Panther was about claiming a black cultural history, and while Tolkien did not set out to be race exclusive, he was merely doing the same thing with celtic british history. I actually laughed out loud at the "let's break some rocks" competition between Elrond (who doesn't strike me as terribly elvish, either) and the dwarf prince. Galadriel doesn't strike me as terribly powerful despite the kung fu moves that she breaks out fighting orcs.
I just loved the bit where Galadriel figured out, after hundreds of years, that you have to turn the sigil 90 degrees to figure it out.

Just a thought but being a black dude myself how in the heck does that elf keep a FRESH FADE.
Back when Shakespeare was still writing, actors were considered on par with beggars and vagabonds; with these actors' attacks on fans, I can see why they thought that way.
Yep, and with those actors joining in with the showrunners calling the fans who tune in and buy their stuff, every -ist or -phobe under the Sun for having an honest critical opinion of the show, it shows they are not adults but petulant children in adult form. Clearly, these people have never studied business or marketing nor been given constructive criticism. So, let's alienate our consumers by calling them bigots for not liking the product released to the public for consumption. That will show them that it will not totally backfire in the long run. I can see why actors were treated back in the day like court jesters, on par with beggars and vagabonds. Their job is to entertain people; most people turn them off when they turn from entertainers to political activists; in fact, in the days of Shakespeare, they would be executed if not imprisoned for being such.
Yeah, actors and court jesters were beneath even prostitutes on the social ladder.
It's purely modern tech that allows global consumers that makes them rich & famous. That's it. If anything it shows they're overpaid.
It is, in fact the reason drag was created - insofar as men performing as women. Women were barred from being stage actors as it was simply unbecoming of a woman. Prostitution was an equally honourable profession at that time...
Yet, supreme irony; drag is now celebrated, blackface is now absolutely taboo; yet both have the same theatrical origin.
Actors are basically good liars; it's natural to mistrust them.

It’s what happens when you have a billion dollars, but you disrespect the lore, for an agenda.
They were full price writers, because the wage gap must be overcome. They couldn't overcome the talent gap though.

I resisted 2 episodes but in 3rd episode, Galadriel's behaving like 14 years old girl was too much for me.The series is inconsistent even within itself, Galadriel is given the title of Commander of Northern Armies in first 2 episodes but she doesn't even know how to talk to the Queen of Numenor in the 3rd episode. I guess the producers of the series is so dumb that they believe a person who has teen girl intelligence can be an army commander.
Exactly this woman is older than the human race itself and is behaving like this especially after the war of wrath.
Speaks volumes how mature and intelligent the show runners are. They just don't know any better. Kinda pity all those brainwashed basterds.

I like how the Harfoot ideology is "Nobody walks alone," and yet the central conflict of that storyline is that the Harfoots are going to force Nori and her family to "walk alone" because they can't be bothered to slow down or push back their migration for valued members of their community... Just an incredible contradiction.
"Our hearts are bigger than our feet. Now leave all the sick and injured behind to die alone! Don't worry, we'll remember you in our hearts! That are as big as our feet!"
If only they had set off a week earlier, they would be able to let everyone keep up.
Because that's the dark side of their community. I thought it was easy to see it was their problem lmao.
it's such a forced contrivance to give Nori and Hobo Gandalf something to do. I love the morons on RoP subreddit defending the idea of psycho Hobbits leaving people to die because it makes them not so cute and cuddly. Uh, so making them a nomadic cult is better? I'm sure that's what Tolkien would have wanted with his Hobbit characters who were modeled on the simple good-natured country people of Britian.
Many concepts even in the Bible and other books of religion contradict themselves. Humanity is flawed and full of contradictions. The harfoots can’t afford to stop because they are small and have to move constantly to migrate before the weather follows them. Like most animals, sick and dying are left when migrations occur 🤷🏻♀️. It doesn’t seem very difficult to understand lol

Why would I willingly volunteer for an experience like this?
What's funny is nobody is talking about the racist portrayal of Irish people by the Harfoots. I wrote this review on Amazon. It was rejected for "inappropriate content". In other words, they didn't like it.
"Having read Tolkien's material there has rarely been more descriptive detail about how someone looked. Elves always looked a certain way. Long hair, fair skin, glowing aura and such. These 'Elves' look like an Ivy League Lacrosse team searching for a Zima, and a clue."

Oh man, Zima? That's a drink I haven't heard of in a long time.
Mentioning 'fair skin' was definitely what caused it to be rejected. Any negative reference to skin tone is an auto-reject.

Of course it was rejected. It has a lot of racist red flags

Its crazy how shoehorning character changes in based purely on race is okay for something based on Celtic mythology but having white actors in gods of Egypt was crossing the line. I'm just sick of the double standard. If you want representation that badly promote original storytelling that are based on different cultures dont snag other people's work and created worlds and tear them down to rebuild it to your liking. Its lazy and selfish.
my favourite is having a black Heimdallr in Thor movies. The guy who was described as the palest skinned god in nordic mythology xD
Agree w/ most of what you said but have to point out it's not Celtic mythology but Anglo-Saxon mythology.
Because being original won't erase whites. They don't want representation, they want annihilation.
Although I agree with you ..but Hollywood has been doing this to us for years. For years white actors have played ethnic roles because the white Racist piers that be wouldn’t accept seeing people of color on TV or I’m the movies . Nor would Hollywood make movies about other world cultures or historical people unless they were of Anglo history. So now here we’re are all these years later trying to make up for all the racist BS that our grandfathers and fathers created . And I’m doing that we are making our own mistakes. Now we are going out of our way to make everyone happy. And we can’t..you can’t make everyone happy…what needs to happen is the viewers of movies and TV need to open up to stories and mythology other than Anglo Saxon perspective. Superman shouldn’t be recast as a black man …Black hero’s need to be written and put on screen and accepted.

The white orcs is pretty funny. I always thought they were supposed to be rare, as that was the impression I got from LOTR and the Hobbit.
Also, Orcs are described as being "swart, broad, flat-nosed, sallow-skinned, bow-legged, with wide mouths and slant eyes, long arms, dark skin, and fangs". So, yeah, white orcs is also not cannon.
But of course we can't have black orcs or else the "totally not racist" woke media will link fictitious creatures with black skin to human black people and accuse the show of being racist when they are the ones doing that brain gymnastics.

Wait, wait, wait. Did Amazon actually say "Sampled Rings of Power"?
On Prime, doesn't "Sampled" mean they watched a preview or selected the show and watched the little preview thingy that plays while you can read a synopsis?
If that's true, Amazon is pulling even more F'ery on us.
That is a theory, other one is that you start an episode (but do not finish it). Thus making a 1 min watch a sampling.
It is intrigueing that they chose to use this wording and not plain outright views, but that would imply that the viewer would have watched the whole episode, wouldn´t it.
Wouldn't that technically mean that if someone was just hovering over the bloody show while they went to the bathroom or got a snack, that would then count as a "view"
Seems completely useless as a metric to me but then again, I didn't set literal billions of dollars on fire
The wording is sus as hell. "Sampled" can meaning anything, from starting the trailer to watching an episode it for 5 minutes. That kind of language is used when you want to hide something but need to maintain plausible deniability.
I hadn't looked at prime for weeks then decided to see if I could find something to watch 6 days after ROP premiered (not ROP, but maybe an old movie or TV show). I found ROP was on my continue watching list. I nor anyone in my family had started watching it. So how did it end up on my continue watching list? Amazon had to put it there and maybe that's how they came up w/ that 25 million number. And notice they claimed that many VIEWS on the first night and only switched to saying SAMPLED after the real numbers came out.
Streaming companies have realized they can quite blatantly lie to their investors about viewership, and they take ANY consumption of their propaganda, even if it was a trailer, misclick, or even pirating (yes they track pirating numbers too) as evidence of success. This is also why they furiously suppress criticism whenever possible, as it makes it abundantly obvious their garbage is garbage. Netflix has done identical things, from removing written reviews on their website, to removing stars so you could get an accurate at-a-glance rating, to just straight up lying about popularity of shows. It's doubly funny when they'll insist a show is super popular, like the Cowboy Bebop or Resident Evil live action shows, then cancel it a month later.
We're in a post truth society where the largest organizations on earth can blatantly lie through their teeth, and everyone expects you to just pretend they aren't full of it.
