I have seen this birthday event with Shirley before. But it wasn't until today, when I saw your comment about tulle, that made me think about what happened to me almost thirty years ago. I live in Sweden and the fabric tulle is called tyll here. Something else we also call tyll is the nozzles to a piping bag. I was working in a bakery at the time and one day I felt like doing some baking at home. I went to a supermarket to buy the ingredients and also a new nozzle (tyll) for the piping bag. I wasn't sure if they had nozzles for sale so I went to the lady at the information desk. - Hello, I said to the lady. Do you sell tyll? (nozzle) - Hello, she said. Yes, we do sell tyll. (tulle) But, what are you going to do with that? The lady started to smile. - I am using tyll (nozzle) when I bake, I said. - Do you use tyll (tulle) when you bake, she asked and started to laugh really loud. - Yes, I do, I said. The lady laughed even louder and shouted to one of her female colleagues to come over and listen to what I had to say. I asked the second lady the same question and then there were two laughing ladies. I tried to explain that it was the nozzle I wanted to buy, not the fabric, but they couldn't stop laughing. I left without buying anything. 🤣🤣

My wild guess, Dame Bassey must be 78 or 79 by now but her strong vocal chords will vibrate for a long, long time! Long live.

Shirley had a really bad cold when this was recorded. Really heavy. However....the show must go on. You can hear this quite clearly and I knew the production team. It went well....thankfully.
