Love my compass Trailhawk. Has never left me stranded in all of my outdoor ventures. Throw some all terrain tires on it instead of the all seasons and it’s even better off road in mud and on rock

I own a 2018 but with a natural aspirated gasoline 2.4 L engine. Very capable off-road, it does what it's intented to do pretty good (it's no rock crawler). Reliability should be better. I've used the warranty for 3 issues now and it's going in on Monday for 3 more. Here are the past issues: panoramic sunroof rattled, rear seat became loose and main battery died after 1 year of ownership. New issues that are getting fixed: secondary battery died (it's the one used for the start/stop functionality), multi media screen started "peeling from the inside" so a part of the screen does not recognize when you touch it and finally the last issue, it seems the rear spring got loose. This is the first time I buy a FCA product. I knew going in it would have some reliability issues so I got the extended warranty and everything has been fixed at no cost at all. Would I get another jeep? Sure, they are fun. If Toyota would upgrade their tech and fuel efficiency, then I would go for a Toyota.

I wish more of the SUVs had such offroad versions, which can be easily done by making a better approach angle, atleast 200 mm of ground clearance, and better all terrain tyres.
The new city focussed front lower bumper designs make it so easy to scrape the chin, that even if the AWD system can cope with mild offroading, its so very easy to damage the car.

Dude, i rented one of these to test out 4x4 because i was considering getting a wrangler if i like offroading, and I took this little jeep compass trail hawk with little skinny ass street tires couldn't have been wider than 205's to this suuuper big place i go ride my dirtbikes, it's massive, probably 5,000 acres of trails and mountain terrain. I took this little fucking compass on hills that were like 1/8th mile long and damn near straight up and down and it handled it like a dream, on the road though this little thing has absolutely no balls/passing power, but off road, it's not too bad if i say so myself!

I had a 2016 Jeep Cherokee TrialHawk for a short time some years back. It strangely would not drop into ninth gear until you hit 145. Quite nice but a but unreliable. The diesel Compass looks like a better way to go. Good review Paul.

This vehicle is pretty good if you are realistic about it. Too many people see “JEEP” on the side and think they can beat the hell out of it. But if you need to get to your favorite hunting or fishing spot, or get up to your ski resort then this vehicle is really good. I’ve seen people take this car up trails not meant for a crossover. And this vehicle handles it. But at what cost? It’s not meant for that kind of prolonged abuse. But if you’re ever in a jam this little car may surprise you. Just don’t intentionally put it there.

So if you are using the cars speed to measure the times its not really timing to 100Kph? Merry Xmas and Happy new year!!

Why does jeep have iblinker stalk on the left side & Wipwer stalk on the right side of the steering wheel? Thats a pain to use in RHD markets.
Especially operating the transmission and putting on blinkers.
They do that on amnual cars as well, which even more painful to use.
And while cruising, people in RHD markets tend to keep only right hand on the wheel, Which makes even more pain to operate the blinkers.
This pathetic design alone is enough to skip this car. Was looking for a car in this budget. Looking for other brands that makes more sense in design.
