- The Rings Of Power is a pale imitation and sometimes-rip-off of Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings films.
I analyze the situation and review episodes 1 through 3 of the TV show.

It began with the forging of the great films. Threads were given by Tolkien, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Rights were granted to Jackson, great miner and craftsman of the mountain of lore. And nine, nine hours were gifted to the race of men, who above all else, desire quality. But they were all of them deceived, for another show was made. In the land of Amazon, in the fires of Mount Prime, the Dark Lord Bezos forged in secret a master flop. And into this show he poured his money, his greed and his will to dominate all film. One show to ruin them all.

A MASTER FLOP
You, Sir, are a master and a scholar.
We have all been deceived and have had our minds clouded by the will and desire of our hearts.
I hold the lore of the many books closest to my heart.
I then (sometimes to my detriment) hold the adaptations by Peter Jackson (miner of lore, forgetter of some) upon my sleeve. His whimsical and attractive visions being my entry into this world many years ago.
But utter disgust takes a hold on me when I see this. There is PLENTY of story and lore in the silmarillion that can hold a true and happy audience than this... wargshit. Battles between Elves and Balrogs. Between men and Nazguul. Weapons with pure ancient magic to be forged and whole islands to fall out of existence. Dragons to be slain.... I can go on and on... this is a pure atrocity to the memory of J.R.R. Tolkien.
I hope that they enjoy the fleeting monetary gain this gives them. Because it will not last.
My favorite scene is when galadriel said to darth vader "That's not a knife", pulled out excalibur from the stone and said "That's a knife". My spine imploded
🤣🤣
I shed a tear when she did the "head on a stick" on him...
So brave...
🤣🤣 underrated comment.
And also said "Nice light saber. Let me make it even lighter." then sliced it in half and caught the end to fuel her jet back with, and then Vader said....
Damn, now I feel left out because I fell asleep during the first 15 min of the show and did not watch it again.
I always imagined Galadriel as a character who was queenly, angelic, magical and wise beyond mortal humans. In this travesty she reminds of someone who would serve me beers at the local bar.
Please, those women are much nicer
Wait, you are saying the young elf doesn't behave the same way as she does 3500 years worth of life later? Wow. Amazin. Lotta good criticisms about the show, then every once in awhile an idiot reaches for the keyboard.
@@Charagrin shows hot garbage why defend it…

@@my68chevy2 What about my specifically saying there's a lotta good criticisms about the show, and that this isn't it because the criticism presented doesn't make sense, is me defending the show? Shows a steaming pile of shit, but this idiots reason isn't why.
@@Charagrin bruh Legolas is only, like, what, 2800 years old in LotR? he feels way wiser, calmer and more collected than Strong Woman ever does in RoP. Fuck, his most vulnerable moment, basically the elf equivalent of a meltdown, is in Helm's Deep, and even then he barely raises his voice. Strong Woman just feels like a bitter, angry BITCH that lashes out at anyone or anything that refuses to lick her boots till the leather wears off.
EDIT: correction, Legolas was 2931 years old
Cate Blanchett nailed galadriel. She was feminine yet commanded massive respect. So elegant, graceful, and mysterious. You really get the sense she was an ancient being with great knowledge to the point where she gives off eery vibes. This new girl gives none of that energy, she just wants to be a girl boss.
acting cant save shit writing
That could have something to do with the fact that the folks who wrote and directed Cate Blanchett's performance actually cared about producing something other than soulless corporate swill designed exclusively to further their masters' political agenda.
Compounded by the fact that Cate Blanchett herself has poise, elegance and gravitas.
Welshina Mcwhatshercunt on the other hand, seems woefully out of her depth everytime she's saddled with material that requires anything approaching subtlety.
She also appears to be the patron saint of resting bitch face.
You've likely never read the book. I admit Cate Blanchett delivered a good performance as Galadriel. But the movies screw the Mirror of Galadriel scene up.
"Our hearts are bigger then our feet". Said the people who abandoned those who are ill or cannot keep up.

Its really cheap
Yeah, they keep forcing taglines (for marketing) but don't have the story to back it up (or in this case do the exact opposite) versus good stories that build up to a line or if it is used for framing or foreshadowing be consistent or have some kind of pay off.

When the actors all said they loved LOTR and Tolkien’s work…I thought to myself “then why would agree to be in this show?”
Because they need to make money and probably didn't think it would be so shit. They get casted before getting the full script
It’s important to not blame the actors for the show being so bad. They’re usually just doing the best they can with what they got. Same deal with the actors in the Star Wars sequels.
Because they said they loved it; they never said they actually read it. It's clear they didn't read the Silmarillion.
Because they love money too?
They don't have an attention span beyond moving pictures.

Her ONLY name in the show is Galadriel meaning "maiden crowned with a garland of bright radiance."
But apparently her rendition wasn’t accepted as strong and powerful. Apparently wiping out a battalion of Orcs with a snap of her finger isn’t powerful. She has to become a man hating Karen who insults everyone and likes playing darts at the bar and breeding huskies with her girlfriend named Tannnya who is a welder. That’s strong. That’s brave. We had three Pinocchio-Movies in 2022, but still Galadriel was the most wooden protagonist.
I liked the scene where Galadriel said "it's Galadriel time" and Galadrielled all over the place.
It might be worth noting that the Cave Troll scene in Fellowship became a teamwork scene. No one member of the Fellowship was shown to be worthless. They all worked together to bring it down.
They have a cave troll
That's because they were all useless, pathetic men.
If a woman had been there she'd have vaulted off one of Legolas' arrows and cut off the cave trolls head off, then vaulted off the cave troll's flying, severed head to kick off the Balrog's head, then would have put on the ring and have been found to be able to master it easily because women have it so much harder than all men.
@Alexander Machado are you really implying an elf is more than gandalf?
@Alexander Machado gandalf respected everyone from frodo and bilbo all the way to even denethor.
i´m not saying galadriel isn´t powerful
Despite the cgi starting to be a bit outdated, that scene give me always such a sense of belonging. The fellowship was working together to survive. Such a strong party.
My favorite part is where Galadrial used the Elder Wand to knock the T-1000 into a vat of molten steel while shouting "76 CENTS!" So inspiring I voided my bowels.
I liked the part where the dragonborn shows up inexplicably and accidentally genocides all the [redacted] elves and dwarves with his summon storm shout, because after all the [redacted] don't exist in the future.

I just started rereading the books after this show started. All I can say is the disdain I have for the show continues to grow each page I get deeper into Tolkein’s universe. Rings of Power needs to be cancelled. I’m convinced Tolkein is going to haunt Jeff Besos in the afterlife.
Did bezos wright rings of power?
Don't think they will meet in the afterlife. Bezos is heading south to a very different place.
If this series could be retro fitted with the sound effects found in this video "Remember Berries" etc. If this was re-released as a comedy then it would be amazing.
Add laughter tracks (Eg When she kills the thing at the start or when she jumps)
@@DutchVilla Oh! A laugh/bloopers sound effects track for this would be sooooo delicious. Please, anyone?
I'm reading the book for the first time. When I first met Galadriel and read that scene where she seemed to read the characters' hearts and offer them what they desired if they abandoned the quest, I was like, "Holy crap, this woman could kick my butt if she wanted to." To me, it was far better at conveying her power (and making me low-key fear her) than if she fought a troll solo.
No one has appropriately addressed how stupid it was that galadriel jumped ship. They were literally at the shores of valinor and she decides to just swim 5000 miles back to middle earth?!
Welcome to the genre of Fantasy
@@MauriDoval no it's just bad writing. Fantasy doesn't mean illogical
Galadriel was not allowed to return to Valinor until she rejected the One Ring in the trilogy. she was one of the remaining elves left that led the rebellion in Valinor to pursue Morgoth to middle earth and participated (duped) in the kinslaying at Aquallonde. That was why they were exiled by the gods. The story-arc of the elves in exile is ultimately one of redemption so they can return to Valinor. The House of Feanor, because of the Oath, perished eventually.
@@miguelangelortizoliveras1833 ok thats all well and good it, doesn't excuse her jumping ship and swimming across the world.
@@m33tballa what i'm trying to say is that it is not what happened according to the Lore. They are mixing things off. The rings creation timeline is the 1600's of the second age. Elendill and Isildur are at the War of the Last alliance in 3400's of the second age. They obviously hadn't bothered to even check the history, they are making thinks up, and badly at that...
My favorite part was when Galadriel took out her lightsabre, and smashed the Horcrux, saying "I am no man."

You all simply misunderstood the movie. This movie is brilliant! It is a brilliant deep sleep ASMR movie! I personally fell asleep on each episode of this wonderful season! Thanks Amazon!
I adore the scene where Sauron T-poses over Galadriel before banishing her to the shadow realm. I got shivers down me spine.
Galadriel is epic. Not because of her acts in the show. The real Galadriel is a princess of the Noldor or High Elves. She founded three elf kingdoms in her time in middle earth. She actually founded Ost in Edhil, the very place the rings of power were fashioned. During this time she was visited by a powerful lord of the Numenoreans who later became the 6. king of that realm. She was a sorceress and a politician. She was married with a poweful telerin prince and mother in law of Elrond. When Ost in Edhil was destroyed she retaliated in kind and sent for help to Numenore and Tar Minastir sent vast fleets at her behest to save Gil Galad and the elves and completely rout the forces of Sauron who afterwards did not have the manpower to seriously challenge the elves and men for almost a century. That was Galadriel! I would not have minded to be shown that Galadriel and not the whiny Mary Sue daughter of Karen we got!
The real Galadriel doesn't have enough of a middle finger vibe for the writers. That's what writing modern women is about. Saying fuck you to everyone who comes near them lol. The largest suspense of disbelief is that show Galadriel has friends.
Is easier for the writers to do a warrior princess than a smart politician...
You forgot to mention that she's two meters tall and she LITERALLY glows in the dark! ("with a silver radiance like the first stars of Varda")
Hear hear. Very well put.
My girl Galadriel!!!!
Peter Jackson's elves: Extremely pretty, almost ethereal, peerless presence, characteristic talk, immaculate in every sense, actually look like immortal beings.
Exactly as Tolkien described.
Amazon's elves: Cranky humans with pointy ears.
By the way, if that truly is Gandalf, that's also absolute BS. None of the Istari came to Middle Earth until half of the Third Age had passed. And Gandalf was the last one to arrive.
This show is a big scam. Don't expect anything good from it
You nailed it, first thing is saw is there is something off about the elves, you just described it perfectly
Why you care? No one cares, just enjoy the show man. /s
Go back and watch one of the scenes with Galadriel in LotR.
Then remember that Cate Blanchett was younger than Morydd Clarke when she took the role.
Another amusing fact is imagine if they had unleashed what Galadriel was capable of if they followed the lore.
You wouldn't get her dressed up as a soldier though...
P.s I dont have anything against M.C. she seems like a competent actress but is severely disabled by the writing. I would love to see what she could do with the character if she wasnt limited by the writing and "the message".
I think he's one of the blue wizards
I couldn't write anything anywhere near as impressive as Tolkein. The man was an absolutely insane beast at world building and writing.
That being said, I have read all of his material enough times that I could have absolutely outclassed these fools and at least have made something that was a pale shadow, rather than a mockery. And this isn't my job. I'm just a huge fan.
You said yourself what the issue is. They're making it for profit. You would make it cause you love it. Wish you could've made the show dude, it really needed some passion.
I think a good collection of Tolkien fans absolutely would have knocked this out of the park. The difference is Tolkien fans would have had humility, because we would understand that we're not the equals of the professor and to use his words whenever and wherever we could.
Personally, I would have loved to tackle the story of Annatar coming among the Elves and some of them (Celebrimbor and such) welcoming him and others (Gil-Galad for example) treating him with suspicion. That's where you could have had Galadriel shine, is she's one of the first to have a problem with Annatar and then she sends word to Gi-Galad that something is wrong with this guy and he bars him from Lindon, but they readily welcome him in Eregion. Anyways, that's my two cents. I would have also liked to see Celebrimbor and Elrond go to Khazad-Dum in the days when they and the Elves of Eregion were on good terms and they could literally walk into Moria at their leisure. We could see Celebrimbor know the guards at the gates and as they're walking in he's waving and shaking hands with everyone and the first thing Durin does when they arrive to talk is poor them all tankards of beer and they have to have a drink with him. It could have been fun and charming and beautiful.
You're right... I have no doubt you could do better. I hate people calling it 'fan fiction' as an insult, as literal fan fiction is more dedicated to source material than this shameless cash grab.
@@majorpwner241 yeah as long as it's not one of those real weird fan-fictions where someone does some crazy stuff like making Boromir and Aragorn secret lovers or something. Haha
@@JCTheSniper15 Yeah I totally agree - Those two being secret lovers? C'mon, they couldn't keep that a secret. They'd just be openly kissing in front of the Hobbits n junk. Haha
It's crazy how the LOTR trilogy was made with 94 million dollars per movie and this takes up 715 million.
So... the Tolkien Estate absolutely loathes Peter Jackson because, they claim, he did not do Tolkien's story justice. I guess they're happy with Amazon's handling of the lore. I can only imagine the producers bringing the script to the lore master and the lore master disagreeing with every decision made. So, instead of figuring out how to use the existing Tolkien story/characters and flesh it out, Amazon promptly fired their lore master, surrounded themselves with yes-men, and said "we can write whatever story we want without consequence"
Yeah but Tolkien estate? lol like saying Abraham Lincoins son's opinion is important, who cares.
They waited for the Tolkien Estate aka Christopher Tolkien to die before rushing to Amazon for more money. What is left now is people who don't actually care about Tolkien's work. Just the money they could make from it.
Hollywood has been preying on old IPs, waiting for their protectors to die before taking it over and inserting their junk writing. They did the same with Wheel Of Time only a few years after the author died. Now they did it with Middle Earth right after Christopher Tolkien died. It's obvious the inheriting IP owners care less about legacy and integrity of the respective properties. I'm just wondering what will be next on the vultures' list after the creators die.

And let us not forget their pantomime 'Irish accent' and being 'travellers', schlepping their carts/caravans around. LIving in shanty hovels, half buried in the ground. Being constantly dirty, always rootling in the dirt for anything to eat, always starving and even stealing from any human garden they encounter. Racist much? Did these writers/showrunners never hear of the Irish Potato Famine? How poor Irish peasants, who lived in half buried hovels, were desperately rootling in the ground for their potato crop, the only thing that kept them alive, only to find the blight had rotted them all? Do they know about the one million men, women and children who starved to death and the additional one to two million who emigrated to America, desperate to escape starvation, only to find that they were compared to Blacks by American racists and deemed as low or even lower? Do these people know about the Irish Travelers, also known as 'tinkers' or 'Irish gypsies' (distinct from the Roma)?

Pretty much agree with everything you bring up. I didn't have high expectations to begin with. I was able to enjoy some aspects, like the visuals. However, much of the CGI still looks CGI... The main issues are the acting and writing. The one thing that also seemed very silly was that they had 5-10 different ethnicities in a single hobbit tribe, or on a single boat. Like diversity, we get it lol... Why not have a dwarf play an elf and an elf play a dwarf etc. I'm sure Galadriel will turn out as a lesbian.
Well... her husband of centuries got in the way of the narrative and they killed him off so.... sure. Why not?
@timemachine194 Well, if they wanted to have black characters, they could have casted black people for the Southlanders. Or added the Easterlings into the story. Even black elves could have worked if they're Avari who migrated to the far South or east long time ago. I agree that it doesn't make much sense for the dwarves. The only explanation I could have is that their blood mixed with a different humanoid species thats black.
But portraying different species like the Harfoots as multicultural when they're, in fact, isolated and live in medieval times, it doesn't make much sense. This show is what you get if you try to apply modern standards from bustling capital cities into ancient fantasy settings.

Black elves are not a RoP creation. It's not explained here, but whatever - try to use your imagination I guess. The biggest issue in film/tv right now is 99% of the production companies have it backwards.
It should be:

Not:
“I want to have a film/show made, let’s go create a story for it”
Approaching something with the attitude of the latter will always result in an underwhelming creation
The biggest issue in film/tv right now is they think making the same shit over but making a portion of the cast Black or Hispanic is groundbreaking. @@tomwhitworth1560 I don't think it was meant to be so tone-deaf and dissonant with the rest of the story. So very wise. What a travesty
I know it's such a small thing but I hate that the elves in rings of power doesn't really feel or look like tolkien/peter jackson elves, they just look and act like humans with pointy ears. The reasons the elves in the other films act and look the way they do is because they can afford to, they are immortals, they have no need for practical (like keeping your hair short) and they are fond of beauty (long hair) and also diamonds and silver, not gold because that is for humans and dwarves
not to mention the whole woke movement they are trying to implement.
Yeah elves need to act high and mighty imo. They should be very cold for the most part and Galadriel should have seemed divine and wise compared to even the Numenorians.
They look like they were all cast out of a goddamn Calvin Klein catalog. Like what is with the cheekbones in chin of whatever that elf's name is that's gladriel's older brother apparently. Shows you how much love this show just inspires from me
Small thing ? That is a huge thing.
The Elves were supposed to be exceptionally beautiful.
So why are those so fking ugly?
They are not good looking even with human standards.....
I also find people don't mention the music enough. While I myself am little more than a layman in the topic, I've seen a few videos detailing all the things Howard Shore does to make the music work so well - and the fact is, just as the music works to enhance the movies, so too do the movies let the music BREATHE. The music isn't just there to tell the audience "YEAH THIS IS EPIIIIIIC" or "boohoo this is so saaad :(", the masterpieces of Howard Shore basically tell the same story the movies do, just in music form. His masterful use of leitmotifs is *legendary* and in contrast, the music in Rings of Power is just... Well, it feels... Basic. It's like they just ripped it out of a free stock music website. Like they wrote "epic free music" in Google and just used whatever showed up on page 2 (they didn't wanna make it too obvious).
To be fair the show runners were right about one thing : Back to the books, back to the books, back to the books. And that is what I did, I re read Tolkien from Silmarillion to Children of Hurin, order the last book fall of Numenor and bought the WoT series and it feels like a treat, no woke nonsense - as most of these people don't read fantasy - and great stories from great writer.
Remember in Fellowship how it took everyone in the party to beat the troll? Now it's that everybody is incompetent except for the one protagonist. I hate that kind of writing. It's just unbelievable and it reeks of writer's self insert.
I despise self insert fanfiction type of writing. It's the equivalent of wanking one's ego
RoP in summary - Wahmen strong, men weak.
Yes, they wanted to show how badass Galadriel was but if anything they unintentionally made her look worse. She is the leader but all the male elves she took with her on a dangerous mission to find Sauron were so incompetently trained they couldn't even handle a troll. Later, they end up turning against her. What does that say about a leader?
They could have Galadriel ordering her men to get in formation when they see the troll, with one member distracting the troll with a torch, the other striking it with arrows, another striking with a sword, and then Galadriel using her magic to deliver the killing blow. It would have shown how excellent Galadriel had trained her men and how effective she is at leading them. She could have also shown them some compassion, maybe healing or tending to their wounds. Maybe one of the men gets seriously injuried and that's when she decides to turn back, for the sake of his health. That would have been a whole lot better than the apathetic, selfish, arrogant Galadriel who was willing to endanger the lives of her men so she can avenge her brother!
And its the exsact opoosite of Tolkiens vision.
The whole strengh in the forces of good was the combined might of Elf,, mankind and dwarven kind fucking over Saurons armies.
The fellowship is the union of the best of each world, sharing their unique talents and traits to reach a common goal. Overcome odds together. Sacrafice for each other.
It was a deep and meaningful story about how union can archieve much.

There are some great female protagonists out there. But this version of Galadriel is not one of them.

Xena, warrior princess. The GOAT
Come on. She’s slowly being shown that all these traits (brash, petulant etc) AREN’T strengths. They’re flaws. Usually films/shows want the female character just to be perfect because they say so, Mary Sue. This isn’t the case. She’s literally losing hard because she’s being all those traits.
She’s learning that those traits don’t make her strong or a leader. She has to start with flaws, otherwise she won’t go anywhere as a character.

Personally I think this series is vitally important going forwards. From now on anyone involved in teaching creative writing, especially classes aimed at those seeking a career in film as writers, will have the perfect example of how not to do an adaptation. Pretty much everything about this series, the characters, dialogue, scene transitions, costumes, and so on are executed in a way that stands head and shoulders above the competition in awfulness.
The amount of money this series stands to lose will also (one hopes) be an object lesson to all studio execs in the importance of choosing show runners with extreme care. Making sure that, when adapting a well-known IP in particular, you select those who both know and care about the original works and are passionate about creating a work that pays tribute to the source material in a way that can be recognised and respected by all who watch the adaptation.
The Witcher series was bad (not counting Henry's portrayal of Geralt)....but Rings of power is just so much worse in almost every respect.
I’m disgusted by what they did to Galadriel. She’s been my favorite character for years and they made her “human”.

I really like how you watched the show, saw how Galadriel was a terrible person, saw how everyone repeatedly said she was a terrible person, then just ignored every single time she didn't get what she wanted because she was a bad person, and then declared her a Mary sue.
I have no idea how you can watch this show and walk away thinking the writers wanted Galadriel to be revered by the audience as for much of the show she is hated by everyone around her and is only good at one thing, which is fighting.
it is only after she heeds the advice of Halbrand does she even start to make progress towards her desires and the show ends with Galadriel falling back into her old personality, losing all the progress she made, and actively choosing to forge the rings so that she can get her revenge on Sauron, thus setting into motion the events that would doom thousands upon thousands of lives.
Seriously, her dagger is a literal representation of all that is wrong with her, and what are the rings of power made out of? Her dagger.
This is not stellar or complicated writing guys, anyone who approaches this show with some level of charity can figure it out.
bro...this is a poor assessment of the intention the writers had for the character and cynic's point about her being a mary sue
@@PhoBos_____ These are literally quotes from the show runners.
JD Payne: "Galadriel also says when she's offered the ring, "Instead of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen." She feels like she's experienced or anticipated this temptation for a long time. All of these things spoke to a long history with darkness, and more specifically with Sauron."
JD Payne: "I think there has to be a reckoning. Even knowing that Sauron was partially involved in the science behind the making of the rings, we see her give the go-ahead to make the rings anyway. She also has to bear some responsibility; “I empowered the Dark Lord. I saved his life on a raft. I was party to him coming from obscurity to head an army.” That’s a lot she has to wrestle with and be accountable for. I think we can expect to see her having to pick up those threads and see how those decisions impact her various relationships."
Patrick Mckay: " Season One has been a real journey for Galadriel emotionally. She was so sure that she was right, that this was her destiny, that this is the fight she had to have. When she's watching the ash cloud come toward her in Episode Seven, she really feels what a terrible mistake her pride has led her to make and pull so many people into. I love watching her and Theo in that episode. I really feel her reflecting on her own mistakes and counseling Theo not to make the same mistakes that she has made. But then in the eighth episode, we end with Elrond finding evidence that she lied to him. Her facing the consequences of that has not ended yet."
It's very clear they intend for her to be a bad person in the story.
What proof do you have of the writers intentions?

Of courses. It is for the "So good, it's great" section.
It's not even producing good memes. At least we got some memes from GOT S8, but this...this is going to fade into obscurity quickly, and not soon enough at that.
The first ten minutes, Galadriel is proving to be more of a villain then Sauron is.
And the Harfoots weren't ancestors, they were just another tribe from the 2nd Age.
Thank you. Really tired of it being phrased that way, there are three brands of hobbit. However Amazon has been trying to play it off as Harfoots are ancestors.
Modern definitions:
Villain - the male character with the most (although not much) personality and charisma, who get's punished for his evildoing
Hero - the female character with the least (if any at all) personality, who is the biggest asshole in the story and get's away with commiting even more evil than the villain
I might just watch this show only to root for DefinetlyNotSauron. Someone has to take a stand against evil, even if it has to be the dark lord, right?

I didnt see that happening to Shadow and bone for example, show that has like the most diverse cast in the most diverse fantasy world.
I have chosen to watch the extended edition of LoTR over the same time TRoP is running - what is apparent already is just the difference in the filmmaking art - Jackson and Fran spent a year rereading all Tolkien's source material and lovingly recreating the movies - they only made changes to help the movies flow - not because they wanted to 'be Tolkien' but because they understood how the movies needed to differ from the books (time) but always founded themselves they were writing for for an audience of people who loved the source material. There was absolutely nothing like this in the show. A shadowy figure of Morgoth at the start did nothing to portray how evil and warped he was. They really were way off the mark when they made this abomination.
Y'know, my feeling about Elrond in this series was that he seemed like one of the aristocracy from Downton Abbey had been picked up, dropped into Middle-Earth and given an outfit and told "Here, wear this stuff from now on." But your 'Orlando Bloom 2.0' encapsulates it better, I think. 😀
Thats a pretty cool review. I laughed and still it was on the spot, was thorough and deep. Thanks man. Fuck Amazon.
i misheard "this dialogue makes me wish I was deaf" as "this dialogue makes me wish I was dead" and both are excellent lol
🤣🤣🤣
When those classic scenes from the Lord of the Rings played with Frodo and Gandalf with Howard Shore’s music in the background....I honestly teared up.
Same. I’ve revisited those movies this past week and they’re simply amazing.
It's like watching the great grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt announce that he is sending all the trains running into the Bronx head on into each other at the same time every Friday. First crash was interesting but think of the children.
The fact that's a scene about "stealing jobs" in Middle Earth is so painfully transparent and laughable
People don't want CGI, bad actors, bad characters, bad storytelling, LOTR memories, or the butchering of tolkeins story. Quit using CGI, instead, make models, film at real sites, hire background actors, and use costumes. The audience notices.
The only thing they did decent was costumes for orcs and some dwarves. Which was already done excellently 20 years ago.
The orcs look terrible, they just look like men with masks, you can totaly tell they are fake.
And the dwarfs have plastic armor, the inside of the dwarfcaves look like fucking ikea and the so call "game" against elrond with hitting on the same stone a 100 times was so stupid I had to turn off the tv.
If there is one complaint I feel is unjust about this show, its the CGI. Like, the real sets are honestly some of the best looking ive ever seen on television (waaaaaay better than GoT for example), They got orcs in full make up (unlike the Hobbit movies) and the scenes are generally full of actors milling about. Like, are you talking just background set dressings? like places way off in the background?
CGI is not something bad in-and-of itself. Avatar was almost entirely CGI and it's both much loved AND still looks absolutely astonishing to this day.
The problem is awful storytelling, dialogue and character development.
and without colour people
Yeah it's crazy how none of the orcs look as good as the ones 21 years ago...
Holy crap. This does have a MASSIVE CW vibe to it. There's simply no way they spent all that money for an hour long CW "made for tv" show. Someone is either a liar or they ran off with a fuck load of cash.
What is cw
@@cringystingy8025 who knows, but it was obviously way too long to write out because no other words are abbreviated.
@Gone Awry Which are all better shows than RoP lmaoo
Funny fact, when i watched all the episodes i had diarrhea for an entire week, i still can smell it in my house.
😂
