    So it's my understanding (and I've often been wrong, so if I am please correct me) that the "4WD Lock" on there just forces you to stay in 1st gear and 4WD. I'm looking at a 2017 Compass Limited and it doesn't have the 4WD Lock option. But I can just manually put it in 1st gear using the manual shift option, right? Would it work the same?
    I'm getting out of my Tahoe for something smaller with AWD or 4WD (I hunt on my farm property, lots of muddy trails) and the Compass (so far) is the best test drive I've had. Also looking at at Limited Renegade and a 2017 ML350.

    • @NorthTexasDirt
      @NorthTexasDirt  Před 9 měsíci +1

      My 2019 has a separate function for 1st gear only 4WD called 4WD Low and then it also has the 4WD Lock which just keeps the all wheel drive system engaged.
      That is very interesting the 2017 Limited doesn't have the 4WD Lock button. I'm guessing it still operates like an AWD vehicle though. I would try to find one that actually has the 4WD Lock button if you can.

      @@coblaze1 I sure did. I fit 245/65 17 under it with 1" wheel spacers so I could clear the spring mounts.

    • @NorthTexasDirt

      Yes sir, I do. An ATP 2" lift with 1" wheel spacers so the 245/65/17 BF Goodrich All Terrains can fit

    I got a 22 Compass, really wanting to get better tires for it, been thinking of a lift but not sure if its worth it.

      I would say skip the lift just because of how much it will affect your gas mileage. I went from 23 to 18.5mpg
