  • Crazy mods to a Honda cmx250 Rebel
I’m trying to come up with ideas to trick this rebel 250 out. Make it a real eye candy machine. That’s the topic in this rebel moto vlog of 2019.

Do not bore out that motor. Do not touch that motor. Any mods for more power, more compression, higher revs, it will kill the biggest benefits of the rebel. Gas mileage, how easy it is to start and keep tuned, and longevity. As it sits, the rebel doesn't have enough power to hurt itself, not enough compression to be hard to start or hard to get tuned and stay tuned. But enough power to get you moving. Many problems will arise when you modify a rebels motor. If you desperately need to go faster, get a cheap old sport bike from Craigslist for $1500. It would take a lot of modifications to get a rebel to go any faster. It's perfect from the factory, they knew what they where doing when they made it. 100 years from now, all the rebels will still be on the road.

Nasty Habits runs like a champ. I have been trying to find a big bore kit for it but so far I haven’t found one

Ssss You should / can put a big bore engine ( max legal limit )
    2. Change the sprocket to increase speed and power ( front 14T , Rear 33T) or front 13T rear 34T )
    3. Double barrel carby.
    4. A big fuel tank.
    5. two leather bags / panniers at the back, should be enough.
    Good job, good idea.

I have a 1986 rebel 250 that I got for free. Rebuilding it with my son for his first bike. May buy another one so we can ride the same bike together.

I luv my 2015' rr Rebel, i would fix it up but making the forks too much longer than stock changes the rake angle! I'm gonna put a Corbin leather seat and upgrade the tires to Kenda street performers.

I have a big bore kit on mine, everything the bike lacked with headwinds & inclines are now gone! Ive yet to notice much difference in gas mileage either. Highly recommend it! Just be sure to drop 3 teeth on the rear sprocket, increase air flow & spark as well!

@@eligutierrez3841 The $200 ebay special, bored jugs are from a chinese clone motor and the pistons are generic flat top 57.4mm . Quick search should bring it up for you.

@@eligutierrez3841 Listen though, if you did it proper, the bike could really see some real performance. Meaning, if you got the kit, also had your cam re-ground to match the added CC's and modded your exhaust to a larger diameter 2 into 1. Bike could possibly get over 90mph!
