Okay I’ve been one of her biggest fans for a long time so when I say this it’s with the utmost respect and love Dame Bassey is a freak of nature! She was in the same key from beginning to end of this video 83 years old the same key as in her 20s OMG!!!!!

There are singers, than there is Dame Shirley Bassey in a class all of her own, there are not enough superlatives for how talented she is, diva, superstar and legend are all banded about much too freely, she is all of them and more.

1000+ for classic Air Jamaica clip at the beginning. 10,000+ for classic Dame Shirley. These songs and performances are gold. She is flawless and unmatched forever. No one else comes anywhere near her style and vocal ability. I could watch and listen to her sing all day. No one performs like this anymore, and it is a shame that most of these songs have disappeared from our culture. The lyrics and arrangement of these old songs are superlatively perfect. Thank you, Debra for sharing it. And thank you Yahweh/Jehovah God for blessing us with this gorgeous woman and her awesome music. Nothing like this exists in the entertainment business today. Its all crap.

There are no words that adequately describe Dame Shirley’s performances. She is beyond equal and a true super singing star. I was very touched by the last song, since I selected it to be played at the funeral of my father who adored DSB.

Years ago, I was stuffed into the back row of a small movie theater. There were still people outside who could not get in. When Shirley sang "Goldfinger", everyone in the theater was astounded about what we just heard - we couldn't wait for the movie to unfold. I'll never forget that moment, so long ago.
No one but no one ...comes remotely close to this ladies vocals...such power...such control..such emotion.
I have GOOSEBUMPS from the moment she sang the first note...until the show ended.

Way back when, when I was a young man, I saw Bassey perform at the Albert Hall, in London. After the show I waited by the stage door for her to emerge. She eventually appeared, inside a black limousine, and the window went down. She put out her hand and I took it for a few seconds. She was positively glowing .. a real superstar. Very beautiful eyes and skin .. all wrapped up in white fur. But it was a beauty which also came from inside her. It was a stupendous moment. I'm not normally stage struck. I was a dancer on the west end stage snd BBC TV, so was used to working with big names like Frankie Howerd and Dora Bryan ... but Bassey was on a different planet. A true star.

Amazing.....What a huge talent...These show were such high quality back then, in terms of Lighting, set design and the musicians and they stand the test of time even though they look dated to us today. Cannot really think of any singer today that so viscerally puts it out there or that can really work with this material.
Yes! The background sets look very expensive and impressive...and this was almost 60 years ago!
Modern singers now do lame performances in front of video screens...or those old cheap TRL sets on MTV!

What I write now, is happened in 1971.I heard This speech at first :The next song performed by an already not too young color skin female Singer, called miss Shirley Bassey. I never heard Her voice never before. I intetested, Who is She? And I recorded the song. It was Something. And I was in Heaven. And She was already 34 yrs young. So really not too old. She's the only female artist/singer who owns all these great qualities. Never get tired of watching her perform here and listening to her great voice and wonderful songs. Love her.
