I do that hack but do it lower from the earbud and it dosent cause any harm to the cable this helps when your earbud dosent have a volume/mic on one side of the earbud

To blow your mind: usually the left side of an earbud has some detail ta can be sensed by touch, usually its 3 dots. (00:30)

Why to amplify sound from the earbuds when you have a much larger speaker on your smartphone?

You can get the left right by just looking at the angle that they have.
Instead of putting a small knot in one of your ear buds to differentiate between L & R all you need do is put a dot of brightly coloured nail polish on one of them, hey presto! and you'll immediately know which is which. If your a guy and don't have a girlfriend or mum that used nail polish just use a piece of sticky tape, or similar. If you need to keep your ear buds cable untangled and don't have a cork, or even if you do have a cork and are concerned you may cut yourself on a razor blade, just use the cardboard centre of toilet paper and scissors, instead of cutting the groove across the middle, just cut a small bit of the cut down toilet roll or kitchen towel roll.
Instead of tying a knot in one bud wire (which *will* damage it; and Klipsch ain't cheap), wrap a short piece of electrical tape around one wire, near the bud. But specifically for these Klipsch, simply make sure the logo on each bud is facing rear (or forward, depending on your model). That automatically ensures you have each in the correct ear.

or use the speakers on your phone... unless you are using a device with no speakers, in which case that would be handy.

Yea, those Klipsch earbuds are designed with a curve so they fit more comfortably in the ear. That right there tells you which side is which. I've used various versions of the S4's over the years. It's one of the easiest ways to know left from right as far as earbuds go.
Good thing earbuds are basically cheap garbage, but you NEVER tie a knot in a wire of something you actually care about. Luckily, you'll lose those earbuds before the damage is noticeable.

*Also if you're tired of the earphones falling out of your ears just put them in your ears and wrap the cord around your ear. And boom, instead of falling out it will just yank on your ear a little :D*

Chances are the speakers in the phone/tablet/laptop are louder and more high quality that poking the earbuds through plastic cups :)) Also, don't tie knots in cables, especially thin ones like those. It's a no-no - you'll ruin them eventually ! :|

Don't worry about it. I dont get annoyed because its sponsoring him so they pay him to make these videos but he has to put them in his videos. They oay for the equipment to make the video or just himself. (e.g, they payed for all of those headphones, or the camera, maybe both)

Why are there so many disslikes? The only problem I had with the video was the cork thing, because it wouldn't feel good in your pocket, but the rest of the video was great. Keep up the good work Kipkay!
P.S. instead of tying a knot one earbud to identify which side it is, you can put a dab of hot glue on it, but after a while of using earbuds. I found I didn't even need it, I just got used to feeling which bud it was by the shape, but obviously it didn't work with symmetrical earbuds.
+Pete the Panda Thanks Pete. Yes there are a bunch of different ways to identify L/R. This is the simplest that requires nothing other than the ability to tie a small knot. Anyone who knows anything about electronics knows that manufacturers tie knots behind enclosures to hold a cable from going through a hole. Open up a pair of full size headphones and you will see what I am talking about.

Lately I just check in to see how much hate Kipkay's video is getting.
You can also use standard pipe insulation to create ear bud pads to replace lost ones. Scissor, pipe insulation and gorilla glue if you want them to be permanent. Simply shape a small piece of pipe insulation to fit your ear and drill or cut a hole all the way through and glue or place on your ear bud stem. I lost the pads to my Bose buds and did this and they are BETTER than the originals, the bass is much deeper and they keep out environmental sound better also.
last one: how about just remove the earphones and use the phones speaker,

Seriously, I've seen every one of these things a billion times because they are all just common knowledge or don't do anything useful. And 25% of the video is an ad? It's just ridiculous.
In middle school I made a circuit board that produced a siren sound and in high school I made something to attach to a stereo speaker and into a light so the latter would pulse to the music. If you haven't done either of these ideas yet, how about those?

if you tie a knot in it it will cause stress I did it for a bout a month and the sound is all gone in the right earbud. if you wrap it around a cork it will make it quiet in one earbud.

I have the same pair of Klipsch earbuds. Does he not notice that each earbud is angled to fit into your ear canal better? It's how I determine the left from the right one. Just remember which angle goes to which ear.

I use a small red ziptie to mark "left" and green to mark "right". Positioned differently on the wires to make finding left/right in the dark. Kinder to the wires than a knot.

I use different color ear tips. Red is right, left is white. just like on composite cables. Also I wouldn't try the cork, if you cut the cork too wide it won't grip the cables hard enough and I've had bad results with wrapping cables that tightly. I just use a breath savers container. keeps the ear buds loosely coiled and safe and can also store extra ear tips. Also hurts less falling on a flat hollow plastic puck than a balled up cork.

I remember seeing those same exact blue earbuds on at least one of Kipkay's old *old* videos _years_ ago. If they still work, I'm surprised, my earbuds always end up breaking somehow, usually something like one side doesn't work after a while, I've probably never really had any earbuds that last me more than a year or two.

ive been using earplugs on my buds for years and they work like a beast..a tip for ya though take a little drip of super glue on the ear plug to keep the new rubber ear pice on they sometimes will be a little bigger than the bud so this will keep them from coming off while still being able to remove them for a new pair

Now how about something a little more practical. like how to fix the drawer full of earbuds I have that only work on one headphone now because of the cables getting yanked on?
You can also make a earbud speaker using one empty coin wrapper, push you ear buds into each end of the coin wrapper and it creates more bass, make sure the fit is tight though or you will lose the effect.
the ones that you put the earplugs on, when those earbuds go bad you can still use them as earplugs because they have the cord to drop around the back of your neck.

Hate to break the news but that small knotactually will hurt the wires inside. In a perfect world, that knot would never get pulled tight, but it will every time the cable gets moved or pulled. It will bend the wires inside and eventually one will get a jittery connection. Just use white paint instead or look at where the mic is since most earbuds now have one. Also, left or right doesn't make that much difference in common cases.
