I am 72 years old, a Vietnam vet and a proud owner and rider of a 2006 Rebel. It only had 1423 miles on it when I bought it last year. It was garage kept and in mint condition, with a crash bar, wind shield and a nice leather set of bags. I got it for $1300. I am only 5' 5" tall so this bike is perfect for me. I have ridden over 1000 miles on it exploring the blue roads here where I live since I got it. I love it.

"Can you highway a Honda 250 Rebel?" You absolutely can. I've done it. Coast to coast, ridden all over the country, mostly on freeways, mostly at full throttle. Racked up over 30K miles, probably over 80% of it at full throttle. Unlike "modern" bikes, the Rebel's engine dates back to the '60s, uses simple technology, and is seriously overbuilt. Properly maintained, it can be ridden at full throttle for nearly 80K miles before it starts to eat it's valves.

You can highway any bike,... just depends on how long, how far and how fast haha

Dont tell the guys who ride from Tennessee Florida Louisiana Pennsylvania and Illinois every year to ohio for the annual honda rebel rally. I've had my 250 a few years and will always have it. I also have a 450 rebel but the 250 is so.much more fun. Cheap bulletproof and fun.

Can you ride a 250 rebel on the highway, verses should you ride your 250 Rebel on the highway, are two entirely different questions. LOL

Very low maintenance, cheap to insure and go forever and a mile on a tank of gas. Light nimble and very reliable, even with not much more than oil changes and tire pressure.

A lot of guys are too macho, and always have to say the bikes are good for kids and girls. If you rarely get on the interstate and are an average size and average personality, this bike is great. If you need a hulking macho bike, or love breaking the sound barrier, then look elsewhere.

It's possible, barely. If you're intent on that engine a "high speeds" I had a large buddy with a nighthawk 250 that he'd hit 90 mph on routinely. He was floating the valves but he did it. I was astonished doing 75 on my Suzuki Savage and he passes me. On my rebel I was uncomfortable doing much more than 55 just because the motor revs so high. A even at 55 it sounded like and angry bees nest.

I have a 1990 250 Yamaha Virago with 60.000 klm on it. It's a great cheap reliable commuter. These bikes are great for around town.

Excellent campus bike. You don't have a garage or spare cash, this bike needs almost no messy disassembly maintenance or gas. Insurance is cheap. Should cost you about $20 a month or less. Tires go 8000 miles or more and are <$80 per wheel. Highway up to 60 is real stable. Past 65 it is so light it vibrates and gets twitchy with the old school shocks. You have modest brakes because you only have an 18hp 233cc motor.

I got a 1982 250T LA Custom, not good on top end speed, but definitely a good cruiser for riding around.
